Greta was GREAT! Throughout the whole process she has been prompt with communication and oh so pleasant. She clearly developed a caring and affectionate relationship with our dog and she was well cared for during our vacation. She also kept us appraised of their activities with plenty of photos, which clearly showed that Tilly was well cared for and having fun. She also took good care of our home and we returned to a clean and orderly house! Always a plus after vacation. I would recommend Greta without reservation.

About: Personalized occupations, 24/7 pet sitting with daily photo updates, multiple pet care, and tailored care plans, ensuring your pet’s happiness and your peace of mind🩶. As a pet sitter, I’d work with you to seamlessly fit pet care into your daily or weekly schedule by taking on key tasks, ensuring your pet’s needs are met while you’re busy.🗓️ Ensuring the safety, trust, and a comfortable environment for your pet is my top priority. I’d ensure doors, gates, and windows are locked to prevent escapes, and I’d keep hazardous items (e.g., toxic foods, small objects) out of reach. For small pets, I’d double-check cage security. All while making sure your lovable animals have a stress free and loving environment.💌

Very nice and super accommodating! It was my first time leaving my two working dogs to be watched by someone and she did an amazing job! She was super flexible and was great with the dogs. She sent me photos and updates after every visit/walk. I will definitely look for her to watch my dogs again!

About: Hello! Personalize, attention, safety, and happiness are my top priorities. Your pups well-being is something I truly care about, making me the ideal choice for you! Before this app I had already started dog sitting and walking in places like Carmel, Pebble Beach, and Pacific Grove. I spend the other half of my time wedding planning, but I can do a lot from home! And I’m only part time so plenty of time to spend with the dogs! I’ve had many animals growing up from rats to alpacas so I’ve seen it all. I’m comfortable sleeping over and giving medicine, eye drop, or shots if needed.

Sophia was a great pet sitter. She checked in with me regularly and was very prompt. It was much easier to enjoy my recent trip knowing that Sophia was there with my dog, Kota. Kota is an older dog, and Sophia managed her medications and small walks for us. I would, of course, book her again.

Valery is such an amazing person! Our dog takes a while to warm up to people, but him and Valery were best buddies in no time! I was nervous leaving our fur baby while we traveled internationally, but Valery ensured that our pup was well taken care of! We loved receiving daily pictures and videos of our dog and hearing from our neighbors about how loving and sweet Valery was with him! I highly recommend Valery for your pet sitting needs!!!

We were so lucky to find Sara for our two-week trip. As first-time Rover users, we were a little nervous, but Sara completely put our minds at ease from the very beginning. They were professional, warm, and clearly wonderful with our two dogs. The best part was their communication—we looked forward to their daily photos and updates! It was so reassuring to see our boys happy and well-cared-for. We came home to a tidy house and two very happy dogs. We fully trusted Sara in our home and with our pets, and we will absolutely be booking them for all our future trips. Highly recommend

Mari stepped up and helped us out for an unexpected trip back home. She went above and beyond to look after our girls and took extra care with our shy girl, Emi, and won her over in the end. Our youngest girl 10 months unexpectedly started her first cycle and Mari cared for her and took care of her extra needs. ( we bought washable diapers to help during that time) We have already recommended her to our neighbors and look forward to using her again. Thank you so much Mari!

About: My dogs have passed and at this stage in our lives we travel to visit our children and grandchildren and so it's not reasonable for us to have our own dogs anymore. Instead when we're home we Foster dogs, we have fostered over 100 dogs for Monterey Bay Lab rescue. And we watch dogs for our friends. Rover gives us an opportunity to watch dogs for you and let you come to the Monterey peninsula or go camping or to family events or wherever you need to to go knowing that your dog is in our home and being loved completely. A home away from home for your dog. I promise. I work from home with a laptop on my lap sitting on a couch. All the dogs always love to sit next to me and snuggle and sleep and they love the fact that that's just what I do all day. They wander out to our little backyard area because we keep the door wide open and it's right next to the couch. They can bring their own toys but we also have a ton of toys. If you're from out of town, you can bring your dog to Carmel and go to the beach and Carmel Beach is the best for dogs. And then you can drop your dog off with me and you can go to the Monterey Bay aquarium or go out to dinner or do whatever you want. I'm a professor at our local University, my husband travels for business so he's gone a lot. I would love to have your dogs as companions during the days or nights. At our house dogs can go on the couches, they can sleep on the bed, they pretty much have the going to Grandma's house experience. I don't mix and match dogs unless I've watched them for a long time and I know they're all going to get along together. I like to just have one at a time or if two come in from a family, two is fine. Even three is okay if they're coming from the same family and they all like each other. We do have a dog park about a half a block away so if the dog is one that likes dog parks, we can do that. I will say from my fostering experience for the last 16 years, dogs normally do great when they meet someone who is just going to love them unconditionally. It's funny because the rescue organization gives me the dogs that need quiet and safe, loving and space to just decompress. So if your dog likes to just chill and you want to go, have a great adventure on your own and know that your baby is safe. I am definitely the pet sitter for you I teach online so I'm very rarely out of the house. I'm usually sitting on my couch with my laptop. I have a nice fenced-in back yard / patio area and I leave the door wide open to the back all the time, And the door is literally 2 ft from the couch. The dogs can come and go safely. I just love to have a dog snuggling up with me on the couch while I'm working. My husband teases me that we can't walk anywhere without me stopping and petting and talking and scratching every dog I see. I have a fenced in small backyard. I leave the door open between my living room and the backyard so the dogs can come and go. Some dogs love to just lay in the sun on the back pavers other dogs just go out to go to the bathroom while other dogs won't go out unless I go out and sit with them. It's very very safe

FAQs for House Sitting - Jamesburg

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 362 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Jamesburg. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Jamesburg walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Jamesburg maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Jamesburg choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Jamesburg. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
