About: Hi! I’m Latifah, and I pet sit together with my partner, Shane. We’re both huge animal lovers and have grown up around pets, particularly dogs and cats. We’ve previously house-sat together while looking after two dogs for an extended period and genuinely loved it. We’re very comfortable with the normal day-to-day stuff like feeding, walks, playtime, keeping them company and, providing an unreasonable amount of attention (our dog demands lots of pets and cuddles 😹). We both work remotely running our own businesses, which means we’re around during the day rather than disappearing off to work for 8 hours. We do still go out and explore, grab food or run errands, but we’ll always plan around your pet’s normal routine. If your pet has particular needs around how long they can be left alone, just let us know and we can discuss what works before booking. We’re especially happy to consider longer stays and bookings anywhere around Ireland. We have our own car, so we’re not restricted to our local area. Whether you’re in Wexford, Cork, Donegal, Galway or somewhere we’ve never even heard of, we’re happy to travel for the right booking. Getting to discover another part of Ireland is actually part of what we enjoy about pet sitting. We’re homeowners and short-term rental hosts ourselves, so we completely understand that you’re not only trusting someone with your pets, you’re trusting them with your home too. We’ll treat both with the same care and respect we’d want someone to have with ours, keep things tidy and happily send updates while you’re away. Every animal is different, so we’re happy to stick to whatever routine they’re used to e.g., walks, feeding schedules, medication, sleeping arrangements, favourite toys, whatever keeps them happy and comfortable. One important thing to know is that Shane and I always sit together, so there will be two of us staying in your home and looking after your pets. We’re more than happy to meet beforehand, virtually or in person, so you can get to know us. Ultimately, we want you to be able to go away knowing your pets have company, affection, their normal routine and two people looking out for them. Hope to hear from you! Latifah & Shane We both work remotely running our own businesses, so luckily there’s no disappearing off to an office for 8 hours a day. Our schedules are very flexible and we’ll plan work, errands and exploring around your pet’s normal routine. We’re especially happy with longer stays and are flexible with dates, weekdays and weekends. We care for pets in their own home, where they’re already comfortable and familiar with their surroundings. We’ll follow whatever routine you leave for us, including feeding times, walks, medication, sleeping arrangements and any house rules or quirks we need to know about. We’re also homeowners and Airbnb hosts ourselves, so we understand the trust involved in having someone stay in your home. We’ll treat it with the same respect we’d expect for our own, keep things tidy and make sure everything is secure while you’re away. We’re also happy to send regular photos and updates so you know everyone is happy and accounted for
About: I’ve had cats and dogs at home since I was young, so going on 25 years now. I have recently moved home from Vancouver and am working fully remote part time so I have lots of time to mind your dogs or stay with them while you travel! I have 2 small dogs of my own in the house. I have a large fenced in garden for your doggies to play in! I work fully remote so I am available all day for dog minding. I can drive and love to bring my dogs to Punchestown for their walkies It is a pet friendly, fenced in yard in a quiet neighbourhood near a park. The house itself is also pet friendly with pets allowed on furniture.

About: Dog Care Experience: Puppyhood to Pro I have a deep love for dogs and a practical, hands-on understanding of what it takes to keep them happy, healthy, and well-behaved. My primary experience comes from raising my 6-year-old Cocker Spaniel, Marley, from a puppy. Training & Mental Stimulation I believe a tired dog is a happy dog! I’ve spent years working with Marley on: Positive Reinforcement: I’ve taught her a variety of tricks and essential commands to keep her mind sharp. Active Lifestyle: As a runner, I understand the importance of high-quality exercise. Whether your dog needs a brisk walk or a high-energy run, I can keep up! Breed-Specific Care Raising a Cocker Spaniel has made me an expert in the "finer details" of dog care: Grooming & Hygiene: I’m experienced with regular ear cleaning and coat maintenance—essential for Spaniels and other long-haired breeds. Affectionate Attention: I provide a balance of structured exercise and plenty of "sofa time" and affection. My Promise to You I treat every dog with the respect and care they deserve. I am reliable, attentive to body language, and committed to following your specific training cues and routines so your dog feels consistent and secure while you're away How Pet Care Fits Into My Life Because I work from home full-time, my schedule is incredibly flexible. Your pet won't just be a "task" on my list; they become my coworker for the day! Constant Companionship: WFH allows me to provide frequent potty breaks, fresh water refills, and plenty of mid-day head scratches. If your pet suffers from separation anxiety, they’ll find comfort in having a calm human presence nearby all day. Active Mornings & Evenings: I am a dedicated runner (out 3 times a week). For high-energy dogs, this means I’m more than happy to trade a slow walk for a steady jog to help them burn off extra steam. Structured Routine: My own dog, Marley, thrives on a schedule, and I bring that same discipline to your pet’s routine. Whether it’s a strict feeding time for a senior cat or a specific training window for a puppy, I have the time and environment to make it happen. Why This Works for You Reliability: You don't have to worry about me rushing back to an office. Expertise: I can monitor senior cats or medical needs throughout the day, not just in "drop-in" windows. Energy: I have the fitness level to handle even the most energetic breeds. Safety, Trust & Environment Whether in my home or yours, my priority is creating a "zero-stress" environment where your pet feels safe and secure. In My Home: Full-Time Supervision: Because I work from home, pets are never left unattended for long periods. I am always in the next room to monitor behavior and well-being. Marley-Approved: My 6-year-old Cocker Spaniel, Marley, is friendly and well-socialized. I always perform a "meet and greet" first to ensure a harmonious environment for everyone. Safe Spaces: My home is organized to provide quiet corners for senior cats or shy dogs who need a break from the action. In Your Home: Respect & Discretion: I treat your home with the same respect I treat your pet. I follow your security protocols (alarms, locks) exactly as instructed. Maintaining the Routine: Pets are most comfortable in their own space. I stick strictly to your feeding, walking, and medication schedules to minimize any "away-from-owner" anxiety. The "Runner’s Eye": On walks or runs, I am hyper-vigilant about surroundings, off-leash dogs, and pavement temperature to ensure your dog’s paws and safety are never compromised. My Trust Guarantee: Having managed a cat with Chronic Kidney Disease, I am used to being extremely observant. I’ll send you regular photo updates and "report cards" so you can see exactly how much fun (and relaxation) your pet is having.

About: I have both professional kennel based experience and personal extended periods of house sitting. I have first hand experience with high energy dogs , high anxiety and lazy little couch potatoes who rather do nothing but sleep. I also have experience with cats having owned and fostered many over the years, I currently own two very dumb tabby cats who find themselves all sorts of mischief, I am highly capable at hiding that medicine in treats and having the most stubborn of kitties take it I am in college most days but I am free to spend the mornings and evenings with your pet, I can bring them on long walks or play endlessly until they tire out. If it is a house sitting job I will gladly stay over night with the puppy or kitty, as I own an elderly dog with my family I am unable to take pets inside the home. House sits I can visit 2-3 times a day depending on what the owner wishes.

About: Hi! I’m Han, an experienced dog lover offering dog walking, drop-in visits, and pet sitting in your home. I grew up around dogs and currently have two family dogs of my own – a puppy and a senior dog – so I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all ages, energy levels, and personalities. I also have experience caring for pets with additional needs, including blind and deaf dogs. One of my own beloved dogs, Baxter, is a blind Welsh Springer Spaniel, so I understand the patience, consistency, and attention that some pets require. I work full-time as a Radiation Therapist and offer pet care on Wednesdays and weekends. I have my own car and am happy to travel to your home so your dog can stay in a familiar and comfortable environment. I work in healthcare, so I’m used to being reliable, organised and attentive to individual needs. I’m fully available on Wednesdays, which gives me plenty of time for longer walks, home visits and keeping pets company without rushing. I may also have some availability on evenings and weekends depending on my work schedule. I enjoy getting to know each pet’s routine and making sure they feel comfortable, safe and well cared for. I will tailor my services and care to each individual pet and their needs, as well as those of their sitter. My 10 year old springer is blind and I am used to taking care of senior dogs as well as puppies.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Athy on Rover is {{median_grand_total_num.as_currency}} per night (as of {{date}}). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting.
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialise in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your Eircode to find a sitter within walking distance in your neighbourhood.
House sitters can stay overnight in your home and care for your pets according to the routine you agree on before the booking.
Depending on your pets’ needs, this may include feeding, walks, play, companionship, medication, providing toilet or litter-box care, and keeping their usual schedule. Some sitters may also agree to light household tasks, such as collecting mail, watering plants, or putting bins out, but these are not automatically included.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss the sitter’s overnight schedule, how long your pets can comfortably be left alone, arrival and departure times, update preferences, and all tasks you would like to arrange. Confirm the agreed responsibilities through the Rover app before booking.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter must complete an identity verification process before listing their services on Rover. This process checks that the sitter’s identity matches their provided documents.
Identity verification doesn't assess a sitter’s experience or suitability for your pet. To see if a sitter is the right fit, you can review each sitter's profile for ratings, verified reviews, repeat pet owner information and care style. We also recommend arranging a Meet & Greet to discuss your pet’s needs and make sure the sitter is the right fit before booking.
For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Athy choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into your regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who've never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover, but you're welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you've previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you're booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you'll have a chance to go through your pet's routine, medical needs and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. A Meet & Greet is a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When contacting your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
