“It can feel uneasy opening your home to a stranger, so it was such a relief to have Jennifer. ☺️ Thank you, Jennifer, for taking the time to meet and greet, being accountable, communicating so well, and providing such great care. It gave me peace of mind knowing my pet was in such good hands! 💖”

“Mara was wonderful with our Goldendoodle. She was very kind and energetic and matched our dogs enthusiasm for play. We could tell right away her love and care for our pet was just like her own.”

“Jonathan is an awesome dog sitter! I will definitely hire him again in the future. He kept me informed about how Bear was doing during the entire stay. I came home to my home being in great shape too. Bear was happy to see me, but I think.he misses Jonathan.”

I’m great at keeping routines consistent, encouraging positive behavior, and giving pets plenty of playtime, attention, and affection. I care for pets with patience, consistency, and lots of attention so they feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I previously had a dog who sadly passed away after 13 years, which gave me a lot of experience and love for caring for animals through every stage of life. I currently have a poodle and a doodle who have had puppies together, and I also have two of their puppies, so I’m very familiar with caring for multiple dogs with different personalities and energy levels.
About: Hi! I’m a huge animal lover and have been around dogs for as long as I can remember. I currently have three dogs and one cat, so caring for pets is part of my everyday life. I treat every pet like they’re my own, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or just keeping them company, my goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your fur baby is in caring hands while you’re away. I’m currently a cosmetology student and work part-time. Since I haven’t started school yet, I have plenty of free time to dedicate to pet care. Even once classes begin, I’ll continue to keep my schedule updated and only accept bookings that I can fully commit to. I always make sure every pet gets the time, attention, exercise, and love they deserve while they’re in my care. When caring for pets in your home, I always make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and respected. I like to approach every dog with a calm, positive energy and take the time to let them get to know me before we head out for a walk. I pay close attention to their body language, personality, and energy level so I can adjust to what they need. Whether your dog loves a long walk, a slower pace, or just extra encouragement, I’ll make sure they have a safe, enjoyable experience. I’ll also follow your pet’s routine and care instructions so they feel as comfortable as possible while you’re away.

About: I have extensive dog sitting experience and a genuine love for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities. I’m comfortable caring for energetic puppies, laid-back seniors, anxious dogs who need extra patience, and everything in between. I understand how important it is for pets to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away, and I always strive to create a calm, caring environment for them. I’m experienced with walks, feeding routines, playtime, crate routines, administering basic medications if needed, and giving dogs the attention and affection they deserve. I’m attentive to each dog’s unique needs and personality, whether that means lots of exercise and play or quiet companionship and reassurance. My goal is always to make both pets and owners feel completely at ease. I work full-time, but I carefully plan pet care around my schedule to ensure every pet receives attentive, dependable care and plenty of love. I’m very organized with my routine and make time for walks, feeding schedules, playtime, check-ins, and quality attention before and after work, as well as throughout evenings and weekends. Because I genuinely enjoy caring for animals, pet sitting is something I intentionally make space for in my life — not something rushed or treated as an afterthought. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I do my best to maintain their normal routine and create a calm, comfortable environment while their owners are away. “SHavonna is one of a kind! Her demeanor and reaction to my Lulu's growling at her the first time she met her was perfect. She and her 7-year-old son were the perfect house guests. My home was clean and ordered and Lulu greeted me happily and in fact did not want to leave shavonna! That right there is the best recommendation anyone can give!”

“I had an amazing experience with Jerusha and her boyfriend Ethan as my pet sitters. They did a fantastic job caring for my two dogs, Henry and Georgie, as well as my cats. Henry, who is usually fearful and anxious around men, surprisingly warmed up to Ethan and loved spending time with him. Georgie, my social butterfly, had a blast playing at the park. Even my antisocial cat Logan, who typically avoids people, felt comfortable enough to sleep on Jerusha's lap. They walked my dogs regularly, provided plenty of playtime, and ensured all my pets were well-loved and cared for. They sent so many lovely pictures too!! I highly recommend Jerusha and Ethan to anyone looking for attentive and compassionate pet sitters!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hickory Grove
Morgan was an excellent sitter. She took great care of our cat Dexter and gave him his medicine daily and sent updates once a day. The house was spotless and we found it in the same condition we left it in. Will absolutely rebook Morgan anytime! Highly recommend

Morgan is amazing! We left our 13 yo Pom in her care for the first time, and he did great! Morgan communicates well, sends pix, responsive when I texted her to check in on him. I am so happy we found Morgan. She is a delight and has a sweet spirit about her. She stayed in our home, and I was never worried about Mikko’s care- my heart just miss being away from him. We love Morgan!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hickory Grove walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hickory Grove maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hickory Grove choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
