“My two dogs had a great time with John. My neighbor saw him walking the dogs and was impressed with his enthusiasm and care. I agree. Thanks John for helping me out. I will definitely try to book John again the next time.”

“Absolutely — here’s a warm, enthusiastic review that highlights Julia’s reliability and the peace of mind she gives you while you’re at work: Julia is absolutely wonderful! She takes such great care of my dog, Arlo, while I’m away at work, and I couldn’t be happier with her. She is dependable, caring, communicative, and truly treats Arlo like he’s her own. Knowing that Julia is coming by during the day to let Arlo out gives me such peace of mind. She goes above and beyond to make sure he gets some attention, care, and a much-needed break during the day. I highly recommend Julia to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate dog walker. She has been amazing with Arlo, and I feel completely comfortable knowing he is in such good hands while I’m at work. We are so grateful to have found her!”

“Courtney is the best! She was available to walk my dog last minute and even stopped by for a meet and greet. Great communication. She took him to the park, which he loves. I felt like he was in good hands especially with her background as a vet tech. Thank you!”

“Max is awesome! She is sweet with my doggy, she leaves messages every time she walks him to update me and takes lots of pictures. She has also befriended my shy cats! Thankful to have her take care of my babies;)”

“Allison was absolutely amazing! She’s so nice & took great care of my pup. Very good with updates & photo updates. Definitely someone Id feel comfortable booking with in the future! & I’m very nervous about my fur baby!”

“Nathan & Meredith are amazing! From arranging meet & greet, communications through app, and the thoughtful notes after every walk, they are really caring to your pets. My dog enjoys spending time with them so much!”

“Paul and his fiancée do a great job with my Husky. My dog normally doesn’t enjoy other humans, and he loses his appetite when I travel. But Paul’s energy didn’t bring any of those concerns out.”

“Today was my dog’s first solo walk with Shanisa and I couldn’t be happier! Shanisa and I worked extensively with my dog to get him comfortable with her because he is usually very wary of strangers. He warmed up to Shanisa quickly and was comfortable with her in our home just by themselves. I now have more freedom and less worry knowing my dog will be safe and cared for when I cannot be home.”

“Matt is very reliable and good with my dogs!! Matt has even gone the extra mile when I had asked him last minute to let my contractor in when I wasn't able to leave work! Glad to have found Matt when I moved to this area!”

“Lauren was very sweet and took it nice and slow with my dog. My dog warmed up very quickly to her and that makes me very happy because my dog can be very shy when meeting new people….definitely will rebook again.”

Jacob was fantastic! He took Philya on a great, long walk with plenty of room to run around and burn off his energy, which is exactly what he needed. He sent lots of photos during the walk, and it was clear Philya had a wonderful time. I’d definitely book with him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable dog walker!

Lili visited with both Molly and I for a pre walk conversation for her to get to know Molly since Molly can be super finicky. Lili was patient and calm while Molly barked and sniffed and eventually calmed and got to know her. I think Lili and Molly will be good friends!!

- 90% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
