“Cyrus is great! He is very gentle and patient with my fur baby (Payton). She enjoys the time that she spends with Cyrus. He truly makes her comfortable. I have no worries when I leave her. I highly recommend Cyrus to anyone who is looking for a loving home away from home for their baby.”

“Thank you Joyce & Bob for taking good care of Max for us. It was nice to know he was well taken care of while we were away and it gave me great peace. Even know Max is 10 years old, I still see him as my baby boy! Thank you again!”

“Jaelyn is one of my favorite Rover sitters that I’ve encountered so far. I’m so happy that Jaelyn and (and friends,) and my pup Shady, all seemed to be such a great fit for each other. I could tell through the many messages and awesome photos I received, that Shady was getting so much love. He has been so worn out this evening after spending his wonderful weekend adventures with Jaelyn.”

“The absolute best! From the moment we met her, I felt completely comfortable leaving Billie in her care. She is incredibly personable, caring, and attentive. Billie came home happy, exhausted from all the fun, and clearly showered with love and attention. She also had a great time playing with her adorable pup! We couldn’t be happier with the experience and can’t wait to book again. Highly recommend!”

“Jody was wonderful. I traveled to Myrtle Beach from Georgia. At the last minute, I had an issue with my sitter in Georgia. I scrambled to see if I could find someone in Myrtle Beach, and Jody responded immediately. I was so grateful. She quickly answered my questions and addressed my needs. This left me feeling confident that my fur baby would be safe with her. So, we drove 6 hours to Myrtle Beach, met Jody and her fur babies, covered all the essential details, and felt confident Harlee was in good hands with Jody and her fur family.”

“Family friendly home. Fenced yard and clean. My girls were taken great care of, and I was updated through my vacation. I would recommend Amy and will be booking again.”

“If you’re considering hiring Brianna for pet care, just go for it :)! She is trustworthy, reliable, flexible, and a very fast communicator. Our Lily had a blast with her dog Kita :)! We were afraid she wouldn’t want to go home with us lol. Brianna gave us extra peace of mind with all of the pictures and updates she sent. Plus, knowing she had vet tech xp made us feel safe leaving Lily behind after her recent surgery. She was returned to us super happy, healthy, and exhausted :). We hope Brianna ywill be able to watch her again next time! (THANK YOU AGAIN!!)”

“While vacationing in Myrtle Beach I stayed in a motel that did not allow pets so needed to find d inoggy day care near me. My dog is a 60 lb wire haired griffon, sweet natured, but needs her walks every day. Oceana provided loving care to my spoiled baby- took her for long walks, followed my feeding and care instructions, and lots of snuggles on the couch. I was more than satisfied with her care and would recommend her.”

“My Scout had a great stay with Carmen and found a new doggie friend in Tyr. She played and was very comfortable and happy. We will definitely be back next time I need a sitter. Carmen knows dogs and was very reliable and flexible.”

“Samantha was phenomenal with Leo! I was really worried in leaving him but she was very welcoming and he took to her right away!! She sent several pictures and updates daily!! I would definitely have her sit with Leo again!! Top notch baby sitter for your fur baby!!”

“Laura took wonderful care of our 9 month old havanese puppy for 2 weeks. 1st time we’ve left a family pet with someone we didn’t know. We could not be happier. She sent us daily pictures and updates. We were a little concerned she wouldn’t want to come home. Laura understood that leaving our fur baby was stressful and went out of her way to decrease our stress. I would have no reservations using her again and would highly recommend to others seeking reliable, compassionate dog lover.”

“Britney was absolutely fantastic! I’m pretty sure my dog had a better vacation with her than I did😂 great communication and so accommodating. 10 out of 10 would recommend and will definitely be using her in the future (and telling family and friends)!”

“Judy was great. Our dog was treated as part of the family and we got lots of pictures sent during the stay... hanging out watching TV with the folks and chilling with the other dogs. We are traveling but I wish we had a Judy at home. We'd leave our dog with her any time.”

“Jeffrey is a wonderful host. He sent me detailed updates and tons of pictures every day. Our pup was very happy and comfortable spending time with Jeffrey and his family.”

“We had such a wonderful experience with Liz watching our Cootie Girl overnight! She did an amazing job caring for her, especially considering that Cootie is an older girl and needs a little extra patience and attention. Liz’s home was absolutely perfect for Cootie — it was dog-friendly, comfortable, and all on one level, which made things so much easier for her. I could tell right away that Liz genuinely loves dogs and took wonderful care of Cootie. It gave us such peace of mind knowing Cootie was safe, comfortable, and being so well cared for. We would absolutely trust Liz with Cootie again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will treat your dog like family! ❤️🐾”

“Lori and her husband have been fantastic. Our first time allowing someone to keep our Bully. She has kept me up to date with text messages, pictures and videos. Already set up more boarding with her in the future”
“Tinkerbelle is a senior cat and very much spoiled. Mary took excellent care of her and sent us frequent pictures. When we picked her up I do not think she wanted to leave. That is a great compliment. Recomed highly”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Homewood
I couldn't have asked for a better sitter for my fur baby! Michal treated my CoCo like her very own from the moment we met, and it showed in every cuddle and belly rub. She sent adorable pics and videos throughout our trip, which made being away so much easier. I could tell my pup was happy, relaxed, and loved. During the storm, Micah went above and beyond to keep her calm and comforted, and I really appreciated that extra care and attention. It's clear she genuinely loves what she does. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter who will treat their pet like family. We'll definitely be booking again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Homewood home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Homewood.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Homewood sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
