“We were so thankful to have found Tabitha. It was so nice to receive her pictures, and we felt secure in knowing that our Baby was with a family that was playing with her and holding her while we were gone.”

“Charlie had a wonderful time with Clarice. She took her for walks cuddled with her and even let her sleep in the bed which she is accustomed to. We wouldn't hesitate to have Charlie spend time with her again.”

“Best sitter we have been able to find on Rover. Grace and John genuinely love dogs and take excellent care of our two chis when we need to leave town to visit family out of state. Our chis always come home happy. Very trustworthy!”

“Linda kept my dog for three days and she did an excellent job with him. She even sent me a little video of Ollie speaking to me. It was adorable! I will definitely use Linda C. again!!”

“Michelle was the absolute sweetest to my dog. Her and her family made me feel so comfortable leaving my dog with them and truly showed her love. She kept me updated everyday and sent pictures and videos. Thank you Michelle!”

“Adriana was great with my dog, Chino! She sent regular photos and videos, so I knew he was having a good time. I was nervous as this was my first time boarding him, and it couldn’t have gone better. I highly recommend Adriana to take care of your pup!”

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. Over the past year, I’ve gained a lot of hands-on experience dog sitting and caring for dogs with all kinds of personalities, routines, and needs. From daily walks and playtime to meals, medications, cuddles, and overnight stays, I treat every dog like they’re my own. I love getting to know each dog individually and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. Whether we’re out exploring, relaxing at home, or simply enjoying some extra attention, I’m happiest when I’m spending time with dogs. My goal is always for both the pups and their parents to feel happy, comfortable, and confident that they’re in good hands. I currently work a full-time job, so I’m typically away from home from 7-3 Monday through Thursday and home on Fridays and weekends. That said, I always make sure my pups are a priority and receive plenty of love, attention, and care. I have a secure, fenced-in yard and an 11-year-old dog named Maya who is friendly and would be happy to keep your pets company during their stay.
“Sophia was fantasic and will gladly use her again in the future. She scheduled a meet between us and our dogs prior to the actual stay, which was comforting! Marley stayed with Sophia for the weekend and had a great time! I got an update with photos every night. Marley is sometimes not good with dogs and just in case she wasn't friendly with her dogs, Sophia was able to accomodate that as well. Highly recommend!”

“Mirella was great! She took care of my old man and bathed him so he was not longer a crusty white dog. You can tell she really loves animals and is very patient with them. I got so many updates that put me at ease. He definitely enjoyed his stay and I will be rebooking again.”

“Duke had a wonderful time with Grant and Ginger. They interacted and played fetch with him to his heart's delight, they minded him during a thunderstorm, and their house and fenced yard is just such a great environment. Duke is usually nervous when he's boarded, but this time he snuggled on the couch with Grant and followed Ginger around-- as comfortable as he is at home. They have a couple other dogs who are really sweet, and they watch the interactions to make sure everyone is getting along. Highly recommend Grant W.!”
“Excellent environment, was a perfect fit family for Dusty. Friendly, relaxed with a positive vibe.. loved the grand children.. Cindy and family absolutely great and they have a solid love of animals and life. Definitely recommend and will use again if they agree.”

About: I love my dogs and cats so much to the point where I couldn't live without them! I have owned many dogs before the two I currently have. My current dogs are well trained by my husband and me. I have trained all of my dogs since I was young. I just love pets! I also love to walk with dogs daily and play with them so they can get their exercise. I believe that they need to have fun and play outside before entering the house. My job is to make sure the pets are happy and feel comfortable too. Also, I do enjoy giving dogs their bath so that they can feel freshly clean. I promise you, your pets will be receiving lots of love from me!
About: Hi I’m Hayley! I’ve been a compassionate animal lover my entire life. I grew up with cats, dogs, bunnies, guinea pigs. My husband and I rescued our Evey at 3 months old and she’s now 9 years old! We take excellent care of her and she’s treated like part of the family. I know how stressful it can be to leave your fur baby with someone else while traveling, so that is why high quality attention and care is my priority. I like to keep you updated, sending plenty of photos and always communicating. I’m available for house-sits, drop in visits for cats as well as in home boarding for dogs. My husband works from home and I have a flexible schedule. Whether you have a younger high energy dog who needs lots of playtime and walks and exercise, or you have a senior dog who likes to cuddle and lounge around on the couch I’m here for you! I’m currently working part time so I do have plenty of time to play, take care of, and give attention to your doggies! A typical day if you’re boarding your dog at our house would be outdoor time first thing in the morning, breakfast, nap time, a walk late morning or evening depending on the Texas heat, relaxing inside, dinner, more outdoor time, play time, cuddles and bed. If you’ll be boarding at our home, we have a house that is set up perfectly for dogs and a large fenced in backyard for them to run and play safely. Someone is always out there with them whether it’s me or my husband Nathan. They get plenty of attention in our home since we are home all day.
“Isabel took good care of our pup while my husband and I went away for the weekend. She sent updates with photos and video which comforted me so much. Our pup was returned to us happy and healthy. Success! Thank you Isabel & family.”

About: I have dogs since I was 4 years old. Trained them to listen to commands in sign language. My longest lived dog was 17 years old. I’m at stay at home mom with 5 kids. I have the whole time in the world for the extra babies, fur babies and hairless! I have fenced yard. I know how to groom them as well. Clip their nails. If the dogs don’t get along I will let a dog outside for a hr then switch them with large bowl of water, of course! And keep them in different room.
“My three Aussies really enjoyed staying at Maggs, she has a great set up for the pups and really seems to care about them. They were with her 5 days, drop off and pick up smooth. Will definitely use her as a pet sitter again. Highly recommend.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Joliet home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Joliet.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Joliet sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
