“After my last river sister moved away, I was a apprehensive about someone else watching Thumper. Hailey and Benjamin made everything easy from the first meet and great, slowly introducing their dogs one at a time and then letting them all roam around their yard, to the first drop off. Thumper was a bit nervous when he was dropped off, but slowly calmed down and enjoyed himself there. Everything made me calm down as well. I got a check-in update and lots of pictures. I am excited for his next visit and glad I found someone that both Thumper and I are both comfortable with!!!!”

She was soooooo patient to help our pup be safe and clean during her stay and managed to make it work even though our pup did not like diapers! About: I’ve been the primary caretaker for my dog for the past 7 years, handling everything from daily walks and feedings to baths and medication. I walk him at least four times a day and try to get in a longer mile-ish walk a few times a week so he can explore at his own pace. I’ve also cared for several friends’ dogs for multi-day stays ranging from a couple of days to over a week. Between that and growing up around pets, I’m very comfortable reading a dog’s personality and routine. My wife has lived with dogs her whole life as well, so our home is very dog friendly. Dogs are welcome on the couch and our own dog sleeps in bed with us. I’ve also done a fair bit of basic training with him. I taught him “wait” (stay), helped him get comfortable with paw cleaning after walks, and even set up a little “dog nest” on the bed that he now uses as his sleeping spot. I’m attentive to routines, meds, and the little details that make pets feel comfortable. I work from home, so pet care fits very naturally into my day. I’m around most of the time and able to give dogs attention, bathroom breaks, and supervision throughout the day. Our normal routine is a morning outing, one in the afternoon, another around 5–6pm, and a final one around 9pm before bed. If a dog needs to go out sooner or starts pawing at the door, I’m always happy to take them out. I try to fit in longer walks when the weather and work schedule allow, usually in the evenings. Because I’m home during the day, pets aren’t left alone for long stretches and get plenty of interaction. I work from home and have a wrap-around fenced yard, so dogs have plenty of safe space to wander and get fresh air. I keep a close eye on them when they’re outside and follow their normal routines as closely as possible. Inside, dogs are welcome to relax and make themselves comfortable. Our home is very dog friendly, and we’re used to having pets around. If a dog needs to be crated for sleeping or while we step out briefly, we do have a crate available. I’m attentive to feeding schedules, medications, and any specific instructions from owners. I’m also happy to send photos or videos throughout the stay so you can see how your pet is doing.

I worked 3 years emergency veterinary medicine and 2 years as a vet tech so I know what to look out for and can also provide special needs if your pet requires it. I have experience in training dogs also, so I can keep up with whatever your training plan is if your pup is still in training! I make healthy homemade training treats so I will share those and make them feel spoiled. If your dog is up for it, I would love to take them to hang out with friends' dogs, hiking, running, or some beach fun. It is best to keep a dog on a similar schedule that they are used to so please let me know what your dog's routine usually is. Please let me know if your dog is or isn't friendly with other dogs. I also have experience with cats and have had rabbits for 12 years so I can help no matter what your fluffy family is!
