About: I've been a pet owner my entire life, since before i can remember. Grew up around Dogs and Cats and understand them both. I lost my best friend in March of 2024 and am not quite ready to have another. I am looking forward to treating your best friends as though they are my own. I work as a caddie at Pebble Beach. With Spanish Bay closed for the year, I will have plenty of time. As I generally work 5-6 hours a day on my work days, I will have plenty of time to spend with your furry family members. I am available all days of the week I come to your house and care for your pets on their own turf. I believe it makes them more comfortable and provides an added level of security while you are traveling.

About: I’ve owned dogs for 12 years and taken care of dogs from ages of puppy to senior, I currently have two shitzu’s, one is blind and needs extra care that I am able to handle with other blind dogs if needed. I have a completely open and free schedule, able to pet sit any day and any time as well as overnight or all day if needed. I live in an apartment building with my two cats and dogs, I take me dogs on walks every other day and take them out to the bathroom every 2 hours, one of my dogs is blind and needs extra care and patience when walking and one of my cats wears diapers as she has continence issues, I am able to and can take care of other animals with these issues as well. Two of my relatives are active and past veterinarians and can offer active help and advice if needed.

All I can say that you can trust your fur baby to Valery without any hesitation. Our 6 years old Samoyed Ponchik loved her very much. She always was on top of it to send us videos and photos while we were away. Spoiled our baby :))) with love and treats. We'll definitely will use her help in the future as well. Thank you for everything Valery.

About: Hello! Personalize, attention, safety, and happiness are my top priorities. Your pups well-being is something I truly care about, making me the ideal choice for you! Before this app I had already started dog sitting and walking in places like Carmel, Pebble Beach, and Pacific Grove. I spend the other half of my time wedding planning, but I can do a lot from home! And I’m only part time so plenty of time to spend with the dogs! I’ve had many animals growing up from rats to alpacas so I’ve seen it all. I’m comfortable sleeping over and giving medicine, eye drop, or shots if needed.

Taryn was a great sitter, who was neat and considerate and who left a very content dog when she left our house. Our return plans were uncertain due to weather in CO but Taryn was more than willing to adjust her schedule to accommadate ours and Buddy's needs. Would definitely call on her again.

About: Personalized occupations, 24/7 pet sitting with daily photo updates, multiple pet care, and tailored care plans, ensuring your pet’s happiness and your peace of mind🩶. As a pet sitter, I’d work with you to seamlessly fit pet care into your daily or weekly schedule by taking on key tasks, ensuring your pet’s needs are met while you’re busy.🗓️ Ensuring the safety, trust, and a comfortable environment for your pet is my top priority. I’d ensure doors, gates, and windows are locked to prevent escapes, and I’d keep hazardous items (e.g., toxic foods, small objects) out of reach. For small pets, I’d double-check cage security. All while making sure your lovable animals have a stress free and loving environment.💌

Sophia was a great pet sitter. She checked in with me regularly and was very prompt. It was much easier to enjoy my recent trip knowing that Sophia was there with my dog, Kota. Kota is an older dog, and Sophia managed her medications and small walks for us. I would, of course, book her again.

Greta was very attentive and helpful when taking care of Kora. We had to take Kora to the pet hospital the night before we left and Greta gave us peace of mind to leave Kora with her and to mange the medication. She was respectful and good communicator. Would hire her again in the future!

About: I grew up with a dog throughout my childhood and miss him every day! I had a roommate with a dog recently for about a year as well and loved having a fur baby again. I recently got married and moved in with my husband, and I’m missing having a dog to walk and take care of! I’m a freelance French translator and interpreter, so my schedule is very flexible! I typically work from home and tend to have a lot of available in the afternoons, but can often assist in the morning as well, with advance notice. I’m not able to care for pets in my home at this time, as I’m not allowed to have dogs in my rental, unfortunately! I wish I could!

Sara did a great job watching our dog, cat, fish and house while we were gone for 11 days. They sent regular photos/updates, were very communicative, and the house was clean and cared for when we got home. Our spicy cat even warmed up to them eventually! It was a great comfort to know that our pup was getting his walks and was able to stick to his regular routine while we were away. We will defiantly use Sara again.

About: Hi! I'm a reliable and compassionate animal lover who truly understands that pets are family! I have cared for animals my whole life, and have been the choice of friends and family to take care of their dogs while they are away. I provide attentive, loving care for all pets as if they were my own. Whether it's daily walks, playtime, feeding, or simply providing companionship, I want to make sure your babies are safe, comfortable and happy while you’re away. I work at a school and i’m currently on summer break, so I am free to help walk for care for your pets anytime of the day. I have a fenced yard and 4 small, friendly dogs that would be happy to keep your pets company. If need be, my dogs are fine with staying in our garage while your pet roams the yard or stays inside.

He sent daily updates and was super responsive. Overall great experience, and will definitely be using Oscar’s services again!

FAQs for House Sitting - Jamesburg

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 371 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Jamesburg. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Jamesburg walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Jamesburg maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Jamesburg choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Jamesburg. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
