About: Hi there, animals have always been a centraI part of our family life and aswell as our own two dogs, we really enjoy welcoming visiting dogs here while their families are away. We live in a small town near the Curragh, Co. Kildare. Our house has a garden with grass and gravel areas for the dogs to enjoy. Indoors, there are chill out areas with sofas and chairs. There are two small, friendly dogs living here that enjoy the company of other dogs. We treat any dogs that stay here as if they are our own. You can have peace of mind that your dog will be well cared for, with daily walks and lots of cuddles in between. We're lucky to be surrounded by plenty of green areas to bring the dogs for a sniff and a walk while they're on their holidays. These include the local parks, walking track and river valley walk. PLEASE NOTE: We ask that all dogs staying with us have their vaccinations up to date. Dogs over 6 months would need to be neutered before staying here. Dogs would also need to be comfortable around children. On a typical day here, your dog would be brought on a morning and evening walk (unless you specify not to, due to old age etc.). At meal times dogs will be fed separately to avoid anxiety. There are boundary walls around the garden so the area is completely secure for your pet. In the warmer weather there are water baths available for the dogs to cool off in.

“Harini and her husband took great care of Molly even though they had another dog to mind as well, and the two did not get along well at first. They dealt with the situation professionally, and Molly still got all the attention, play, and walk that she needed. She was knackered afterwards. Harini kept me updated as well throughout the day. Very satisfied with the service and will be asking for Harini's help in the future. Thank you”

About: Hi! I’m a huge animal lover, and dogs have always been a big part of my life. Back home, I have my own dog, who I’ve cared for since he was a puppy and is truly the love of my life. Looking after him has taught me how important patience, routine, exercise, and plenty of affection are. Friends and family also trust me to care for their dogs while they’re away, whether that’s feeding, walking, playing, or simply keeping them company. I understand that every dog has their own personality and needs, and I’ll always treat your pet with the same love and care I give my own. I’ll also keep you updated with plenty of photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you’re away I work full-time, but I work from home a couple of days during the week, which gives me extra flexibility to care for your pet. I’m also available in the evenings, weekends, and on my days off for walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting. I’ll always make sure your dog gets plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, and lots of love, and I’ll keep you updated throughout their stay. Your pet’s safety and happiness are my top priorities. I’ll always follow your routine and any instructions you provide, including feeding schedules, walks, medication, and any special requirements. I understand that every dog is different, so I’ll take the time to help them feel comfortable and secure. I’ll treat your pet with the same care and respect as I would my own, and I’ll keep you updated with regular photos and messages so you can relax knowing they’re in safe hands.

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and had my own dog for 14 years, so I’m very comfortable caring for them and understanding their different needs and personalities. I also regularly pet sat a Dachshund for two years, including daytime sitting, walks and overnight stays. I’m reliable, attentive and will always make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable and well cared for while you’re away. FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Athy

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost of Doggy Day Care in Athy is €29 per day as of November 2026. Most bookings cost between €26 and €32 per day.

On Rover, sitters set their own rates based on factors such as their experience, the length of care, the number of pets and your pet’s specific needs. As long as your booking dates and pet profiles are accurate, the pri ce s hown before you confirm is the total, including any booking fee.

As of November 2026, there are 47 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across the city of Athy. About 91% typically respond to requests within 60 minutes.

Enter your address and booking dates to see which sitters are available near you. You can also message multiple sitters to improve your chances of finding the right care.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your working day. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalised environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-to-one attention, and same-day collection and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose 'can host' section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socialising needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters 'Doesn't own a dog' and 'Only accepts one pet at a time' to find the right care.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter must complete an identity verification process before listing their services on Rover. This process checks that the sitter’s identity matches their provided documents.

Identity verification doesn't assess a sitter’s experience or suitability for your pet. To see if a sitter is the right fit, you can review each sitter's profile for ratings, verified reviews, repeat pet owner information and care style. We also recommend arranging a Meet & Greet to discuss your pet’s needs and make sure the sitter is the right fit before booking.

For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page.

Depending on the sitter, their home environment and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities or supervised play with compatible dogs. Every sitter on Rover has their own routine and some may offer flexible activities suited to your dog. 86% of sitters in your city can provide daily exercise during dog boarding bookings.

These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the booking so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

Many sitters on Rover can help with collection and drop-off! You can find the cost of collection and drop-off in their profile under 'See additional rates'.

If you found a day care close to your home in Athy, you can also explore dog walking as an add-on service, which allows your sitter to collect or drop off your dog from their home to yours. Add your location to the search field to find sitters near you and message them directly about transport alternatives.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who've never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover, but you're welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you've previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you're booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you'll have a chance to go through your pet's routine, medical needs and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. A Meet & Greet is a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three- or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-in visits, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12.00 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our booking protection will kick in. This means you'll get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
