“We are so lucky to have found Breezy here. Our first time using drop in services and we had complete peace of mind while out of town knowing our fur babies would be cared for in our home. Every drop in we received photos and details. Plus our dogs loveeeee Breezy. I’m pretty sure they could care less that we weren’t home because their new favorite person was there.”

“Ingrid was kind and patient with our anxious dog. We just moved 3 weeks ago and he has been trying to figure out what is going on. I will definitely use her again!”

About: I have hands-on experience caring for pets of all ages through my own animals. I have two rescue dogs who I raised from puppies, as well as two cats who I rescued as kittens. My pets currently range from 6 months to 9 years old, so I’m familiar with the different needs that come with puppies, kittens, young pets, and adults. I understand how important it is to leave your pets with someone who will treat them with the same love, patience, and attention they receive at home. I’m happy to follow your pet’s normal routine and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. 🐾❤️ I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. I’m able to work visits and walks into my daily routine and can be flexible with scheduling based on your pet’s needs and routine. I understand that every pet is different, so I’m happy to work with your preferred feeding, walking, medication, and potty schedules to help keep your pet comfortable and on their normal routine while you’re away. 🐾 Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for your pets. I treat every pet as if they were my own and take the time to learn their routines, personalities, and individual needs. When caring for pets in their home, I’m respectful of your space and make sure your pets are safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I follow your instructions closely, including feeding, walks, medications, and any special care they may need. I’ll also provide updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. My goal is for both you and your pets to feel comfortable, confident, and cared for from start to finish. 🐾❤️
“We had a great experience with Andrea. She was incredibly thorough, detail-oriented, and clearly took the time to make sure everything was handled exactly how we like it. Most importantly, Suma really enjoyed her and had a great time playing. She was always prompt and communicative, sending lots of updates, photos, and messages during her visits—which I know many pet owners will really appreciate. You can tell she genuinely cares and puts in the extra effort. She’s newer to Rover, but you wouldn’t know it from the level of care and professionalism she brings. We’d absolutely book her again!”

“Julie took my drop in request last minute even though she usually likes a few days in advance for certain bookings without hesitation. She was very receptive and professional when it came to the whole process. We didn't do a meet and greet due to time constraint but she trusted the info given was enough to follow through anyways and didn't steer her away from taking care of my dogs needs. Julie went above and beyond by sending pictures and keeping the status of all requests updated right on time. Family and I will be using Julie as much as she'll let us in the future, I recommend you do too! Ellie girl said she was happy to have met a new friend! Thank you!”

“Joe was really great! He showed up on time and went above and beyond in walking our dogs and caring for them. He was very friendly also! We will definitely use him again! Thank you, Joe!!”

About: I have extensive experience caring for dogs of all ages, including fostering puppies and caring for older dogs. I’ve trained all of my own dogs and have also helped friends and coworkers with basic training and behavior. I’ve provided dog sitting, house sitting, and drop-in care for coworkers and family members. I’m comfortable with feeding routines, walks, playtime, and helping dogs feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I’m patient, attentive, and treat every dog like my own. I also send regular photo updates so owners can feel confident their pet is happy and safe. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I already care for my own dogs with walks, playtime, and structured routines. I’m available throughout the day for walks, drop-ins, feeding, and playtime. I make sure pets get plenty of attention, exercise, and care while their owners are away. I live in an apartment and keep a clean, safe space for pets. I use baby gates when needed to create separate areas and make sure every dog is comfortable. My two friendly dogs love to play, but I’m experienced with introductions and always supervise interactions. I also give daily walks and sometimes visit the dog park during quieter times. I’m attentive to each dog’s needs and will separate dogs if one needs a break. I’m also happy to send regular photo updates so owners know their pets are safe and happy.
“We used the drop-in visits. Amanda sent photos from every visit. Our dogs looked very happy even though we weren’t there. I would definitely use her service again! Thanks Amanda!”

“Sandy is Echo & Delgota's best friend. They actually waited for her to come at 4p.m. for the next 2 days after we returned home. We have no worries at all about the two cats when we leave home now, with Sandy as their caregiver, which means soooo very much to us. Thank you Sandy for the person you are, we all love you like family.”

About: I've taken care of animals my entire life. Cats, dogs, birds, iguanas, ferrets and a few farm animals too. I was involved in an animal rescue group for several years, fostering many animals who had health issues. I firmly believe that all animals deserve love, shelter, safety, and food. I fall in love with almost every animal I meet! Even chickens! When I'm taking care of an animal, they get a majority of my attention and affection. I do some work from home so it should blend well. I like to meet with the owners and pets a couple of times before to be sure the animals are familiar with me and learn any important information for each pet. I try to follow the owners routine so that the pets are not confused.
About: I have experience looking after puppies, seniors, and even special needs dogs. I also have experience looking after cats and horses! I absolutely love animals and updating owners with photos, videos, texts, etc. I will love your best friend as if it was my own! I am a student at USF St. Pete but other than that I have a lot of free time to look after your best friend! I am hoping to petsit as a part time job so if I get enough clients this will be my primary focus. I will take care of your home and pet, as if it were my own. I clean up, spend time with them, and as soon as something seems off you will be getting a call from me. I take pride in doing the absolute best job I can.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Holder
This was my first time using ROVER, And I am so glad I found Julie. She was fantastic. Provided me with updates about my cat on where he was, how he seemed, and the amount of food / water he was going through, which helped ease my mind. She is very sweet! Highly recommend!

Breezy is the BEST! So friendly, funny, and so fun to communicate with. Thor, our senior German shepherd, was spoiled and loved on, and we came home to a chilled and relaxed pup. Breezy was always on time for each drop-in and even left the cutest card pictures. ☺️ We’re definitely going to be repeat clients for sure!!

Naomi is absolutely amazing, she is kind, honest and trustworthy! She went above and beyond in the best possible ways for me and my family. We were in a difficult situation with our mother needing to leave her pets and go for temporary healthcare after suffering a stroke, Naomi made the pet care for the cats and dog in every way easier for us with no worries on their care and attention.
Sandy is Echo & Delgota's best friend. They actually waited for her to come at 4p.m. for the next 2 days after we returned home. Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
