About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life, I’ve loved learning how each dog is different and what kind of care they need. I care for my own dog and family friends dogs as well. I am currently unemployed, while doing online schooling full time, I only have zoom meetings Monday and Wednesday from 1:30-2:50 but I am available anytime! I make sure to follow all the owner’s instructions carefully, provide fresh water and food on time, give lots of attention and play, and keep their home clean and safe for the pets. I also watch for any signs of discomfort or health issues and make sure the pets feel comfortable and loved while their owners are away.
“So pleased with my first experience having Lila dog sit our one-year-old Australian Shepard for 2 days in our home. She is very organized, asked good questions to taylor her care, offered good training tips and was successful in getting her to "settle". Most important of all, she formed a lasting bond with her as evidenced by Echo wanting to go into the guest room for several days in a row to look for her, sniff where her belongings were layed, and making me open the closet doors to make sure she wasn't in there! I look forward to having Lila care for our pup again.”

About: I’ve loved and cared for animals for as long as I can remember. Currently, each of my family members is in a transitional stage of life (kids are in college), myself included (contemplating the next chapter), so none of us has any companion animals for the time being. Fostering has filled the gap somewhat and I’ve found that pet & house sitting does, too! I was an at-home wife & mom & spent my adult years homeschooling, volunteering, caretaking through cancer, organizing, and caring for a large home/pool/property &, of course, for our companion animals. I'm not a "neat freak," but I will leave another's home as it was found, or cleaner. I'm compassionate & nurturing by nature, so please feel free to let me know your needs and wishes. My schedule is entirely flexible, with advance notice. For those farther away: I love to travel and appreciate requests to sit in far-off locations; however, I must ask that either 15-30 days notice is provided for making arrangements (& finding affordable flight deals, which I will happily do & pay for, if the location is one I’d have visited anyway) OR that travel be paid for in full by the pet parent as part of the job. (Nightly rates can be adjusted to account for costs such as gas, flights, and/or ground transportation.) Please be mindful that international travel can cost into the thousands of dollars, may require more than 30 days for planning, and is not typically in my own budget. My passport is ready, though! I’m pleased to be being considered for this important job! Please know that I'll be available via phone/text (& trust that you will, too, at least for emergencies), would love to share pics if you wish (or would be happy to limit communication, if that's your preference), am adept at managing minor issues of urgency independently (but will confer with you if at all possible, as soon as possible), and will take seriously any necessary special precautions for the animals or the home (escape artists, meds, anxiety/sleep needs, food limitations, no off-leash time or things like mail/trash, off-limits rooms, a toilet that's out of use, plant handling, etc.). I'm largely a homebody and my primary goals are to be someplace new/different & be with your babies, so I will be present daily, including overnight if that’s what we’ve arranged, and will not host parties or people (unless one or both of my grown kids are with me, which we'll have discussed in advance). I might spend significant time studying if I'm taking a class (most likely online) and I may need to handle some of the tasks of daily life (getting groceries, etc.) during longer stays, but my priority will be to keep the animals and home you've entrusted me with safe, properly cared for, and tidy in your absence. That said, if there are places your buddy(ies) wanna go (trails, beaches, dog parks, obedience classes, the groomer's, etc.), we'll get out of the house and get our energy out! (And if slow/short walks or lots of lap time are what's in order, we'll readily do that, too.)
About: Hello I’m a dedicated, honest, and reliable pet sitter/walker. I have loved animals my whole life, my family has always had multiple dogs at a time. I was 16 when I started working at a doggy day care (called stay and play dog care), where I got to work around no less than 15 dogs at a time and I absolutely loved it. I was in charge of walking, feeding, training, playing and occasionally staying the night with them. I have the ability to walk up to 8 dogs at one. I left that job for schooling to become a Certified Veterinary Assistant, I am currently working in the veterinary field but I would love to pet sit in my free time. I have crates and a fenced yard for any time dogs will have to be left alone but I try my best not to leave them while they are in my care. I will care for your pet like one of my own. I am currently home full time so I have all the time in the world to spend with your pets while they’re in my care! While your pets are in my home they will have lots of toys to play with as well as fresh water in several different locations. I do recommend that you bring the food your pet is used to as the less change the better for your animals stress levels.
About: I’ve had dogs since I was 5 years old. I have experience with both small and large breeds. It will be all love and play that your furbaby won’t even notice you’re gone! I work full time on weekdays (11am-6pm), with a 30 min commute, and am available early mornings and evenings. On weekends I am free almost all day. I have a dog at home and cannot care for more at my place due to limited space. I am happy to care for others at their home.

“Karen watched our fur family for a week and we found her to be responsible, caring, engaged, conscientious and trustworthy, Karen has a true love of animals, and she connected with our pets right away. Animals were well taken care of, their regular schedule maintained, the house was tidy, and all plants watered and in healthy condition. We would love to have her stay with our furkids again. :) A great experience”

“Hayley did a fantastic job under very challenging circumstances. Rags is extremely fearful of fireworks and also separation anxiety. Hayley sat for her over the 4th of July weekend when both of these conditions were exacerbated. Hayley was extremely caring and worked closely to try and alleviate her anxiety. I sincerely want to thank her and recommend her as a sitter.”
“Christopher is a true dog lover and I feel fortunate to have found him to take care of my pack whenever I’m not around. I have a lot of attendant anxiety when trying to pair my dogs with a suitable sitter- for no other reason than that they need a lot of exercise and ask for a lot of attention. Christopher alleviated every ounce of attendant stress experienced by leaving my dogs in someone’s care. He took my dogs on outings, updated me with charming photos and was completely unflappable when it came to managing two high energy and young labs along with a corgi who needs to herd everyone to feel fulfilled. On top of all of this, Christopher took excellent care of my home- maybe even leaving it cleaner than I did for him. 5 stars for Christopher, absolutely!”

About: Hey there! My name is Sydney and I absolutely love all animals, big and small. I have dog sat and walked many dogs, from tiny toy poodles to massive Pharaoh hounds. I have two pups myself so I’m very familiar with unique behavioral needs/patterns of dogs. I also grew up in a home with 8 cats so am very comfortable with cats as well. I can walk your dog frequently or even run with them. No matter what kind of dog (or cat) you have, I'd love to take care of them. Feel free to contact me through phone/email! My work schedule is fairly flexible which allows me to meet you and your pets' needs, whether that involves overnight, mid-day or even extended care. I know how important it is to have someone you can really trust to leave your pets with when you go out of town. I will care for your pet in your home like they’re my own.
“Cecilia was amazing! She was super easy to connect with and took amazing care of our dog and house. We will definitely be asking her back in the future. Thank you, Cecilia!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hidden Valley Lake walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hidden Valley Lake maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hidden Valley Lake choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hidden Valley Lake. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
