We have worked with Junny and Jomhel multiple times now and they are wonderful. Junny communicated with us primarily and is always willing to do a call or visit before our stay to assure they are prepared. One of our dogs has epilepsy and requires a very strict medication regimen (which is relatively new) and Junny reached out to warn us that his new medication was running low, even picking up a refill while we were away. We have always felt completely at ease leaving our animals in their care. Very trustworthy, reliable, and respectful of our home. Big thanks to them for their help and wonderful care of our dogs.

Hazyl and Timmy were SO well taken care of! Alex sent daily pictures which I loved. Our house was super clean and our furry animals were happy. We’ve already booked Alex for two more trips we have planned.

Deanna did an exceptional job taking care of Stella while we were in Europe for 3 entire weeks, including by staying an extra night when our flight got delayed. Deanna was communicative, friendly, and clearly connected with Stella right from their first meeting. It was incredibly reassuring to have someone so reliable looking after Stella while we were gone for so long, and so far away. Every day it was clear that Deanna was being extremely attentive, gentle, and thorough with Stella, and she made sure to provide us frequent updates. She even went through a misadventure, when Stella decided to eat a houseplant in the night, and kept us in clear and open communication that reassured us there was nothing to worry about. Deanna even kept my garden alive and thriving throughout, and we came home to an extremely clean house. Overall, we are so lucky Deanna was able to take care of Stella for so long, and so well. Thank you, Deanna!!

Heather is just the best. We were stuck in Vegas due to cancelled flight and she stayed an extra day with the dogs. I am so grateful for her. She is so good with my boys, they are so excited to see her when she comes over. Heather is communicative, caring and takes so many cute photos. This was her second time staying with Koji and Junior while we were on vacation. I will definitely book her again ☺️

We couldn't ask for a better dog sitter then Zalie. I can't say enough good things, she took great care of our senior Border Collie. When we returned home after 4 nights, the place was exactly as we had left it. We highly recommend Zalie, she is truly a professional and tops in her field. Both my wife and I look forward to having her back the next time we leave town.

About: I grew up on a ranch with dogs, cats, horses, and cattle, and my boyfriend who I live with has had dogs his whole life. We love dogs of all size and ages and hope to adopt more in the future. Our schedules line up to where someone would be home with your pup 95% of the time! We offer daily walks and adventures if that’s what your pup needs as well, and lots of toys of course. We have a large fenced yard that your pup can play and run around in. We have a dog as well that they can play with outside or inside. We have crate that your pup can use if that’s what they need.

About: I have been a pet and house sitter for the majority of my life. I truly enjoy spending time with your animals and making sure they are happy and healthy while you are away. This can include anything from daily snuggles on the couch, to walks around the neighborhood, play time in the back yard, or chasing lasers around inside. I have sat for a variety of animals, but prefer to stick with dogs and cats, but if you have other types of pets we can negotiate. I do not do well with giving shots but can handle a medication schedule if needed for senior or special needs animals. I am currently a remote student working on a bachelor's degree. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to be gone from my home so I can come care for yours and your pets. I am trustworthy, quiet, dependable, reliable, and love animals. As I already have pets at home, I do not offer my own in-home care. So, it would be best for me to come to you.

We were only gone a few hours but when our appointment ran a little over, Lizzie was very accommodating. I would highly recommend Lizzie to anyone in need of pet care services!

About: !! MY PRICES ARE SLIDING SCALE FOR PEOPLE WITH FIXED INCOME!! (just message me) I love dogs and all animals, if you have more pets along with your dog I'll happily care for them also! I can care for special needs animals, and accommodate for animals with allergies. I'm very easy to contact and I'll send you frequent updates and pictures of your pets while I'm caring for them! I love dogs of all breeds and sizes. I'll do an initial meeting in your home to make sure your dog(s) are comfortable with me in their territory, and we'll discuss all your pets needs while I socialize with them! I can't wait to give your dogs lots of love and exercise, they'll definitely be spoiled with me as their sitter or Walker. We'll have tons of fun playing together! I'm currently working part time at a local doggy daycare, im looking to find a second source of income doing the thing I love most which is working with animals of all kinds! I work 5 days a week M-F but I'm willing to work around my schedule to accommodate for your pets specific needs! I always go into meeting animals with a lot of patience and care depending on their temperment levels with new people. I never rush into a greeting with a pet because I want them to know they can trust me to respect the boundaries they've set and I won't force interactions. I'm very careful to respect house rules set by the pet owner and maintain a clean environment for the animals to relax in comfortably.

About: I am a former dog trainer at Dog Gone Amazing training and boarding in Reno Nv for the past 4 and half years. I moved to Eureka to have a new start and would love to continue to work with animals. I’ve worked with many different breeds and many different temperaments. I currently have two dogs of my own and a cat as well. I’ve grown up with all sorts of animals, such a horses, chickens, sled dogs and cats. I would love to continue working with new pets and their owners! I currently have 2 dogs and a cat. I’ve also worked as a kennel tech at a boarding/training facility and then moved on to become a trainer at that same facility. I always recommend crates for any situation but in my own home I would crate all dogs and rotate based on how they all get along. Feeding in the crate or separate from other animals. Daily walks or hikes depending on the animal. Cats would get daily enrichment. If weather doesn’t permit or the animal isn’t able to get that day I’d offer mental enrichment such as lick mats, food puzzles, play, training, etc.

About: I’ve worked with all kinds of animals, including horses, dogs, and cats. Most of my experience is from owning pets and taking care of my neighbors elderly dog, and their granddaughters two French bulldogs. I am currently home for summer and have a completely open schedule, I am planning on getting a part time job within the coming weeks, and will adjust my schedule accordingly. I have house sat for many elderly people from my community, along with taking care of neighbors larger property. I have also trained four dogs of my own, and have experience helping other family members training their pets.

Annalee was fantastic with Bagel while I was away. She sent me pictures several times a day, which gave me total peace of mind knowing he was doing well. The best part was that instead of giving me the cold shoulder when I got home (like he usually does after I’ve been gone), Bagel was actually excited to see me! That told me everything I needed to know — he had a good stay and was well cared for. I’d definitely recommend Annalee to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dogsitter.

FAQs for House Sitting - Humboldt Hill

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Humboldt Hill on Rover is $37.6 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 158 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Humboldt Hill. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Humboldt Hill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Humboldt Hill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Humboldt Hill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
