“Mara was wonderful with our Goldendoodle. She was very kind and energetic and matched our dogs enthusiasm for play. We could tell right away her love and care for our pet was just like her own.”

“I can’t say enough how amazing Paige was. I went out of town for 10 days which is the longest I’ve ever left my pets and she made me feel so much more comfortable with leaving them! She made sure to find time to do a meet and greet before hand so they knew her and my anxious pup warmed up to her right away! She also laid out her schedule for every day I would be gone with times she planned to come over. The whole time I was gone, she sent updates and pictures so I could see how happy they were! She went above and beyond, even brushing my cat and dog which they both love! She will definitely be my go- to for any future needs.”

“I had an amazing experience with Jerusha and her boyfriend Ethan as my pet sitters. They did a fantastic job caring for my two dogs, Henry and Georgie, as well as my cats. Henry, who is usually fearful and anxious around men, surprisingly warmed up to Ethan and loved spending time with him. Georgie, my social butterfly, had a blast playing at the park. Even my antisocial cat Logan, who typically avoids people, felt comfortable enough to sleep on Jerusha's lap. They walked my dogs regularly, provided plenty of playtime, and ensured all my pets were well-loved and cared for. They sent so many lovely pictures too!! I highly recommend Jerusha and Ethan to anyone looking for attentive and compassionate pet sitters!”

About: I’ve taken care of multiple dog breeds since I was a child. Dog breeds from English Mastiffs and Great Danes, to pit bulls and Shitzus. I am a HUGE dog lover and have picked up training tactics over the years as well. I have my own pups Callie (1.5 yo) and Kinsley (6 mo) who are both sweet and active Labrador retrievers. I am so excited to help you take care of your sweet pup :) I am currently job searching and eventually hope to find an opportunity that has a steady and reliable schedule. Right now I have completely open availability! I would love to come to your home for any pet services (walking/sitting/check-ins). I also have two pups that love other dogs and would be great play partners if needed!
“Ava was wonderful! She was available for sitting on very little notice for us to attend a funeral. She was very sweet and the house looked perfect when we got home. Our pups gave her 2 paws up!!!!!”

“Katie was absolutely amazing! She stayed at our house and watched our Golden Retriever for 5 nights while we were on vacation, and he absolutely loved her. It was such a relief knowing he was happy, comfortable in his own home, and being well taken care of while we were away. Katie was trustworthy, caring, and did a great job with him. We came home to a happy dog and everything just as we left it. We would absolutely book Katie again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can trust to stay overnight and take great care of their dog!”

“Julie was awesome to work with! Our 2 senior dogs were well cared for while we were on a long vacation. She communicated often to assure me everything was good! We couldn't have asked for better care! Thank you very very much!”

About: My love of animals goes back as far as I can remember. I have always had animals in my home and have taught my children to love them too! I currently have 5 cats and a chameleon. I have fostered through Austin Pets alive and Pflugerville Animal Shelter as well. I am extremely knowledgeable in caring for diabetic cats as I had one that was very dear to me and he just passed away this year. I am comfortable with giving insulin, checking blood sugar and administering medicine. If needed I can get you a referral from my vet, Forest Creek Animal Hospital as they know how dedicated I was to my diabetic baby. I have a spare bedroom where I can board cats away from my own cats. You can trust I will treat your babies as they were my own. I am a stay at home mom with one in college and one a senior in high school, my schedule is very open. I can be very flexible. I absolutely love animals and can confidently say your fur baby will get the best of care. I am extremely trustworthy and would treat your baby with lots of love.
About: Hi! I’m a huge animal lover and have been around dogs for as long as I can remember. I currently have three dogs and one cat, so caring for pets is part of my everyday life. I’ve learned a lot about dog body language and understanding each dog’s unique personality, and I’m always learning more about cats too. I treat every pet like they’re my own, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or just keeping them company, my goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your fur baby is in caring hands while you’re away. I’m currently a cosmetology student and work part-time. Since I haven’t started school yet, I have plenty of free time to dedicate to pet care. Even once classes begin, I’ll continue to keep my schedule updated and only accept bookings that I can fully commit to. I always make sure every pet gets the time, attention, exercise, and love they deserve while they’re in my care. When caring for pets in your home, I always make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and respected. I like to approach every dog with a calm, positive energy and take the time to let them get to know me before we head out for a walk. I pay close attention to their body language, personality, and energy level so I can adjust to what they need. Whether your dog loves a long walk, a slower pace, or just extra encouragement, I’ll make sure they have a safe, enjoyable experience. I’ll also follow your pet’s routine and care instructions so they feel as comfortable as possible while you’re away.
“Dai Yah, was prompt with her response when we urgently needed a last minute same-day booking request in order to go out to an activity and then dinner with family. Were extremely mindful and careful when looking over sitters profiles and this is the 4th time we have booked a house sitting request via Rover app and it was a pleasure to work with DaI Yah. If you’re interested in booking a sitter that has such a pleasant vibe like super chill and easy to follow care instructions for my little 5lb Shih-Poo then schedule with DaI Yah, we will be booking again many more times for DaI Yah, I already mentioned to her that were interested in a repeat sitter so Blaze has a pleasant experience each time we need house sitting care. Dai Yah, and I spoke with each other college and family and goals so it was a great having the brief conversation to try to build that sitter-pet parent connection.”

About: Hi, my name is Lauren!! I have about 15 years of pet care experience; mainly cats and dogs, but I have also had some gerbils, fish, crabs, and reptiles along the way. Pretty much whatever care you need, I can deliver (unless it’s a snake because I am terrified of snakes). I do this full time, so my availability is pretty open! I am very flexible based off of your needs, so whatever they may be, I hope to be able to work around you and your pets schedule! I can come to your home to take care of your pets! Since I have 3 dogs, 2 cats, and a bearded dragon of my own, I can’t house your fur babies due to potential stress on my babies and yours.
“We were so pleased with Evelyn! Will definitely have her back. She sent lots of updates, the dogs looked happy and well watched after, and made sure to ask lots of questions”

“Daniel was great with the fur babies. He was very responsive and sent lots of pictures. Both babies are long haired and he cleaned up all the leaves they brought in. He left the house cleaner then when he arrived.”

“SHavonna is one of a kind! Her demeanor and reaction to my Lulu's growling at her the first time she met her was perfect. She and her 7-year-old son were the perfect house guests. My home was clean and ordered and Lulu greeted me happily and in fact did not want to leave shavonna! That right there is the best recommendation anyone can give!”

“Abbey is fan-freaking-tastic! We came home to happy and well taken care of ladies. Abbey sent us such great pictures of our girls and took wonderful care of our home. She went above and beyond with help around the house and the handwritten note was just *chef’s kiss* Highly recommend and hope to book with her again!!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Filbert walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Filbert maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Filbert choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Filbert. On Rover:

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
