“We have used Travis a few times now. Both times he has been such a great, informative dog sitter. Both of my dogs adore him:). This most recent visit, Travis shoveled our walkways and our driveway, just wow. This was totally above and beyond what was expected. Travis also left us a yummy treat he had made while staying at our home. If there were more than 5 stars, Travis would get them. We look forward to seeing him again in Feb while we take off for a cruise. It’s a great feeling to be able to leave home, leave to another state, and feeling confident our fur loves are in great hands. Thank you so much Travis. :)”

About: I've had dogs my whole life. Currently, we have two cats, which is easier with our sports schedule, but I miss having a dog to walk. So, I thought I'd see if you needed help with yours. I'm working part-time and own a business. Both provide me flexibility to be there when your dog needs me. My kids are old enough for me to be gone for short stints. Prefer walking schedules during, morning, afternoon, or late evening as those provide me the best opportunity to give your pets the attention they deserve. Experience walking dogs with leash aggression. Can typically recognize it in your dog or the dogs we are approaching. Will always keep animals leashed in public.

“Mariah did an excellent job taking care of my 3 babies. She paid extra attention to my senior Springer who needs meds 3 times a day. She's a very empathetic pet sitter, and great communication!”

“We really appreciated Jenna accepting our short notice request for her to “house sit” our dog Simon for 3 days and nights. She reported no particular problems nor concerns. Jenna related that Simon did fine and she sent us a couple of photos and stated in communication when we checked in. It was nice to see the house just like we left it too ! We were happy with Jenna and would use her again !”

“Sasha is so great with our two dogs. They love her energy and have so much fun when she’s around. She takes them on walks, takes excellent care of them, and gives regular updates! She is our go-to dog sitter currently!”

“I had a great experience with this sitter. 🙂 She stopped over to meet my senior dog who can be timid around strangers before I left town and my dog took to her right away. She is reliable and communicates often with updates, photos, and videos. 🙂”

“She was beyond great with our Mastiff McBarker for a week and stayed in our home. We didn’t have cell service where we were and she was very accommodating by making sure we had updates for when we did find WiFi to check in. Came home to a less stressed pup from having someone with him. Highly recommend her! 🐾”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs in my childhood. In the past two ish years I’ve watched some family members dogs. And for a little over a year I had two cats with my roommate. I don’t have skills I’m just here for a good time lol. The weekends I have available I’ll be free for the most part. Maybe some volunteering for a max of 4 hours but that’s it. Other request I’d have to see based off my work schedule. I would do everything instructed of me. Feed at scheduled time (or make sure there is food in the bowl). Fresh water every day. Try to play outside depending on weather.
About: I've had pets since I was very little (including exotics) and currently have 3 cats. I am a veterinary assistant so I am able to administer medications and pay close attention to your pets health and behavior! I am currently working full time but have fixed hours (off on Thursdays and weekends) from 7am to 5-6pm. I am available at any time that I am not working. In the past I have done pet sitting for both cat and dog owners and used to work at a daycare. For dogs I make sure they are fed, medicated and watered first thing in the morning, then take them for a walk. I will clean anything that needs to be freshened up and play with the dog throughout the day and repeat at night. For cats it's relatively the same excluding the walk and I will clean the litter box twice daily to make sure it is always clean.
About: I have helped my daughter take care of her dog when she was on vacation multiple times. I really enjoy going on walks, so your dog will be pretty active. I currently work part-time on Saturday and Sunday, totaling 10 hours. I am free to help with any pet care needs, and will not be out of the house for too long. Pets aren’t just pets, they’re family. I will care for your pet the way you would and make sure they’re getting the love and attention they need!
“Brianna and Tyler took great care of our dog Kingsley while we were on vacation in Florida. They house sat for us while gone and provided updates on Kingsley via text message. Thank you so very much and we hope you will watch Kingsley again in the future!”

“Amanda was so great! She handled my very particular GSD with grace. She gave my baby lots of exercise and love and updated me often with pictures. She even went above and beyond and watched over our reptiles as well. We came home to a happy and tired pup.”

About: I’m the type of person who goes to a party and makes friends with the dog. My friends know I’m around when they see a blanket covering up their sleeping pup. My family has nicknamed me dog girl because I take on the challenge of caring for all of them during family functions. I have experience with dogs who need medication, eye drops, ear drops, or who have health issues. I work from home so I am able to hangout with your pet all day! I have a very flexible work schedule if appointments are needed. I prefer to care for dogs in my home but can watch in your home, let out during the day, and check on your home if away. At my home I leash all pets when letting them out. Dogs are allowed on my furniture, I even have a chair next to my work desk incase they want to lounge around on the job.

About: I have been a dedicated animal lover my entire life. I understand that leaving your pets behind is difficult, which is why I make it my mission to minimize their stress. I treat every dog as if they were my own by providing them a safe, engaging, and stress-free environment. Whether it is an overnight house sitting, daytime drop-ins, or energizing dog walks, I tailor every visit to your pet’s routine, ensuring their comfort, happiness, and your total peace of mind. I am currently working part-time, which will ensure that I have plenty of time to play and take care of all of your dogs' needs. Choosing the right pet sitter is about trust. Here is why pet parents choose me to care for their furry family members: Reliability & Communication: I provide regular updates and prompt communication so you never have to wonder how your pup is doing. Safety-First Mentality: I am highly observant of dog body language and ensure safe leashing and a calm environment. Tailored Care: Whether your dog is a high-energy puppy who loves long walks or a senior who prefers quiet drop-ins, I strictly follow your routines.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Highland Beach walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Highland Beach maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Highland Beach choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
