“Saved my butt when traveling through the region and needed a dog sitter for the day. My Jef was happy and comfortable, and I could tell he had affection for Heather when we left.”

“Holly was amazing! Very communicative. Asked all the questions someone who genuinely cares about your pets comfort and well being. Our little guy struggles with being left and she handled it like an absolute pro. 10/10!!!”

About: I'm excited to be back to doing what I love best after some time away raising a kiddo and creating a home dreamy for humans and furry friends alike. Treat your canine friend to a retreat in the country and feel comfortable leaving them in the hands of a professional and certified trainer. With over forty years of experience with animals and as a reputable Trainer for an Assistance Dog organization, i have a strong background with animals and can provide a safe and fun environment. My home is a canine paradise! It's quiet and serene with plenty of shade, a fully fenced yard, and a private dirt road that meanders through the countryside right out our back door, - perfect for walks for the dogs. There ia a resident Labrador retrievers named "Heart" and a Bernese Mountaing Dog named "Stormy" They are great ambassadors and love to host furry friends. I can also offer training, baths/grooming just ask if you think you would like this. We look forward to your dogs vacay with us. Why I love dog sitting I know when I leave for vacation, knowing my animals are in good hands allows for me to relax and enjoy my time away worry free. Animal owners are some of the best people I have known and I love meeting new friends, human and furry alike. I work part time from home, so it makes for the ideal environment to incorporate dog sitting into the day. I care for the dogs as if they were my own and I hope that you will allow us the honor to care for you animals(s). I am currently working from home. I leave the house on occasion but can either take your dog with me for a car ride if they like that, leave your dog home or if you would prefer, crate it for a short time. I am never gone long when dogs are n my care. I treat all dogs as if they are my own and follow the instructions of the owners on what to do to make them comfortable while in my home.
About: I've always had a dog. I had dogs growing up, I adopted a dog when I moved out on my own, and I adopted another dog when my children were old enough. Dogs are an important and special part of the family. I enjoy giving them attention, taking them for walks, brushing them, and of course, cuddling with them. I am observant of their communication styles, and use my observation skills to make sure I attend to their needs and keep them happy. I lost my special girl recently, and this is the first time in a while I am without my own dog. I would love to help you care for your dog while I decide whether to adopt again. I currently work from home and have a very flexible schedule. I am available to go for walks and give potty breaks almost anytime day and evening. I live in a townhouse that does not have a fenced yard. However, I used to take my dog for several walks per day for both exercise and potty breaks. Dogs are welcome in any part of the house, or can be restricted to downstairs, depending on their needs. I am happy to visit your pet in your home to offer a potty break, take for a walk, or just give some attention.
“Olive had an amazing day with Alexis. We got lots of pictures throughout the day which were very appreciated and it was obvious that our dog had a fun day because she was a very tired and happy dog when she got home.”

“Lemon had a great time during her stay! They were super communicative and easy to book with. Drop off & pick-up were also very smooth. We will definitely send Lemon here again if we’re in the area!”

“Ellen was such a great sitter! I needed a Rover sitter last minute and she was able to help. She is very kind and communicative and I immediately felt comfortable leaving Grayson with her. She provided photo updates and reassured me he was fitting in well with her pups! I’ll definitely be a repeat customer! (Oh and she sent Grayson home with a stash of really good treats which he promptly reminded me of when we got home - thanks, Ellen!)”
“We were very apprehensive leaving Andie with a new sitter. Chelsea did a fantastic job communicating and sending pix throughout the day. Our dog is easy, her owners aren't as much. She managed our anxiety with aplomb, and it was clear Andie had a great time. Looking forward to booking with her in the future.”

“Taylor did an amazing job watching my nervous dog for daycare. She did everything she could to make him comfortable and it was nice getting video updates where I could see my dog was starting to warm up. I can tell Taylor is very knowledgeable about dogs and dog training.”

About: 🐾 Your Fur Baby's Best Buddy! 🐾 Hey there! As a passionate dog owner myself for the past 3 years, I truly understand the love and care our furry family members deserve. Having experienced using Rover for my own pup, I know exactly what you, as a dog owner, are looking for in a reliable and trustworthy dog sitter. My top priority is to provide your furry friend with all the kindness, care, and attention they need, just like they were my very own! I work part time as a personal trainer in the day and dance teacher at night so I create my own schedule! I always keep my mornings free for walks, playtime, and any special needs for the dogs! Afternoon walks are also something I prioritize, it’s not only important for your pup to get that exercise but I like to decompress and enjoy nature as much as I can during the day. One of my favorite things to do is to go on refreshing walks and spend quality time at the park with my dog Jinx, and I'm sure your pup loves that too! If they are on the more relaxed side, I'm happy to spend indoors play time and/or simply cuddle. I have a 7 year old pup named Jinx who is friendly and loves a walk but if we go to the dog park he ideally loves just doing his own thing, he's more of an introvert 😂 Rest assured, your dog's safety is paramount to me. I have a spacious yard, which provides the perfect play area, it is not fenced so I use a secure 30ft leash when any dogs play outside, so your pup can enjoy freedom while being safely supervised. I also have a partner who lives with me and he has a heart that melts for dogs, so your fur baby is in safe hands. So, if you need a responsible and loving dog sitter, I'm here for you! Let's make sure your beloved companion has a fantastic time while you're away or at work, and they get the love and care they deserve with a sitter... plus I'll send lots of photos! 🐕 Looking forward to meeting you and your doggo soon! 🐶 Kindly, Katee 🐶
About: I have been taking care of cats and dogs on and off since I was a teenager. In the last 9 or so years my love for being the “dog aunty” of my social circle has grown into a career and I have professionally cared for pets of all shapes and sizes, and with a wide range of needs and personalities. This includes caring for pets at my home and at the fur babies’ homes, day visits, grooming visits, training visits, and even overnight 24 hour sitting for up to a month at a time, with specific pets. I have also worked with several puppies and senior dogs and have had success in both introducing and reinforcing obedience training. I also have experience working with a range of pack sizes, caring for groups of 1-8 pets at a time, both large and small. In addition, I have experience caring for senior pets with special medical needs, and the necessary attention and clean up required for those pets. I love animals and I am always looking forward to meeting new animal friends. I am currently also working as a pet portraiture artist, so my schedule is up to me and I am very flexible and open to working around your schedule and your pets needs. Safety and stress free environment is number 1. I like to get to know the pets I cared for and what their specific needs are. I have experience and am comfortable with all common leash and harness types, and confident and excited to take your pet on a walk. I have worked with and helped a handful of reactive dogs improve on their stranger danger responses when out on walks. I don’t shy away from a challenge and would love to help if I can while letting your baby get some fresh air. I am confident and comfortable using a crate, both indoors and if needed for transport in case of an emergency. In the case of an emergency medical issue, I am quick to respond and have a good relationship with several local vet hospitals. I will keep your baby safe and happy and I am always ready to accommodate their parents wishes.
About: My experience ranges from daily care routines to addressing specific health and behavioral issues. I've always had pets of my own, which has further enriched my knowledge and passion for animal care. I am currently working part-time from home. I am available weekdays weekends, and I have the availability for playtime and walks for your pet's , I wanted to share that I have a fenced yard on half an acre, providing plenty of space for pets to play. Additionally, my friendly dog will be there for your fur babies to enjoy some playtime
“Bernadette was wonderful with my rescue puppy Isabel!! It was her first time being left with someone, and I felt calm and confident knowing she was in Bernadette’s care. Bernadette clearly knows so much about animals and was very kind, understanding, and knowledgeable about Isabel’s communication and needs. I highly recommend Bernadette!!”

“Sheila accepted a last minute request for doggy day care and hosted my dog over. She is understanding of dogs behavior and needs. I knew my dog was in good hands and will return.”

About: I’m a responsible and caring pet lover with 9 years of experience caring for dogs. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, feeding, or just keeping them company, I make sure every pup feels safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I treat every dog like my own—because they deserve nothing less! 🐾 I have plenty of availability to walk, play, and feed your dog. I have a very friendly dog of my own who loves to make new friends. I take her on daily walks and to the park for some extra running sessions! There are plenty of cuddles and treats to go around! I love dogs and making sure that they are having the best time because they deserve it. When watching your pet you can be at ease as I take extreme pride in taking care of our fur babies. I have a fenced in back yard for security, with a good area for running and sniffing. Dogs are allowed on furniture for some rest and relaxation. I care for my own dog with lots of love, playtime, and treats!
About: Currently being a stay at home mother, my hours are very flexible! Growing up with cats and dogs, my kiddos and I are currently lacking the fun presence of furry friends! Although my apartment is not the biggest, allowing only one dog at a time allows all of my attention to be focused. If pets are to stay overnight you can expect daily walks, trips to dog parks and most likely a bath if we get too ambitious. I am an adventurous person that believes dogs have individual personalities and unique characteristics that should be embraced and loved. Allowing pets to cuddle up on the couch MAY be negotiated because I am a sucker for puppy eyes. I am currently a stay at home with my three kiddos. I home school, so including a dog in the mix is so much fun for us! We often go on walks and trips to the park. I have a fenced yard, doggie door for easy outside access and loving, gentle kids to keep your animals company with lots of love and play.
About: I have been Petsitting for over 5 years and I also worked at a few grooming salons so I have experience with all breeds of dogs as well as some cats birds and other animals I currently work from home so besides appointments every now and then my schedule is very open and flexible with helping out with your pets I am very responsible and follow any instructions given to me . I always keep your pet safe and treat them as if they were my own

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Hessel
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 451 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Hessel. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Hessel commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 451 sitters in Hessel, 89% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
