“Justin was very responsive and stepped in same day after our usual sitter had to cancel last minute due to illness. He kept in great contact and sent updates on our pups. Both boys were well cared for and happy when we got home. Justin also brought in a package and closed the garage door we accidentally left open. I’d definitely book with Justin again and would highly recommend him. Thanks for caring for our babies!”

“Chase is the absolute best❣️❣️ He treated my pup like she was his own and she loves him( I think more than she loves me)🙂🙃. Every day I looked forward to my picture that he sent and her report card. Chase was very thorough and did a great job letting me know about Reese. I highly recommend Chase for your next pet sitter. He is awesome! ❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰🥰”

“I can not fully express my Gratitude to Brittany. She is an amasing person, and there was a full connect from day one with Jett, which makes her a great sitter. She was on top of daily routines, always on time and Jett had such a great time with Brittany. Jett and I we personally will be recommending her to anyone who has needs on leaveing their loved pawmily members under Brittany's supervision.”

About: I’ve had many different pets growing up, such as dogs, cats, and chickens. As of now, I just have two cats. I have pet-sat for family and friends and really enjoy spending time with animals. I’m responsible, caring, and will make sure your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’m able to fit pet care into my schedule by planning visits around my school and work commitments. I’m available for scheduled drop-in visits and can communicate with pet parents ahead of time to make sure I can provide reliable and consistent care. I’m responsible with my time and will make sure your pets get the attention and care they need. 🐾 When caring for pets in their home, I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I’ll follow their normal routine, provide food and fresh water, clean up after them, give them attention and playtime, and make sure they’re doing well before I leave. I’ll also keep pet parents updated and let them know how their pets are doing during each visit.

About: Hi! I’m a 19-year-old nursing student at Lipscomb University who genuinely loves animals and treats every pet like my own. Between having a cat and bunny myself and being the go-to pet sitter in my neighborhood, I’ve spent tons of time caring for pets of all personalities and energy levels. I’ve done overnight stays, walks, feeding schedules, playtime, cuddle sessions, and even handled the “I miss my owner” zoomies and anxiety. Whether your dog wants to play outside for hours or your cat just needs someone calm to hang out nearby, I’m happy to match their vibe. I’m responsible, patient, and will make sure your pets are loved on while you’re away! Pet care fits really naturally into my routine! I currently work part-time mostly evening shifts, which leaves me with flexible mornings, afternoons, and weekends for walks, drop-ins, and overnight stays. Since I already care for my own pets daily, spending time with animals is already a big part of my routine and something I genuinely enjoy. I’m very organized with my schedule and make sure every pet gets plenty of attention, care, and consistency while their owners are away. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I always try to keep their routine as normal and comfortable as possible. I follow all feeding schedules, walk routines, medication instructions, and house rules closely so pets feel safe and stress-free while their owners are away. I’m very respectful of clients’ homes, keep things clean, and make sure pets get plenty of attention, playtime, exercise, and care. I also love sending photo updates so owners can feel relaxed knowing their pets are happy and doing well!

About: I’ve been pet sitting since I was 13, whether it was neighbors or family, I always put forth the effort to make your pets feel loved and supported! I’m currently a student so I’ll have plenty of time to drop by and play with your pets, feed them, and walk them, if desired. I have two dogs myself, one thing I love to do is curl up on the couch with a good book with my pups! (I think they just like to lay on my legs.)
About: I have a dog and cat of my own at home! I’ve fostered kittens and puppies and volunteered for several animal related agencies like the Human Society and Tails of the Trails. I’m currently working full time, so I am available all day on the weekends or after work (6pm) on weekdays! I am also available early in the mornings before work (8am). I am very attentive to animals and probably enjoy walks and play time as much as they do! I have experience caring for older animals as well that need special care, so I am equipped to provide detailed attention as well!
“Miles was amazing! He was very reliable and he took extra great care of our pets, especially our dog who has to take multiple medications throughout the day. He had great communication, he was very flexible and pleasant to work with. We loved his daily updates! It was great having someone we could trust watching our pets!”
About: I’m a 19 year old student at UNC Charlotte and have grown up with dogs my entire life, so caring for animals comes very naturally to me. I’ve also dog and cat sat many times for friends, family, and others, including feeding, walking, playing, and overnight care. I’m comfortable with pets of different sizes and personalities, and I always make sure to follow routines closely so pets feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I’m reliable, attentive, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine. I’m available for check-ins, feedings, walks, and overnight stays with pets. I’m also flexible with my schedule and can adjust to meet a pet’s specific routine, whether that means multiple visits a day or staying longer to make sure they’re comfortable and cared for. When caring for pets in my clients’ homes, I always follow their specific instructions closely to keep their pet’s routine as consistent as possible. I make sure pets are fed on time, have fresh water, get plenty of attention, and any other care they need like walks, playtime, or litter box cleaning. I’m respectful of my clients’ homes and keep everything clean and organized. I also like to provide updates and photos so owners feel comfortable knowing their pet is happy and well cared for while they’re away.

About: I have ample experience caring for animals of all kinds. My family and friends rely on me to care for their pets when they are away, as well as provide them with advice on how to care for said pets on their own. Personally, I have two dogs, four cats, and other types of animals at home. I am currently going into college and hoping to fit pet care into my weekly routine while being a full-time student. Caring for my own animals is a part of my daily routine, so adding a few more will be no problem. I am willing to help in any way I can. I have approximately 2 acres of fenced in yard that any pup would love to play in. Said yard comes with 2 friendly and loving dogs that would love to have a playmate. Water, shelter, and luscious grass to lay in is provided.
“Grace & Mara were wonderful sitters! They took care of our three fur-babies while we were on family vacation. They had excellent communication the entire time and gave extra attention to our dog who deals with separation anxiety. We highly recommend them for your future pet care services!”

“Bonnie is awesome! She is reliable and takes wonderful care of our puppy. She even works with him on training and brought him a new toy for his progress! We are thrilled to have found someone that takes care of our puppy like we would and that we trust in our home.”

“Our German shepherd (Zeus) is a very anxious, does not like other dogs, does not take treats from people either, some may say aggressive but really, he’s just scared.we needed to find a person that could handle him, in other words know how to take the lead, show him “it’s okay” . We were amazed at how quickly she created a bond with him! Jack has the talent/skill and knowledge for taking care of big anxious dogs and sassy ones too. Recommend 10 out of 10. Now we can take vacations!!”

First time using Rover and Brittany. She did an initial meet and greet and came by one more time before services started since I was a new customer. Brittany communicated daily and sent pictures. One of my cats needed meds and she did all as requested. Would use her again and do recommend.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Jaars. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
