“My dog had a great first daycare experience with Mackenzie and Anthony. He’s had issues with anxiety with sitters in the past, and did very well with them and their 2 dogs. I highly recommend.”

“Her and her family are amazing! She has been super flexible and open to help out with my little guy. She is very respectful and incredibly nice. Was very good with my puppy. Sent pictures, played games, and even did some training with him. Super glad we found her and her family.”

“My first time using rover and Samantha was so great to work with. Easy to communicate with and my pup had the best day with her! He was well taken care of and enjoyed playing in her big back yard. Will absolutely use Samantha again!!”

“This was an amazing experience! I needed to make a trip to Ankeny and couldn’t leave my dog home for that long of a time so I hopped on this app and found her, so glad I did! He was a little scared at first but shortly made himself at home. Good communication and she sent photos! Made me feel good 💕I will be contacting Meagan again!”

“This was our first Rover booking for a day of daycare. Our sheepadoodle was pretty anxious when we arrived. Scott did a good job of putting her at ease. His dog Brinley is gentle and did her part in making our dog less nervous too. It wasn’t long after we left that we got a video of her playing with 3 other dogs. That was very reassuring. We chose Scott because we liked that he and Jess were full time dedicated to the care of dogs. We liked that there would be other dogs there because we felt being busy with playmates would be a positive. It’s clear that Scott is serious about providing great care to dogs and it appears he has earned many loyal customers. I don’t think anyone should have any qualms about giving them a try! I am glad we did!”

“Jen was an absolute delight and took great care of both of my dogs! She was extremely accommodating and friendly! I highly recommend and will definitely rebook with her in the future as the need arises!”

“Cynthia did a fantastic job of taking care of our dog. She sent updates and even video of our dog playing outside and looking very happy. We will definitely use her services again. Thank you for taking such good care of Golde!”

“Samantha was absolutely wonderful. It was easy to set up - our first time using rover. Communication was prompt - she was so pleasant and we felt very comfortable with our dog staying at her house. Can't say enough - she was great, and we would love to have more bookings with her.”

“Heather has been taking care of my pup, Junie for a few weeks. Between her and her two kids, they make sure my girl is well cared for. I never worry about Junie when she is with Heather. Heather even takes her for walks of an evening and drops her off. Heather truly goes above and beyond for my girl! Highly recommend her.”

“Penny has some new best friends! She always looked like she was having a blast! Jennifer even took her to her first water experience at the lake! Definitely will book with them again!”

About: I have lots of experience with dogs of all ages (my corgi, Vinnie had some back and hip issues at the end of his life) and all sizes. I grew up with labs and had my corgi for nearly 10 years. I have helped friends and family care for their dogs over the past 20 years. While I have not cared for strangers’ dogs, I love every pet I come into contact with like family and treat them as such. I have also recently volunteered with the ARL which gave me experience caring for many different breeds and varying needs. I work from home and would care for your pet throughout the day! I am willing to do long and short walks, or just play with your pet! Playing, cuddles, walks, potty breaks, whatever they need! I am very good at recognizing the tells for various dogs. I can usually tell when they need to go outside, need water or are anxious. I will adjust to what the dogs need and am a very open communicator. My house is clean, and safe for pets. I do have stairs in my home, but am willing to work with dogs who need additional support.

About: I’ve grown up with animals my entire life. I grew up on a farm, very experienced in pet sitting; my own dog had diabetes for 4 years so I’m experienced in administering medications. I love animals! I took some time off of college to focus on pet sitting. I have an unlimited amount of availability, I am hard-working, loving and reliable. I will care for your pets per your request, I will follow each clients requests while providing quality and loving pet care for your baby!! I take care of animals every day!! I have my own puppy who I care for, as well as cats that I help take care of I will do whatever you need me to do, and take care of your fur baby. Just let me know what you need and I will do that. I am not picky at all, and can work with you!

About: I have grown up with dogs and dog sit for many families. I have helped with different types of breeds, ages, and needs of many dogs over the years. I currently work in Des Moines during the week but have great availability on evenings and weekends. If your dog is fine staying home alone during the day if they stay with us, or when we stay at your home please consider us! We live on the third floor of an apartment complex here in Ankeny with elevator access! We have a patio that in warmer months we can always put per pads down if needed. Both me and my boyfriend are big dog lovers and will create a fun and safe environment for any and all pets. We do live in an apartment complex so if your pet needs lots of room to roam, our two bedroom apartment might not be a great fit.

About: Hey there! I’m Rachel and I’ve had a family dog for as long as I can remember. But now I have a family of my own- my partner and I have 4 kids and a mini zoo with 1 bunny, 2 ball pythons, 1 bearded dragon, 2 dogs, 4 cats, 6 mourning geckos and 6 aquariums with fish, snails, dwarf crayfish and shrimp. So, I have a lot of experience with a wide range of animals. Since I’ve started pet sitting on Rover I’ve also gained experience with raw feeding cats and dogs, chicken wrangling, mini home repairs, tree moving, raspberry picking and goose whispering. I used to volunteer every day at the local animal shelter while I was in highschool where I got tons of experience with all types of dogs and frequently helped out the neighbors with their escape artist husky! I previously worked as an assistant dog trainer. I’ve gotten tons of experience with how to better read animal’s body language, create and maintained presence control and facilitate healthy play. While most of my experience is with dogs, I am a true animal lover. One of the biggest perks of having me as your sitter is that our whole family helps take part. My 15 year old, Bella, is usually heavily involved in the care of the animals we sit. My other 3 younger kids also absolute love to take care of and play with all the animals. If your pets like to hang out and play with kids, get attention all day long… your pets are in for a treat with us! (For boarding) We truly strive to give dogs a home-away-from-home experience where they just jump right into our routine. Most of the time they end up sleeping in bed with one of our kids, playing with us outside, getting loves on the couch- all the stuff a family dog can expect. We stand proudly in our family beliefs of qualify pet care and don’t want to be a boarding spot where they put your animal in a kennel, let them out twice a day and charge you extra for playtime or potty breaks. (For pet sitting at home): We do come and go more often when we are sitting pets at their own home but we still make it a family affair. We make sure to drop-in frequently to check on them, feed them, let them out and play with them! Bella loves to hang out with our pet clients and play with them. Sometimes I bring a different kiddo to stay the night with me each night so that they all get a chance to give individual attention to the animals we are watching. We also watch over the house and property. At one pet sit, there was a storm that ran through and a massive branch broke into the pet parent’s driveway, front yard, sidewalk and street! After we notified the owners, Bella and I got it moved out of the way of the street and sidewalk so the pet parents didn’t have to worry about it until they got home. We understand that pet sitting is more than just watching the pets at home and we like to provide a holistic approach. My wife, Leigh also cleans and manages houses when she isn’t at home with our kids. She was the manager and trainer at a locally owned high-end home management company for many years. If you want your house cleaned or you have an organizational project you want completed while you’re gone, let me know! Leigh would be happy to chat with you, figure out what you’re wanting accomplished and get it done while you’re gone. She’s got a plethora of clients who continue to be impressed with her work and ask her to come back as proof of a job well done- so it’s not just my (possibly biased) opinion. 😉 I work as a school bus driver primarily so it leaves my summer & most major holidays pretty open! When I am at work my wife is usually home with some or all of the kids, so even when I’m busy- we have the ability to care for pets. I am pretty flexible but my main priority is making sure I am respectful of your space as much as I would want someone to be respectful of mine. Taking photos and communicating heavily with pet parents is top priority for me. If you wish to have less communication, just let me know so I don’t send too many cute pictures of your pets! I know what a big deal it is to leave my pets in the care of someone else and as a result, I take the responsibility very seriously myself.

“Sara did a great job with my dog Ocean. She took him in short notice and dealt with all that comes with a 4 month old puppy. I would recommend her highly.”

“Jhoceline was great with our puppy. We were nervous at first to do doggy day care because it would be his first time away from our home, but Jhoceline really put us at ease. She kept in contact with us by sending pictures and updates everyday he was with her. She took great care of our little boy! Would definitely recommend her to anyone!”

“Our pups Finn and Penny had a great time hanging out with Teija and her dog Skye! We are already looking forward to our next booking in a few weeks 🐶🩷”

About: After saying goodbye to our beloved Brady of 14 years, we are now empty nesters who have been dog parents for 36+ years. We currently have two "grandogs" who we continue to love like family. We know how hard it is to find others to love your dog like you do. We would love to provide that love and care during times you are needing to be away from them. We are retired, very active grandparents to 5 kiddos. We enjoy walks and playing outdoors, and would love to include a dog in both. Potty breaks have always been a routine thing for us, and something we are mindful of even on a lazy day inside. I'm a firm believer in a dog always having access to clean water, including those hot days when they are outdoors. Because we quite often have our grandkids around, we would want to ensure that your dog is comfortable around children as well as safe around children. We will honor requirements you may have for crating your dog, but we prefer to allow them to have free roam of the home. We do not have a fenced in back yard. However, neighbors on both sides of us our fenced in, and there is a 50+ foot patch of prairie grass behind our yard. Your dog will not be outside off a leash without us, if he/she is not well trained. We do have a large, covered deck with a gate to provide additional outdoor opportunities for your dog.

Kayla G.Star Sitter
“If animals could write reviews, they’d all give Kayla five paws! 🐾 She’s one of those rare people who animals instantly trust—like she speaks their language or has a built-in treat dispenser (she doesn’t, I checked). She’s incredibly attentive, always tuned into their needs, and is happy to keep them active in the yard or give them a lil' cuddle on the couch. Kayla is also one of the most reliable, kind, and punctual people I know. I’d trust her with any pet—mine included—in a heartbeat!”

Lexi B.
“Lexi is the most kind and compassionate animal lover I have ever met. Not only has she cared for her own dog that struggled with diabetes for four years, (insulin shots twice a day etc.) but she has helped many families dog and cat sit, walk dogs as needed, and give fur babies all the love and attention they deserve. I would trust her with any animal, she is amazing! She is the one I request whenever I need to go out of town. A+!!!”

Elena H.
“Elena is the best dog sitter around! She lovingly watched our pups and they were the happiest lil nuggets! She is kind and has a keen sense of detail, so if your pups need special attention, this is the gal to watch them. Her communication is incredible, and she would send photos to keep us updated. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!! Our dogs love her as much as we do!!”

Rachel S.

“Rachel is very passionate about dogs and it is clear when you see her work with them. She has taken great care of my animals in the past and I would recommend her to any of my friends in the future. Rachel goes above and beyond to meet the dog’s needs and communicate with me as the owner.”
