“Olivia had great communication and offered to help with short notice. It was so nice knowing we could leave for a long period of time and Baxter was taken care of! She took him for a walk and made sure he had fresh water after. Love all the pictures! I will definitely reach out to her again!”

“Madison was incredible. She helped us out last minute and was incredibly flexible and very easy to communicate with. Our dog absolutely loved her. We will definitely be booking with her again!”

About: I have had dogs my entire adult life, up to 7 at one time, including a husky. I now only have 1, since I had to move and left the rest with my old roommate (some were his anyway, and I took the one that had chosen me as his human). Every dog I've ever had was properly trained to at least sit on command - with or without a treat. When I had the 7, I could have the pack surround me, and call them one by one for their treat, and only the one called would reach. People have watched my dog's behavior out in public and have aske if I could train their dogs! I have no formal training for dog training, but I did grow up watching Caesar on Animal Planet, and implemented his behavior training techniques with all of my own dogs when they were puppies, or from the time I accepted them in as strays. I have cared for others pets in the past, but not in a professional capacity. I sat for a friend of mine at her house, caring for 3 dogs and a cat. I fed the cat in the morning and at night and cleaned her litter box once a day. The dogs got fed on the same schedule, and spent the majority of the day outside in the fenced back yard unless it was raining. I went outside and threw balls and sticks for them a few times each day, for about an hour or so each time. I currently do not have a job, so I am available full time, any day or time. I have my own dog who prefers to not let me out of his sight, and will cry if I leave him at home alone, so getting a traditional job while living in an apartment is out of the question. With that said, I would need to bring him with me. He is going on 10 years old, and has never met a dog or person he didn't love. I am glad to bring him for a meet and greet before any commitments are made. Every dog has a way to let you know they need something. My dog prefers to attempt cuddles when he needs anything, leaving me playing a guessing game until I get it right. He gets super excited when I get it right! As a senior dog, I leave his food out 24/7, and check it in the mornings when I get up and at night when I go to bed to make sure it's not empty. If I notice that it's empty at any point during the day, I simply refill it. Same with his water. His potty schedule is pretty much the same - first thing in the morning, any time he asks during the day, and then one last trip out at bedtime. I know not every dog can follow this schedule, but I have also had dogs who needed me to set alarms to take them out every hour or two, until they were properly house trained. All I need from you is your dogs schedule.
About: I have over 10 years of experience with dogs big or small. I’ve had 3 different dogs in my house growing up and have also volunteered at the Sioux Falls humane society. I am currently working full-time and I am on a rotating schedule so I have every other weekend, or Tuesdays and Fridays off. I am available most mornings and evenings. I care for all animals like they are my own. I enjoy giving them all of the love and attention they need. I currently have a 4 year old american bull dog mix, 2 frogs, and 5 fish. I am allergic to cats, so I will love them from afar, if needed I can feed and change litter boxes.

About: I offer a level of professional expertise that sets me apart from standard pet sitters: Veterinary Assistant Experience: Active clinical experience managing medical needs and safely administering all forms of medication. 4+ Years of Professional Daycare Care: Expert in canine body language, pack dynamics, and high-energy socialization. Lifetime Caregiver: Lifelong pet owner dedicated to treating your animal like family. From senior dogs requiring strict medical schedules to young, high-energy pups, your pet's safety and well-being are backed by professional, hands-on clinical experience. Pet care fits seamlessly into my routine because my mornings, evenings, and weekends are highly flexible. Right now, I work full-time but have completely open nights for house sitting and evening check-ins. When my college semester begins, my only busy window is from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on weekdays, leaving my mornings and afternoons completely free for your pets. On weekends, even when working, my schedule allows me ample time to drop in during the morning, mid-day, and night. Because your pet's routine is my priority, I easily plan my day around their specific feeding, exercise, and medication schedules. When caring for pets in your home, my priority is maintaining their exact routine while providing hospital-grade safety and observation. For house sitting, I treat your home with total respect and keep your pet stress-free in their familiar environment. For drop-ins and walks, I focus on heavy engagement, proper leash handling, and structured enrichment. Because of my veterinary assistant training, my care includes a thorough daily health assessment: I double-check hydration, monitor appetite, track bathroom habits, and safely administer any required medications exactly on time. I also utilize low-stress handling techniques to ensure anxious or shy pets feel safe and comfortable with me.
About: I've provided pet services and pet/house sitting for a small group of people I've known and been referred to. I've been wanting to expand my clientele, as I have a lot to offer. Although I consider it to be a small side gig, I like to refer to my business affectionately as "No Place Like Home". I have 20 plus years experience, including managing a dog day care for two years. It also includes working with special needs, administering medication orally and through injections. I have references as well as my own personal experience with my cat. I am energetic and can keep up with even the most active dogs. They are my passion. Not only that, pet sitting in your house creates a calmer and safer environment for your pets, as well as keeping your home safe and occupied. I am semi retired. I have a lot of time to spend with your pets in your home ensuring several potty breaks, play and exercise. I will care for your pets as if they are my own. I follow instructions left by the owner and will ensure play and exercise
“Brianna is a first rate dog walker and was so caring with my little 4 pound toy poodle. I will contact her to care for/walk my dog every time I am in the area. She walked my dog 8 times and was prompt and attentive each time. Dunkin' loved Brianna!”
About: As far back as I can remember, my family always had at least one dog/cat, each one of them holding a special place in my heart. I, now, am a proud dog parent of two Blue Heelers, Izzy and Brutus. I love every kind of dog and cat. I have experience with elder dog care and puppy care. I have a job where I work Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday. All 12 hour days. So, I would be completely booked up on those days. The other days I would be incredibly happy to spend time with your little loved one! I would make sure to have clear and open conversations with you about your animals throughout the day/night. I can give updates on when they go to the bathroom. I can, also, send pictures of them.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
