“Stacey was absolutely incredible and is now our go to when we need to leave our dog alone. She arrived early and left late making sure he was fully taken care of. Our dog is a new puppy, barely trained with excessive energy. I would love to keep her to ourselves but recommend her for absolutely any dog!”

“Neysha and Teddy are absolutely the most amazing house/dog sitters we have ever had. They are two of the sweetest and most caring people you will ever meet. Neysha stayed with our home during a hurricane and a power outage and did it all while remaining the most calm and collective person. She gave our dog, Odin, the most amazing treats and toys and took the most amazing care of him during our vacation. We will 100% have them back and I’m sure Odin is counting down the days till they bring him more toys!”

“Jesika stayed at our house with our two poodles for 13 days! Jesika was phenomenal! She send photos everyday. She watered my plants, and the house was spotless. She even washed our sheets the day we returned!”

“Kimberley did great and Olivia the greyhound seemed quite pleased in the photos. We would definitely recommend her for your pup. The place was immaculate upon our return”

“E-Irma did a great job of watching and house sitting for my two dogs while I was out of town. She provided me regular updates and pictures of my two dogs enjoying her company. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter and I will look to use her again on my next trip.”
“Rabia was great with both Griff and Shae! They were tired after the day with her which is always the best. Rabia was also very communicative and took lots of pictures. Would highly recommend!”

“Abbie was amazing! Had to book a last minute house sit and she helped out with everything I needed to be helped out with! She did an amazing job with sending me pics and communicating as well. My kitties loved her :)”

About: Animals have always been a passion of mine, and i’ve always found a way to be around them whether it’s volunteering at animal shelters to interning at wildlife refuges. In college I interned at a wildlife center in Texas where I was a caretaker for many exotic species such as ostriches, emus, lynxes, and pheasants, I’ve always been the go to person for taking care of pets within my community. It started with me taking care of my aunt’s dogs while she was away, to my aunt’s neighbor’s dogs, to dogs of my professors, and so on. However, I began to professionally pet sit in 2018 receiving most of my clients through word of mouth. Through moving to New York city, I lost the network that I built back home. Through pet sitting I gained experience for caring for dogs, cats, and even birds. I also have knowledge in caring for animals with special needs and administering medication to animalsof all ages and sizes. I love to play and run around with dogs, so they will definitely be in for a workout! I would love to be able to provide the love and care that your dog needs and deserves while you’re away from home. I’m currently working varied hours, so my schedule can be flexible to your pets! No time is too early for me to rise to ensure that your pet’s routine is maintained. My number one goal is to ensure that your pet is comfortable in their own home. This means maintaining their schedule, reassuring their social needs, and most of all giving them love. I will do safety checks throughout the day to ensure harmful objects are out of reach. As a pet sitter, it’s important to provide a trustworthy and reliable service. While you’re gone, your pet will be undergoing a stressful time. So although you may not be present, it's important that your pet’s day to day life remains the same.During this time they’ll also receive love and nurturing. Communication is key during your time away, so you should expect a daily update on how your pet is doing. Lastly, I only take one client at a time to ensure that I can spend ample time with your pet.
About: I’ve been dog sitting since I was a teenager. From 20 year old chihuahuas, nursing day old kittens, and 80lb king German shepherds.. I’ve volunteered at a few animal shelters. Taking care of animals is a passion of mine. My work schedule is 7-4, Monday- Friday and have evenings and weekends free. Over the weekends I am available all day and evening. For week days I can visit your furry baby any time after 4! I have a big fenced in yard and have two loving and playful dogs that enjoy making friends. I have 2 cats that are incredibly friendly but also leave my dogs alone. I have crates available and my neighborhood has sidewalks that are perfect for dog walking.
“We had a great experience with Suvanna. She took care of my two large dogs for more than three days. She followed all the instructions and stuck to my dogs’ schedule. Both of them were really happy with her. I would definitely take her help again next time.”
“Sarah was very accommodating and took great care of the dogs while we were away. She communicated throughout her visit and sent us some pics! Very grateful for a good experience with Sarah!”

“From the first interaction through Rover, Eva was timely, professional, friendly, and thorough. She was a great a communicator and very thoughtful with my doggies. I could tell I would very much appreciate how attentive and interactive she was, with my pets as well as giving me updates while I was away. She had the initiative to ask detailed questions about my pets and took notes, offered to bring treats for them and even played with them outside. Since one my dogs has incontinence issues, she even brought items to protect my furniture. Overall, I am very pleased with Eva and encourage anyone to have confidence in booking with her. I look forward to rebooking with her myself.”

About: ❗️If your house has any signs of fleas, do not book with me.❗️I have always grown up with pets in my house hold, i have always token care of them when no one else did and gave them the love they deserve. We are with them their entire lives, while they are with us for only a portion. I will be gentle and patient with them until they gained my trust. I can bathe them and play with them too, i cannot groom though. But i can make them smell all yummy! College student! I do go to college all year, even in the summer! (she eats at her own pace so i just top off her bowls) She is trained to sit, paw, talk, wait, and lay down! She is my first daughter and my soul dog! I love her to death!!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hillcrest
Kimberly was a wonderful house/pet sitter. She sent photos and lectures the house in perfect condition. Not only that but we hired her literally at the last minute and she made time to come do the walk through so we could all meet one another. We will absolutely book her again.

Leaving my dogs while I go on vacation always gives me anxiety, but with Sidney, I never felt an ounce of that. She made me feel so comfortable from our first convo, to the meet and greet, and even throughout her stay with my two dogs. Her communication was excellent, and I loved receiving photos of my pups before I could even ask. Sidney also took great care of my home, and that was really nice to see everything was clean and tidy when I walked in. I can’t wait to book with her again, and my pups can’t wait to hang out with their new Auntie Sid! 🐾

Neysha is quite literally the only person, apart from my husband and I, who I trust to care for our elderly cat, Lily. She also does an amazing job caring for our other fuzzy babies (of which there are many 😂). But ultimately she cares for the things that are the most precious to us, and they adore her.

E-Irma did a great job of watching and house sitting for my two dogs while I was out of town. She provided me regular updates and pictures of my two dogs enjoying her company. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter and I will look to use her again on my next trip.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hillcrest walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hillcrest maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hillcrest choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
