About: I've grown up taking care of cats and dogs. My professional pet sitting experience includes small and large dog breeds, as well as cats. I have a background in animal science and care so I am the ideal sitter for pets with high medical needs and elderly pets. I am willingly to take dogs on long walks or runs, and take them to the park. I am not certified, but I can do basic training (sit, stay, etc) and leash training. I currently work from home, so I am available at home 24/7. Great for pets that are potty training or need multiple play times a day. I abide with the rules and schedule of the owner. Not required, but I encourage a meet and greet for first time clients for care instructions and to ask any questions.

“I was TERRIFIED of the thought of leaving my fur baby with a complete stranger. From the moment Kelsey stepped into my home- I instantly had a great feeling. Sonza warmed up to her immediately! Throughout the week- I never, not one time, wondered if Sonza was ok. Kelsey sent pictures and videos, essentially maintained a mini diary while we were away! Kelsey communicated every step of the way… keeping our minds at ease!! She has a sitting family for life!! 10/10 DEFINITELY recommend! Kelsey, Thank you for caring for our girl with so much intention, love and compassion!!! You’re welcome by anytime!!!”

“Sarah was absolutely amazing with our two dogs and cat. She listened to instructions, provided lots of photos with every visit, and gave us very thorough update on all of their activities during the day. We will definitely be using her again in the future!”

“Such a sweet person and took great care of my fur babies! Kept me updated every day and sent pictures as well. Highly recommend Samantha for future pet sitting needs!”

“Our pets love Kelsey. They got play time and meal time when she arrived for a home visit. We have two very active kitties who were well taken care of while we were gone. We felt very good about leave ng both of them in her care while we traveled.”

About: i have some experience working at a veterinary hospital and a dog daycare/ boarding and those were honestly my two favorite jobs. Friends, family, and neighbors have also trusted me the opportunity to care for their pets , and i just absolutely love all fur babies I am currently doing a self paced school to be a licensed vet tech and work part time :) other than that im pretty much open availability I also have two very playful and sweet fur babies of my own to keep ur baby company and there is plenty of room for them to run around in the back. If i am in a clients home i respect all boundaries that are made and im just really there to focus on ur pet and make sure they are taken care of, i can occasionally provide some toys and maybe treats if allowed :)
“Ashley is a godsend. I know when I’m away, my kitty cats are in great hands. I’m always thrilled when Ashley is available to cat sit for me. She’s the ultimate professional…on the ball and responsive.”

“Abby has done a great job with our two dogs. She followed all the instructions we left and over communicated if anything came up which is what any pet parent cares about when leaving their fur children to someone else. Thanks Abby for providing great care to our dogs!”

“Cheyenne did an amazing job! She took very good care of the dogs she was booked for and even played with my cats and animals that weren't booked. Usually my animals don't take to people right away and they took to her immediately!”

“We had a scare from our pups getting into stuff they shouldn't have. Kayla notified us, stayed twice as long as normal, contacted a local vet for advice, and implemented the medication we requested. We're so comfortable and relieved having her part of our support system!”

About: When it comes to family pets, from tiny little munchkin cat breed all the way to Irish Wolfhound, they all deserve the love and respect as a extended family member (or sometime even as our own fur baby). Being raised around Chows and Aussie Shepards, I have experience in both “aggressive” and friendly breeds. A critter is only as bad as the owner. As long as there is at least 24-48hr notification, I’m a pretty flexible person. Seven days a week I’d be available to drop in and say hi, play a little, feed and do potty breaks. Clean as I go to include litter boxes. If being asked to stay overnight, it would be at your location for the best comfort of the animal. My house is a fenced in yard. We typically, based on weather, have my pups run outside once very 2/3 hours. Outside of that, we do regular walks up to 2 miles at least twice a week (again, based on weather). We play games like catch and hidden treat games for enrichment. For the family cat, he is currently maintained by one of my kids but, we allow him free roam and sometimes trips outside on a leash. He has a XXL dog kennel that we will set up when we are outside and he wants to join us to ensure he is bird safe. He very much likes to be a window watcher and enjoys the squirrels a little more than my dogs.
“Samantha was amazing! She let me know how they were doing each time and sent such great photos! I think my dogs miss her now. 😀 I will definitely ask for Samantha again. My dogs lived her. It means so much to those who worry when they are away from their kiddos to have such great help. Thank you, Samantha!”

“Hannah provided awesome care for my three dogs while I was gone for a weekend trip. She went above and beyond by offering to brush the dogs, and bringing in deliveries. I highly recommend Hannah for your pet care needs, and I’ll be a repeat customer!”

“We cannot say enough great things about Alexis! She recently watched our dogs again, and just like always, she did an amazing job. From daily updates to thoughtful care, she treats our pups like they’re her own. It’s such a relief knowing they’re in great hands when we’re away. Our dogs absolutely love her, and we feel completely at ease leaving them in her care. From here on out, Alexis will always be our go-to person for dog sitting. Reliable, caring, and professional—she’s simply the best!”

About: Ive always had pets growing up. I currently live with my mom and her two dogs. I've also cared for bearded dragons before and I also have a 65lb sulcata tortoise. I've dealt with dogs of all sizes, from weiner dogs, to hound mixes. I love all pets, but I'd say my favorite type of dogs are pugs because I find them extremely cute. I currently do gig work for my income. I mostly do instacart from about noon until 10pm most days. I feel like Doing gig work would make me more flexible to take care of pets vs somone with a 9-5 job. I can't offer boarding because my one dog is weird about other animals sometimes. However, id be more than happy to dog sit for days that you are out of town, or simply go over and let the dogs out to go potty if you didn't need someone to stay over. I can come over to your house to give your dog food/water, as well as let them out for potty breaks on a visit. I can also stay overnight if you need that as well.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Highland Farms. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
