About: Walked and taken care of pets since young, worked in vets, farms, yards and volunteered in shelters. Happy to discuss price and hours that suit both parties! Flexible on weekdays and weekends, can discuss a schedule that works for both of us! I have a part time work from home job and pet sit animals part time! I have a 11 year old golden retriever who is absolutely spoiled and is the owner of my house at this point ! Since he is older I try to avoid bringing other animals into my house, but again happy to discuss!

About: Ive had dogs ever since I was young, I have only had a cat a year so have only learnt. I have minded my families and friends pets since I was 16, I am now 19, when they needed, some for shorter periods and others for longer. I love all animals and take really good care of my own so I know I would be confident in ensuring others that I can do the same for them and their pets. I am done college now for the summer so I have a lot of free time, I work a part time job on the weekends, which requires me to be in early on weekends but I do finish early also. A usual shift for me is 6am - 2pm leaving me a whole afternoon to care, play and walk with pets. I care for others pets by making sure they are fed, have fresh water, and get regular exercise and attention. I follow the owner’s instructions carefully, including feeding times, routines, and any special care if needed. I also keep their environment clean, ensure they feel safe and comfortable, and spend time playing with them. When caring for pets in an owner’s home, I respect their space and maintain the pet’s normal routine to reduce stress.

I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter in Yulia. We have a nervous dog and this was our first night away in our new home so even harder for him but Yulia was so understanding and patient. She has a way with dogs and put us at ease the whole time we were away. I will definitely be booking Yulia again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Arklow on Rover is {{median_grand_total_num.as_currency}} per night (as of {{date}}). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting.

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialise in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your Eircode to find a sitter within walking distance in your neighbourhood.

House sitters can stay overnight in your home and care for your pets according to the routine you agree on before the booking.

Depending on your pets’ needs, this may include feeding, walks, play, companionship, medication, providing toilet or litter-box care, and keeping their usual schedule. Some sitters may also agree to light household tasks, such as collecting mail, watering plants, or putting bins out, but these are not automatically included.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss the sitter’s overnight schedule, how long your pets can comfortably be left alone, arrival and departure times, update preferences, and all tasks you would like to arrange. Confirm the agreed responsibilities through the Rover app before booking.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter must complete an identity verification process before listing their services on Rover. This process checks that the sitter’s identity matches their provided documents.

Identity verification doesn't assess a sitter’s experience or suitability for your pet. To see if a sitter is the right fit, you can review each sitter's profile for ratings, verified reviews, repeat pet owner information and care style. We also recommend arranging a Meet & Greet to discuss your pet’s needs and make sure the sitter is the right fit before booking.

For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Arklow choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into your regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who've never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover, but you're welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you've previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you're booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you'll have a chance to go through your pet's routine, medical needs and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. A Meet & Greet is a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When contacting your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
