About: I’m a lifelong animal lover whose always had dogs and cats throughout my childhood and adulthood. I also have professional experience working at a doggy daycare, where I cared for 70+ dogs each day. That experience taught me how to handle dogs with a wide range of personalities, energy levels, and needs while making sure every pup feels safe, happy, and loved. At home, we have a good sized fully fenced-in yard where your dog can run, play, and get plenty of outdoor time. I also love staying active myself, so going for walks with the dogs is one of my favorite parts of pet care. Whether your pet needs some extra playtime, a good long walk, or simply some love and companionship while you’re away, I’ll treat them like one of my own. I recently moved to North Carolina from Massachusetts with my fur babies and husband for my husband’s career and to continue his college career at UNCW. Currently, I am not working and pet care is my only focus. I give all my animals/the animals that I care for lots of love and attention. Additionally, I give them lots of play time and exercise.

It was clear from the start that Sue-Ling truly loves animals and treats them like her own. There was a small health issue while I was away, but Sue-Ling handled everything calmly and responsibly. She kept me updated right away and made sure my dog was comfortable and safe. I felt completely reassured knowing she was in such good hands. I’m really grateful for the care and attention Sue-Ling gave to my dog, and I would absolutely trust her to look after her again anytime. She’s amazing!”

About: I have always had pets growing up as a child and my love for them has grown into my adulthood even more. I have experience with many different breeds ranging from smaller dogs to bigger dogs. My fiancé and I rescued a beagle mix a couple years ago and she’s our baby! She is probably most sweet, happy, and quiet dog you could meet. We got her when she was 8 weeks old and could fit in the palm of my hand. Now she's a stubborn big back little girl that will do any trick you ask her if you have a treat in your hand. Overall I love dogs, I feel like you can never be mad when you have one. No matter what bad things they do, they win you back over by being cute and friendly. Pet care fits in my schedule every day of the week rather it's caring for my own pet, or taking care of someone else's. It would have to be either after I get off work or before I go in. On weekends anytime would work. How I/we care for our pets at home is by walking our dog 3-4 times a day depend on how many times she has to use the bathroom. And by also feeding her 2-3 times a day depending on how much she ate the time before. -We walk our dog in the morning before work, when we get home from work, and at night before we go to bed. Majority of the we’ll feed her after she goes out in the morning and then feed her again when we get home from work.

About: I can’t remember an age where I wasn’t helping birth and raise kittens and puppies, turtles, or rodents. From having blind, toothless senior chihuahuas and senile cats…to a litter of brand new pups or kittens struggling to catch their first breath I’ve been part of it. I’ve had several rodents and reptiles, and cared for my friends and family birds as well. Trained puppies and kittens to use the potty and more. Also helped with a few farm animals too. I work only 20-25hrs a week, so I’ll always be home within 6hours or less. Outside of work, I’m home hanging out with my kids and furbabies. I have two e.s.a. Certified cats who tend to hide away when someone new is here. I’ve had them both since babies (13y & 3y). Keep things clean, organized, healthy, I had a cleaning company too. I don’t have crates on hand or an outside fence but I have a huge yard, the neighbor has a spayed female American bulldog, very friendly. There are farm animals next door. However, I do appreciate being where the pet is comfortable and knows its space.

About: Hi! I'm Kaitlyn, and I've spent the past 10 years caring for pets of all ages-from playful puppies and kittens to senior dogs and cats who need a little extra patience and gentle attention. I have two dogs myself a 3-year-old Aussiedoodle named Maxine and a 1-year-old Goldendoodle named Meeko so I truly understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pets. What sets me apart is my reliability, attentiveness, and genuine love for animals-I treat every pet as if they were my own. I'm comfortable with feeding routines, walks, playtime, medication reminders, and, of course, giving plenty of affection. My goal is to make sure every pet feels safe, happy, and loved while their family is away. I'd love to schedule a meet and greet to see if I'm the right fit for your furry friend! - Kaitlyn Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, and I’m home part-time four days a week, giving me plenty of flexibility to provide consistent, dependable care. I love giving pets the attention and companionship they need throughout the day, whether that means going for walks, playing, keeping up with their feeding routine, or simply spending quality time together. My goal is always to make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, happy, and loved while they’re in my care. In a client’s home, I follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible—whether that means sticking to feeding schedules, walks, playtime, or cuddle time—so they feel safe and comfortable in their own environment. I make sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and care while keeping their space clean and secure. When caring for pets in my own home, I provide a welcoming, safe environment where they’ll enjoy lots of love, playtime, and supervision. I treat every pet like family, ensuring they feel at home and well cared for. I have two friendly dogs who love to play and make new friends!

About: I have had pets my whole life, dogs, cats, even rabbits. In the past I volunteered at a dog rescue just to help out and be around dogs until I was ready to get one of my own.i have done short term fosters and am comfortable giving medications and shots if needed. I have a very flexible work schedule and generally make my own schedule most days of the week so I can likely accommodate you and your pets needs. I have a dog of my own that loves other dogs. I have a medium sized crate if you prefer to crate them, otherwise they will have free reign of my apartment, or your place.

“Lexi has taken care of our dog twice now and we will definitely use her the next time we are out of town! We were traveling home internationally and getting in very late. I expressed concerns over potentially missing our connection and Lexi offered to keep Ziggy longer if we needed free of charge. A testament to her dedication to make sure our pup is properly taken care of! We really appreciate her :)”

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.

Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Kelly home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Kelly.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Kelly sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
