From start to finish, Veronique made the whole experience stress-free and full of peace of mind. They were so kind with my dog and kept me updated with plenty of photos and videos, which I loved. I could see how happy and comfortable my pup was the entire time, and I never had a single worry. It’s clear Veronique and her family truly cares and puts their heart into what they do. My dog came home happy, relaxed, and maybe even a little sad to leave! I’m so grateful for their care and can’t recommend them enough to other pet owners.

Gerald watched our dog in his home for 10 days, and we couldn't have been happier with the experience. Our dog can get anxious when he's away from home, but he was calm, comfortable, and clearly well cared for throughout his stay. Gerald took him on walks in the nearby park and provided excellent care. He was also a fantastic communicator, sending regular updates, photos, and videos that gave us peace of mind and made us feel connected while we were away. I would absolutely recommend Gerald to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter. We'll definitely be booking with him again in the future!

I cannot say enough good things about the care Freedom gave to my senior dog, Chunky. He’s an older dog with some anxiety issues, and Freedom handled him with so much patience, kindness, and calm energy. They went above and beyond. They took him to the dog park not once but twice, made homemade treats, and even gifted him a sweet new bandana. When I came home, I could tell Chunky had been genuinely happy and well cared for. It’s hard to find someone you trust with your pet, but I feel completely at ease leaving Chunky with Freedom anytime. I’m so thankful we found them, and I’ll absolutely be booking again.

This was our first time booking with Brenda, and she did an excellent job of making my pup feel at home and putting my mind at ease. She really treated Gracie as if she was her own, with lots of affection, play, and exercise. She did a great job of communicating with me also, sending updates, pictures, and videos. I would definitely book with Brenda again.

About: Hey im matt, and Ive lived with animals since i could remember always having a house full of 4 cats and 4 dogs at once! I know the behavior and ins and outs of any dog or cat so i can quickly be able to adapt to their emotions and behavior to make them feel safer and happier. Your furbabies will be treated to the highest standard as i do my own animals :) i have left previous jobs due to the lack of care of certain animals and environment conditions they were in due to the lack of control i had of the situation, i even have saved 15+ lost dogs and returned them home and saved them from car accidents during my daily drives working my delivery job. i would literally stop on a dime and ditch my vehicle and stop mid delivery just to go save multiple dogs lost and in danger so hopefully that gives you an idea of the type of care i would take for your own. I have a flexible part time job where i make my schedule so anytime is good for me usually to where i can pop in with no rush or stress and take care what you need done :) Follow and listen to all instructions word for word starting from how to enter the home to how to greet your pet to how to leave and say bye to ur pet if a certain manner is needed. i can adapt to any environment or condition to make sure your pet is safe and sound under your instructions :)

This was our first time boarding Sammie outside of Petsmart. We are so happy that we chose Eliana. She took such good care of Sammie and kept me updated with a lot of pics. He looked happy and very comfortable with her family. I love that he wasn't confined to a tiny room like at Petsmart and was able to have lots of outdoor play at no extra charge. We will definitely be using Eliana the next time we need to board Sammie!

Hannah was AMAZING! This was my first time bringing my dog to a sitter and she kept her for 5 nights while I went away! She made me feel very safe and comfortable by updating me, sending me countless pictures & videos of them playing and on walks, all while answering so quickly. Next trip I take I will definitely bring my dog back to her & I highly recommend you do the same! :)

Eliana made my Velcro dog at ease. She was the only dog that night so she got to feel very special. Eliana made us feel very much at ease leaving her there. She sent us so many pictures throughout the evening to make us feel even more at ease. We live out of state but if we visit again, we would definitely let Snickelfritz stay there again.❤️

Freedom was a huge help when we had to book at the last minute due to a family emergency. They were very nice to Cleo and accommodated her food needs and energy level. They also made a very cute portrait of Cleo and gifted her a bandana, which she is still wearing and loving. I highly recommend Freedom to others looking for a sitter.

As of July 2026, there are 7,160 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Islip. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Every sitter on Rover has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.

96% of Islip sitters also include daily walks in the neighborhood during dog boarding stays. You can also request photo and message updates throughout the stay so you can see which Islip landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.

If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Islip home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Islip.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Islip sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
