“We have used Melody twice to watch our miniature dachshund, Phoebe. The most recent stay was 7 nights; Melody did an excellent job providing cute photos and videos daily. Phoebe had a fun time going on walks and playing fetch with all of her toys. We would definitely use Melody again!”

“Jean is caring and very attentive to my dog. She gave multiple updates throughout his time there and paid attention to his behavior and asked questions. Very highly recommended”

Love going on walks to the forest preserves out in nature. let me be your dogs new friend. I work four days a week Tuesday thru Friday until 3:30pm. I'm available for boarding Friday nights thru Monday. I can take dogs for walks on Mondays, Weekends, and Tuesday-Friday after 4. I have a big home plenty of space to run around and play. My backyard is good size and fenced in. I can update you with photos of your dog. I can maintain the feeding schedule as required. I will make sure your dog has plenty outdoor time walks or just playing in my yard.
“My pet had spent the fantastic days in her house because I felt he didn’t want to go back home with me. I appreciated about what I could get good travel due to her care.”

“I just picked my dog up at Norma’s and I couldn’t be any happier!! Norma sent me several pictures and videos during the week and I could tell my dog was so happy and well cared for. I was relaxed during my week away knowing my dog was in good hands! Thank you again! ????”

“Tommy and Julie are absolutely amazing! Came to them at very last minute with our 3 pups while visiting Chicago for my son’s Navy graduation and they were so kind and welcoming. They constantly gave updates and sent photos and kept us informed of how our girls were doing. We will definitely be recommending them to other Navy families and using them again in the future. Thanks Tommy and Julie! ♥️”

“Highly recommend Rusty. On our meet & greet, he carefully introduced Kali to Banjo both outside and then inside to ensure no personality clashes. He asked many questions to ensure he knew Kali and her needs. On our drop off date, she immediately greated Rusty as an old friend. He took great care of Kali, sending messages & videos daily. His house and fenced yard are perfect for dogs. Kalid came home clean (even tho it rained a lot), happy, and tired! He responded quicky to our frequent txt updates on drop off & pickup times, due to traffic issues. Will book again and recommend him for your doggy care.”

I am extremely responsible and the most loving toward all furry family members. I make fast friends with all the ones I meet 😊 I believe exercise is essential for dogs and cats to thrive, so I’ll take your pup out on extra long walks and run around with the feather toy with your cats for as long as they want! I also have several years of experience with senior dogs, high-energy and reactive dogs, and those with special health needs. I’ll take care to clean up after myself and your animals to take the stress off your plate.
“Barb, was absolutely wonderful. Very accommodating and communicative. Our dog is a picky eater and she even went as far as feeding him out of her hand to make sure he was eating enough. We couldn’t have asked for a better care taker for our fur baby. Will definitely book again!”

“This was my first time leaving my pup with a sitter, and Katerina made it so much easier than I anticipated. Suki is usually a bit wary of strangers, but she was very comfortable and excited to be at Katerina's home. I highly recommend Katerina!”

“YAQI took such great care of our Latte! She was very attentive and thoughtful, and she sent us lots of photos every day so we always knew how Latte was doing. He was so happy staying with her, and we felt truly at ease the entire time. We will definitely book with YAQI again the next time we.”

“We had another wonderful experience with Kelly. Charlie stayed with her and her pups for the weekend-and it just happened to be Charlies 3rd Birthday. She went above and beyond celebrating him with homemade dog-friendly cupcakes, which was so thoughtful and adorable. It gave us such peace of mind that he was not only looked after but truly cared for. Once again he came home happy, healthy and relaxed. We are very grateful for the extra effort Kelly put in to make his Birthday special!! Highly recommend her to anyone.”

Natalia took care of our dog for the first time and was wonderful. She provided updates and lots of pictures. I could tell that our dog was comfortable and happy, and he was well taken care of with plenty of attention and nice walks. I would highly recommend Natalia! She's awesome!

Esther and Daniel did an excellent job of caring for Oakley! It was his first time staying with a new sitter so we were a little apprehensive, but we didn't need to be. I received pictures everyday from Esther and it was clear Oakley was having the time of his life. They were also super accommodating when we asked to change our pick-up date by a day for weather related travel delays. We couldn't be happier with our experience and we will definitely be using their services again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
