“This is my third time having Jerry watch my 2 girls! He is my go-to when I am out of town because he is responsible, communicative, and most importantly treats my girls like his own. They always come back happy and tired!”

“Excellent, prompt, communications. Andrea was amenable to a pre-stay visit to ensure dogs were compatible with the environment. Dogs received excellent care during their stay and Andrea was willing to flex on the pick-up date when our return travel was delayed.”

About: Dogs have always been a big part of my life! I grew up with dogs in my family, so caring for them and being around them has always come naturally to me. Over the years, I’ve gained plenty of hands-on experience with feeding, walking, playing, bathing, and keeping dogs happy and comfortable. My boyfriend also grew up with dogs, so we’re both very comfortable around them and genuinely love having them around. I understand that every pup has their own personality and routine, and I’m happy to adapt to their individual needs to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while they’re with us. I’m new to Rover, but definitely not new to caring for dogs! I work from home, which gives me plenty of flexibility throughout the day to give your pup lots of attention, walks, and playtime. I live downtown and love walking, so having a furry companion join me on my daily walks would be a plus! I also live a very active lifestyle, and on the weekends my boyfriend and I love getting out and about. We live by ourselves and have plenty of time to make sure your pup gets all the attention and care they need. I’ve grown up with dogs and absolutely love having them around, so I would treat your pup just like my own! My apartment complex has a fenced-in dog park where they can safely play and get some exercise. Since my boyfriend and I live by ourselves, we can provide a calm, comfortable environment with plenty of attention. I’m also happy to follow your pup’s normal routine, feeding schedule, walks, and any specific instructions you provide so they feel as comfortable and at home as possible.
About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember and have always enjoyed being around all kinds of pets- from cats and dogs to farm animals. Caring for animals has always come naturally to me, and I’ve dreamed of having the opportunity to spend more time with them. My husband and I moved to Wilmington about 10 years ago, and for much of that time, life kept us so busy that having a pet of our own didn’t feel fair. Since I haven’t had pets of my own during this time, I’ve happily gotten my animal fix by pet sitting for friends and caring for their cats and dogs whenever they’ve needed someone they trust. I work away from home (Registered Nurse since 2016) just one day a week, which gives me plenty of flexibility and time to give your pets the attention, companionship, walks, playtime, and love they deserve. I have a fenced in yard, a nice neighborhood for walks and no other pets to care for. I know how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pets in someone else’s care, and I’ll treat them like they’re my own.
“Jennifer took great care of my very active foster dog over Thanksgiving. She sent updates with pictures regularly. It was clear that Ramsey felt comfortable with Jennifer and her family and was well cared for.”

“Hali and Levi are the best! They kept me up to date on my sweet baby while we were vacationing and very transparent when there was a boo boo involved. Hali jumped to take her to the vet for me just for reassurance! It was nothing Hali or Levi did, my little one just decided to be clumsy! I would 10 out of 10 recommend Hali and Levi for your pet sitting!”

“Robert did a fantastic job taking care of our dog frankie! I can highly recommend him for anyone looking for competent and empathetic care for their pet in Wilmington!!”

“Donna and Calvin were fantastic hosts! I knew my older Pomeranian was in great hands and I didn’t have to worry about him while I was away. Donna sent regular pictures and updates. He went on daily walks, and was given special attention with food because he doesn’t eat right away like other dogs. I highly recommend Donna and Calvin!”

“Sue-Ling was amazing with my pup. It was his first time ever being boarded away from me and she kept me updated on him and how he was doing. She was very attentive. I will be booking with her again!”

About: I’ve dog sat for friends and coworkers for 10+ years. I can assure you, your dog will get all the love while here in my care! We have a very energetic goldendoodle, that loves everyone and would love some playmates! I work not even 10 minutes from my house and am home daily on my lunch. I have a decent size fenced yard that allows the doggies to get out and run/play! If you are needing them to be crated, they absolutely can be but have an area they can run!
“I have an anxious small dog and Helena was absolutely wonderful and gave me great peace of mind while I left him for 4 days. She gave frequent updates and photos so I knew he was doing well. I will definitely be using her from now on anytime I need someone to watch my little guy!”

“Anna and her family were amazing to board my 2 dogs! She was super responsive and communicative. I received lots of pictures during their stay and I knew they were in great hands. Anna has a beautiful backyard and my girls had so much fun running around. Will definitely rebook and will recommend to anyone needing a loving family to watch their dogs!”

“Will and Sara were awesome! You can rest easy leaving your pet with them for sure. They kept me up to date on how Cooper was doing along with great pics and videos. Cooper had a blast with Louie and if I ever have to use Rover again, Will and Sara will be who I contact first!”

I have always been passionate about working with animals of all type. I will always go the extra mile to provide topnotch care and service. My husband and I travel often so I know how important it can be to find petcare that you can feel good about! I currently work from home full time with a very flexible schedule. “I would recommend Kim for your fur baby’s sitter 100%! From the moment we met her we knew our Macie would be not only happy for her stay but we had no idea how over and above Kim went to make her stay so wonderful. We are so impressed and grateful that we have found someone who we can put our trust in to take care of our girl. I would not want to use anyone else! I completely trust her! I appreciate everything she and her family did for Macie and making us feel secure in leaving her. Thank you Kim for loving Macie and treating her like family. I am so grateful that we have found Kim!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Riegelwood home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Riegelwood.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Riegelwood sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
