Brandy was such a wonderful dog sitter for my sweet doggy Jax! She came into my home and was respectful, kind, and loving to my dog, walked him, sent photos of their activities and their cuddle times together. I felt my doggie was in great hands while I was away visiting family with all the care and love Brandy gave Jax. I would highly recommend Brandy for any dog care needs you may have.

Mariah was the most perfect pet/house sitter that we could have possibly asked for. We will absolutely be seeking her services again in the future. Both of our dogs and our cat loved her. With good reason. She connected with them and dialed into their needs exceptionally well. In fact, so well that when she came to watch them, she instantly found 2 tiny ticks on our dog Nova. We look our dogs over for ticks daily, but we missed these and Mariah didn’t. She has an eagle eye for these types of details. She might want to consider being a pet photographer. Each day that we were gone, she sent us the most adorable photos of our pets. This helped reassure us that our pets were in wonderful, caring hands. We returned home with a clean house and happy, healthy pets. What more could you ask for? We highly recommend her services!

About: Hi! My name is Victoria, and caring for animals has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. We grew up with Siberian Huskies and learned from an early age the importance of providing pets with love, attention, exercise, and consistent care. Because of that experience, we have always had a special place in our hearts for animals. My husband and I are both lifelong dog lovers who grew up with dogs and understand that pets are family. We have a fully fenced-in yard where dogs can safely play, explore, and get plenty of exercise. Our home is a loving, pet-friendly environment where your furry family member will be treated like one of our own. I am a teacher, which means I am available all summer long and have a flexible schedule. We are able to provide plenty of attention, care, and companionship throughout the day to ensure your pet feels comfortable and loved while you are away. Whether your dog enjoys playing outside, going for walks, receiving belly rubs, or simply relaxing with people who love animals, we will make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. We understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and we are committed to providing dependable, loving care and regular updates for your peace of mind. As summer time is finally here *yayy* I want to fill my time with some furry friends! I am available for most of the summer, and during the school year, I work during the day, but have decent hours to be able to come home and play in the afternoons! I have a private, secure yard where your pet can safely play and relax. I also don’t have any children, so your fur baby will receive my main attention, care, and love during their stay.

About: Growing up, my family always had dogs, and today animals continue to be an important part of my life. I'm a board member of a local humane society and volunteer weekly at the shelter. I also help with low-cost spay/neuter clinics, where I've worked with dogs of many ages, sizes, personalities, and comfort levels. I know every dog is different. Some want long walks and lots of playtime. Others prefer a slower pace and plenty of affection. I take the time to learn your dog's routine, personality, and needs so they can feel comfortable and secure while you're away. Friends and colleagues describe me as dependable and patient. I pay close attention to details, communicate clearly, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. Whether your dog needs exercise, companionship or simply a familiar routine, I'll care for them as if they were my own. My goal is simple: for your dog to feel safe, happy, and loved, and for you to have complete peace of mind while you're away. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine. I work as an entrepreneur and consultant, which gives me flexibility to schedule visits, walks, feedings, and check-ins throughout the day. Because I manage my own schedule, I'm often able to accommodate pets who need consistent care, medication reminders, multiple daily visits, or extra attention while their families are away. I intentionally limit my commitments so I can provide dependable, personalized care rather than rushing between appointments. When I accept a booking, I make your pet's wellbeing a priority. I'm happy to provide overnight house sitting in your home. Many pets are most comfortable staying in their familiar surroundings, keeping their normal routines, and receiving one-on-one attention in a place they know and trust. When caring for your pets, I'll follow your instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, litter box cleaning, playtime, and any other routines that are important to your household. I'll also send regular updates and photos so you can stay connected and know how your pets are doing while you're away. I understand that hiring a house sitter means trusting someone with both your pets and your home. I take that responsibility seriously. I'll treat your home with care and respect, keep things tidy, and leave everything as I found it so you can return home to happy pets and peace of mind.

About: I’ve had my own dogs but I’ve also spent about 7 years as a foster mom to needy dogs and have had the pleasure of watching 14 dogs pass through my home on their way to a forever family . I’ve had dogs in heat , sick with heartworm and kennel cough . I currently have a 11 year old foster failure pit bull that is completely comfortable with me being gone for long stretches of time and all hours as well , he has access to the yard with doggy doors . I’m recently retired and am looking for new ways to occupy my time other than clocking in !! My dog is 11 and we typically are super low key and I have no commitment on a daily basis . At the present time I would be doing only in your home care , my dog is old and used to being an only dog , too late to change . I can easily do anytime or even overnights , he’s used to me being gone

About: I have had animals and cared for animals since I was young. On top of my personal animals, I have also dog and cat sat for family friends. I have also dealt with a diabetic cat and it’s shots. I am mostly just available on Fridays after 10:30 and on the weekends. I do sometimes have the availability for an afternoon (after 4) walk or drop in. I can care for your animals as you see fit in your home and follow your standards for your animals and home. If wanting some play time with another dog, I can also bring my own dog, who loves other dogs, for some play time.

Abigail was such a perfect fit for my pack. Attentive to the needs of my big boy Willie who is so afraid of fireworks. She let me know that one of my cats, Grazie was coughing to get up a hairball- which he did today! All were all so relaxed when I got home. That really meant a lot to me!

Grace was absolutely wonderful with our two shy and anxious dogs. Right before our trip, one of them developed an eye injury that required twice‑daily eye drops, and she administered the drops. Throughout our time away, she kept us updated with messages, photos, and even a video, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear that she earned their trust and affection. We highly recommend Grace and would happily have her watch and walk our dogs again.

Mariah is simply amazing! My Vizsla/Weimaraner (high energy, high separation anxiety) loves Mariah every time we have her. This year he was diagnosed with EPI and diabetes, both of which I have all of the trust in the world with Mariah supporting us through it when I’m out of town. Having to support a strict diet routine and insulin twice daily, there was no doubt Maria was equipped to take on the challenge. Her extensive background makes me feel at ease every time I’m gone. No question, Mariah is the girl!

FAQs for House Sitting - Janesville

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Janesville on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 381 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Janesville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Janesville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Janesville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Janesville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Janesville. On Rover:

  • 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
