About: I’m someone who has loved animals as far as I can remember. After leaving my dog at a boarding facility in the past, I realize how stressful it can be for our little pals to be in a new environment. My paid animal care experience is as a zookeeper and curator at AZA accredited organizations. I also have many years as a volunteer for several wildlife rehabs and conservation organizations and projects. Most petsitting requests are for cats and dogs but I am also confident handling reptiles, livestock, parrots, and more. My skills list includes observation, record keeping, enrichment, training, medication administration, medical care, and more. The animal care field is fantastic and the best career but it’s more than getting paid to play with animals. It’s hard work and important work as the animals in our care depend on us for all things. After losing my 9-year-old Cane Corso, Ella, last year, I’m not quite ready to get another dog of my own - but I’d love to give that same care and attention to yours! Dogs are our family, and I will always treat them that way. Whether it’s walks, check ins, or overnight stays, your dog will get plenty of attention, affection, and playtime. If they stay with me, couch privileges (and even the bed!) are always welcome if that’s part of their normal routine. I’ve owned and cared for a variety of breeds, including a Golden Retriever, Dalmatian, Chocolate Lab, and Cane Corso, and I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes and personalities. I’m also happy to send regular updates and photos so you know your dog is happy and well cared for while you’re away. I understand how important a dog’s normal routine is, so I will follow your guidance to ensure they feel comfortable and at home with me. I normally work overnights, but have plenty of flexibility in my daily routine and weekends off to keep you updated on your pet’s visit while you are away. I have access to a large outdoor space for leashed activity, as well as a safe walking path for long walks in my neighborhood. I live about 15 minutes from an outdoor trail for additional leashed walks, but if your dog prefers off-leash, I’m only 10 minutes from a dog park (I’ve never seen it too busy, so they’ll normally have free reign!)

Your pup will be in safe, loving hands when I'm around. I'm willing to give baths as well as administer oral medication if needed, and send many updates and pictures during your service! I have a lot experience with senior pets, having had 3 senior pets of my own previous, and currently have an 11 year old senior who gets routine oral medication via pill and oral syringe, so I have practice with admistering both. Having seen many of my pets through their senior lives, I am quick to spot any signs of medical emergency or off symptoms. Your pets will be getting my 12+ years of experience with my own animals. I have a flexible schedule currently, and I'd be happy to do a meet a greet! I hope to hear from you and be trusted with your fur babies! My schedule is pretty open and flexible so I'll have plenty of time to pamper your fur baby! I'm available during weekdays primarily, and can be available most weekends given prior notice. I have a large fenced yard for your baby to run around and play in, and very friendly pets to keep your fur baby company, if they want! I can easily crate your pup if it is needed as well.
