“Chris has been an absolutely amazing dog walker! We moved here from out of town and our poor dog was a little stressed with all the life changes and not having his usual walkers. However Chris came to the rescue and our pup got his pep back in his step! 10/10 would reccomend him as your dog walker!”

“Thanks for always taking such good care of Walter! He seems to enjoy his time with you and I love the information you give us. You also take the best pictures of Walter ever!!”

“Michael does a great job with our dogs. He is super reliable and the dogs are happy to see him. I highly recommend Michael for anyone needing a dog walker.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and other pets of friends, neighbors and family! I helped with walking, feeding, bathing, and overall care for their pets! I am currently an RN and currently working 4 days a week with 1 day remote. Need an extra stream of income and love working with pets! I currently live in an apartment, has a lot of space and in a quiet neighborhood. There are parks nearby and a walkable neighborhood, which are great for walks!

“Charlotte came to walk my dog three times when my partner was a patient at Cleveland Clinic and I was staying at a hotel nearby. She dealt with some logistical difficulties with the hotel and took care of Ahsoka. She got Ahsoka some exercise and dealt with her reactivity. Her communication was excellent and I could tell Ahsoka had been well-cared for.”

“Cece is a gem! I think Oliver had the best walk of his life with her. She came exactly on time, spent such good time with him, let him meet neighbors (he's a bit of a local celebrity), and sent amazing photos. His absolute joy was so obvious. Thank you, Cece! We can't wait to have you walk Oliver again.”

About: I’ve provided care for animals since I was a young child. Successfully completed a basic dog training course at Alaska SPCA in 2016. My skill ranges from walks to grooming, I’ve got you covered! Currently, I’m working full-time with free availability Sunday through Tuesday! I will require at least a three day notice before the date of booking. Please message me for any questions you may have! I have a balcony and plenty of space for your fur baby to lounge and play. Currently my roommate is an agreeable cat. Chai is pleasant and tolerable to other cats and small dogs.
“Kaley was absolutely wonderful! She cared for my two, very large (and occasionally rambunctious) labradors for two weeks while I was in Pittsburgh for business. I can offer superlatives only for her reliability and her kindness to my boys, who adored her. I recommend her 100%!”

“I booked Octavia for a last minute walk with my pup and everything was fantastic! We had good communication, she was on time, and she gave a great summary at the end of the walk. I’m adding her to my roster of walkers ASAP.”

About: I have always loved dogs of all sizes and truly enjoy caring for them. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, or making sure your dog feels comfortable while you’re away, I treat every pet like they’re my own. I understand how important routine, safety, and trust are, and I’m committed to providing reliable, loving care every time. I grew up with a dog starting in middle school, which sparked my love for working with animals. In college, I regularly dog sat for a variety of dogs, including both boarding and in-home stays, and gained experience with different personalities and needs. While I’m not able to have a dog of my own right now, I love spending time caring for others’ pets. This is my second year in Cleveland, and I’m excited to build connections with local families. It truly brings me joy to care for dogs and make sure they feel happy, safe, and loved. I currently work as a teacher, and am looking to stay busy during the summer and loving others pets is the perfect way to do so. I work full-time as a teacher, so my availability is primarily on weekends during the school year. In the summer, I’m available daily after 12:00 PM. I love using that time to stay active while providing fun, engaging walks and care for dogs. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priority while caring for them. I love learning each individual dogs routine, and preferences. I also ensure that I read closely to any instructions regarding the dogs care. I always keep the dog on a leash to ensure their safety outdoors, and strive to ensure each pet gets the right amount of exercise and rest. I love to play and to pet and rest with the dogs. I will follow the dogs lead and their schedule to ensure the dog is comfortable and happy while you are away. I also love to send pictures while you are away and communicate anything unexpected to ensure you are informed even while you are gone about your pets safety.
“Dasha was awesome! She texted me updates throughout Wilma's walk/visit and even brought in our packages from our front porch. She followed all of the directions we left to a T, but most importantly she took great care of our dog and made her long day alone less lonely. We will definitely use her again. Wilma had a great time with Dasha!”

About: Admittedly I have limited experience when it comes to taking care of pets. I have had a Great Dane as a kid but that's about it. However, I am more than willing to learn more about pet care. Whether it's walking a dog or taking care of a cat, it doesn't matter to me. I am currently working at a part-time restaurant job, taking a college class so I may transfer to another college one day, and volunteering at the museum of natural history. When I'm near animals, I give them my undivided attention. When I had my Great Dane as a kid, I've managed to feed him and take him on walks (I had to have help with him; he was nearly as big as me at the time.)
About: I’ve helped take care of and train dogs of various sorts and sizes since I can walk along with my dad. I’ve gotten my love for animals as a whole from him and it’s the perfect therapy and job. Having many dogs, cats, birds, turtles, fish and pet crabs throughout my life has helped me to have an extra sense of care, love, and attention for all animals. I’m currently working part-time, so I’m available to play, train, and care for your lovable furry friend 7 days a week from 8am to 2pm and 9pm to 12am. I have a fenced front yard and backyard for your lovely pets to freely roam and play with me. I also have a 7 year old Shih Tzu and a 2 year old cat (both females) whom are very loving, calm, and ecstatic to meet a new friend. A crate is available upon request as well.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.
Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Highland Hills. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.
For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Highland Hills.

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Highland Hills. On Rover:
- 95% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
