“Colonel had another stay with Kimberlee and Mitchell. As soon as we arrived, Colonel could not wait to start playing with their dog. Kimberly sent me updates each day which gave me peace of mind that everything was going well. We will be using them again and we highly recommend!”

“I think my Sam had a great time with Cynthia and family…and he was so lucky that Cynthia’s daughter was there with her little dog Reggie, so he had a playmate the whole time he was there (9days). Cynthia watered her plants outside and my Sam loves to be watered also. And with the very hot weather, he enjoyed it. Will be returning!”

“We recently boarded our dog with Melanie and it was a great experience. Melanie and her family were so nice to work with and did a great with Maya. We liked getting updates and pictures while she stayed there. Highly recommended.”

“Erin and Chris are amazing!! They were super responsive. Genuinely listened to all of my dog mom concerns and were gracious and accommodating!! I got lots of pictures with updates and reassurance that everything was going well!! I will absolutely rebook with them when I have future needs!!”

“Jessica will be our first call the next time we need to board our dogs. She took care of them like they were her own, was very organized and responsive with communication. This was our first time using Rover, but now I can’t imagine sending our dogs back to the kennel.”

“This was my first time using Rover and I was pleased with Jessica’s quick response time and enthusiasm to meet and care for Blanca. The process was easy and drop off went smoothly. Jessica’s dog was in a kennel when we arrived to make drop off less stressful for both dogs. The pups were introduced after we left to get their sniffing done on neutral territory (on a walk out front). We received photos and updates during our whole time away and knew Blanca was happy and safe. We would be happy to use Jessica again in the future!”

“Samantha does a wonderful job and my Golden Toby had a great nearly week long stay. She provides daily updates and sincerely cares about the well being of my dog.”

“This was our first time using Rover and Ivana did a fabulous job, truly going above and beyond our expectations! We felt that she treated our dog like family, exactly as we would treat her. We got daily updates/videos and in every one, our dog looked like she was having the most amazing time! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!”

“Holly and her family are awesome. Sally and Sam really didn’t want to leave to come home. Holly kept me very up to date on what was going on with them. She sent photos also. I believe they had a great time and I will use Holly anytime we go on vacations.”

“I think my dog (female) likes Osvaldo more than me know! He took good care of her for 2 1/2 days while I had to be out-of-state. My Tequila behaved herself even around his family.”

“Kayla is wonderful! Very patient with our girls. While watching them over the weekend, she took them for walks and gave them love and attention. I can tell she did well with the girls, as they were relaxed and not nerved up from Kayla being at our home for the weekend. Thank you Kayla for taking GREAT care of our girls!”

“Lara and Cary were so great with our dog, Nola! It was our first time leaving her after an incident at a local kennel this summer so we were worried and anxious. They sent several photos and updates and put our minds at ease. She had a nice, relaxing stay and we will definitely use them again and again!!”

“Gizmo had a great stay with Brooke and her family. He and one of their cats, Chester, became very good friends, which is wonderful. We know that Gizmo is not aggressive with cats, but he hasn't had much 1:1 time with cats, so we were very pleased that the two enjoyed playing! Brooke made a concerted effort to walk Gizmo on his home schedule to avoid accidents, which I greatly appreciate.”

“Emmy took wonderful care of our dog! She was attentive and made sure our energetic girl got plenty of exercise and stimulation. We received regular updates and photos, and it was apparent in the pictures that our dog felt right at home. We definitely recommend Emmy!”

“Absolutely amazing care given to our girl. Jenevieve was excellent at communicating and sending pictures. I felt at ease that she was getting a lot of love when I couldn't give it to her.”

“Candace and her family are amazing! Abby was so well cared for while I was away and she was loved by the entire family, and, she had wonderful playtime with their own sweet dog! Candace sent pictures and updates so I rest assured Abby was doing great! Will definitely use them again!”

“I think Missy has got to be the best sitter my dog Bella has ever had. Not only did Missy welcome the challenge of a spicy chihuahua but she mastered it. By the end she let her hold her! And if any of you are owners of little anxious dogs you know this is a big deal!! Missy also did a great job communicating with us and sending tons of photos which we appreciated. Having Bella stay with Missy made us feel at ease, allowing us to enjoy our trip to the fullest knowing Bella was in good hands. Would highly recommend booking with Missy and I’m sure Bella looks forward to her next visit!”

“This is Coco’s 3rd stay with Amy & Casey. She loves going there and comes home exhausted from a full stay of play, walks, and even a pool party once 😁. She loves their dog Duke! We highly recommend Amy & Casey and look forward to Cocoa next stay!”

“Ashley is great with our boys! They immediately warmed up to her at the initial visit. Ashley is a great communicator which really set us at ease while bringing away.”

“Morgan was absolutely phenomenal! We have some older cats who require medication and she was a pro! Will definitely be reaching out again the next time we leave town.”

“Thank you for watching my princess while I was on my vacation. Because she is shy around strangers, it was such a relief to see her trust you and become more comfortable with you each day”

“This was our first time using Rover, and we are so happy we did. Jaron did a great job- was reliable, and gave our older cat a lot of attention. We will not hesitate to use him again!”

“Lisa always left informative and funny blips about the pet visit along with incredible photos that reassured me my pet was being well taken care of while I was on vacation. Highly recommend!”

“Jessica was great with our two kitties. She dropped in every day last week to administer medication and playtime. She went above and beyond cleaning up some hairball accidents and scooping the litter as well. We’ll be calling her again - highly recommended!”
“Emily was awesome! She sent cute pictures and was very communicative. If there was anything she was unsure of she was not afraid to ask. I’m very pleased with my experience using Rover and I’m so glad I found Emily!”

“Nejra did an excellent job taking care of our cats. She was willing to come to our home to meet our cats so we could show her how we feed our diabetic one. Her drop in visits were 12 hours apart as we requested, including administering insulin each visit. She provided detail and photos twice a day and even a video of her petting. I highly recommend Nejra and we will be hiring her again!”
“Geni did a fantastic job watching our cats! She was dependable, took great care of them, and kept us updated with pictures while we were away. One of my biggest concerns was that our cats would be stressed, but it was so obvious from the pictures that they were comfortable, happy, and really liked Geni. That gave us such peace of mind! We couldn’t have asked for someone better and would 100% recommend Geni. We’ll definitely be asking her to watch our cats again! 🐾❤️”

“Alishea is so good with my pup! He is young and still a bit skiddish with new people. She is kind and patient with him and is so consistent - which he needs. Thank you for everything, Alishea!”

“This was an amazing experience! I needed to make a trip to Ankeny and couldn’t leave my dog home for that long of a time so I hopped on this app and found her, so glad I did! He was a little scared at first but shortly made himself at home. Good communication and she sent photos! Made me feel good 💕I will be contacting Meagan again!”

About: I have been a pet parent for over 15 years. I currently have a 4 year old German shorthair pointer named Draco and a 11 year old cat named Rubeus. Draco is a big goofy lover. Very good with other dogs. We recently lost our older dog and Draco is missing having a buddy to run around with. I am a stay at home mom so I am home most of the day. We are very active with playing in the yard and going for walks. I have a huge fenced in yard and live walking distance to a couple parks. Dogs are free to roam my home and be on furniture. Can kennel overnight if preferred.
“It has been a privilege to have met Ali. Her joy over these silly, unique, fun, and personable dogs is infectious. Ali helped to train my dog! Ali helped me to better train my dog! Ali excellent communication skills, easy laughter and a person I could count on. Both Gracie and I will miss her greatly as we have to move out of town. But between Gracie's nose and my memory, we will hope to get near her again.”

“Jen and her family are amazing and I think our pup Nila would go to their house to visit every day if she could. Nila initially had some anxiety from some bad past experiences when Jen first started watching her, and Jen was incredible at helping her feel safe and gain confidence back. And her own dog Mia does such a good job of respecting Nila’s boundaries but also encouraging her to play and get out of her comfort zone. Jen treats every dog with so much love and care as if it was her own, and goes above and beyond any expectations we had.”

About: My experience in the dog industry goes beyond just boarding or sitting. I have the knowledge, skills, and experience training dogs of all ages and breeds, including service dogs. I currently work part time teaching group classes, leaving quite a bit of my time available to do other things involving dogs. In addition to a safe and friendly place to stay, your dog will get daily enrichment activities and, if needed, house manners training (go to place, leave it, keeping all 4 paws on the floor, going in/out of doorways). I work part-time training group classes, which allows me to have the time needed to care for the dogs staying with me. I'm available for boarding during the week, weekends, most holidays, single overnights and extended stays. My availability for day time sitting can vary but my calendar will always be updated with those times. All interactions between dogs are supervised to ensure those interactions are a positive experience and a safe experience. I don't have a fenced in yard so each time going outside is on leash, so leash manners will be worked on. I have crates and exercise pens for dogs who get crated at night. During meal times dogs are separated from each other as a precaution to prevent resource guarding. I do have a "gated community" inside my house to prevent mischief in the kitchen or going upstairs to bedrooms.
“Osvaldo, his wife and daughter are an amazing dog family! It was seriously like going to an amusement park for our dog. They did lots of walks/runs, playing, training and sent lots of pictures. We will be going back!! I'm am so thankful to have found them for our pup. They even took the time to work with my special needs son on training our pup. They deserve 10 stars! ?”

About: I have personally had a pet or 3 since I was 13 years old. I begged for a cat for years and once I got one, I never have been without at least one pet. I have been volunteering with the ARL since 2005. I have had 30+ foster dogs through them as well. I just love animals. I do have weekends blocked but just ask about availability! I am retired. I enjoy going for walks with dogs and depending on the dog spending time outside in my fenced in backyard. I have a 6 foot fence. Your dog will have the ability to be part of our family and our family pets are on our furniture. We do separate our home animals, fosters and house guests at night. The "regulars" get to sleep in our beds while our guests get other accommodations. It makes for better harmony for us. Because we foster on a regular basis our animals are very used to different dogs coming into our home. Our home is pretty quiet and relaxing.
“She took such good care of our baby, he made new friends and felt safe the whole day. She sent me updates to make sure we felt comfortable. I am so grateful to have someone like her take care of someone so special to us. Thank you so much!!”

“Ivana did an amazing job! She treated our puppies like they were family, and they looked forward to going to her place every day. We will definitely have our pups stay with Ivana again.”

“Corkie loved her doggy day care time playing with Bailey and Iggy in their big backyard! This was her first time away from home and it went so well! Will definitely have Sherilynn watch her again!”

“Tamara is just fantastic. She was great and attentive to my dog and her dogs are so sweet and got along perfectly with him! She has a giant yard for them to play and he came home every time just so happy and relaxed! He slept like a baby both times! He clearly loved her, her kids, and her dogs! Such a wonderful family and home! She did such a great job at such a great price! I can’t recommend her enough! I will try and book her first when looking for anything regarding care for my dog! Thanks Tamara!”

“Samantha was absolutely wonderful. It was easy to set up - our first time using rover. Communication was prompt - she was so pleasant and we felt very comfortable with our dog staying at her house. Can't say enough - she was great, and we would love to have more bookings with her.”

“Melanie and family were so friendly that my dogs—a 4- and a 12- year-old Havanese—relaxed immediately. Melanie met us in the yard and the dogs trotted away with her without looking back. The dogs were with her for 6 hours and she sent multiple photos and status updates. We would definitely ask Melanie to watch our dogs again!”

“Cynthia took great care of our dog, Maizy! She went above and beyond to make sure was Maizy was comfortable and engaged. Maizy can be a picky eater and Cynthia even got her to eat a full meal. She was lovey to communicate with, was very responsive, and sent lots of pictures. We will definitely be dropping our pup off with her again!”

“Taitum was so accommodating to my schedules and my pup seemed to have so much fun. Even though his stay was for just a few hours, she was so communicative and sent pictures!!”

I love being able to use that flexibility to help care for other families’ pets whenever they need it. About: Throughout high school and my first two years at college, I've consistently had the opportunity to dog sit for coworkers, friends, family, or people who knew me from a friend! I'm used to taking dogs on walks and caring for them in their homes. I currently don't have a pet of my own so it's always nice to hang out with other people's pets! I will be a student at Iowa State University this fall. I want to be able to get out and hang with your pet or take them for a walk! It'll be the perfect break from studying and any stress. My schedule at ISU is pretty flexible for anyone's pet needing care in the early morning, evening, or nighttime! I take extra precaution when I meet new pets to try and figure out and understand their nature and what's normal for them. I always ensure that every instruction from the owner is noted and followed. I love to form connections to new pets and watch them get comfortable around me or even become more and more excited to see me! I will only be able to visit the client's home as my apartment does not allow pets.
About: I am an animal lover. I have a labradoodle. I am patient and very good with pets. I would love to meet and interact with your pet! I am available weekends. I work monday through friday, although sometimes i may be available. I am pretty flexible just let me know what you need. I have a fenced in yard with a beautiful prairie behind it as well as a path that my dog loves. We keep doors shut to keep dogs out of areas they don’t need to be in.
About: I currently don't have any pets of my own. In February 2025, my family and I sadly said goodbye to our beloved dog, Buddy, after 17 wonderful years together. I miss him deeply-our walks, cuddles, and the unconditional companionship he brought to my life every day. While Buddy will always hold a special place in my heart, Rover provides a meaningful opportunity for both pet owners and me. I can help families by providing dependable, loving care for their dogs, while also continuing to spend time with the animals I've loved my entire life. Caring for dogs fills a void left by losing Buddy and allows me to do something that brings me genuine joy. I've been caring for dogs since I was six years old. Having had dogs throughout my life and now into my mid-fifties, I understand how important it is to find someone who provides compassionate, loving, and trustworthy care. I know the peace of mind that comes from knowing your dog is safe, happy, and well cared for when you're away. I've been surrounded by dogs my entire life, including dachshunds, beagles, german shepards and mixed breeds like Buddy - who was a basset / black lab. Every dog I've had has been treated as a cherished member of the family, receiving endless love, patience, and care - and I would treat your dog the very same way. You'll notice there aren't many photos of me with Buddy - I was usually the one behind the camera capturing all of his adventures and favorite moments. My goal is to make sure your dog feels safe, loved, comfortable, and happy while in my care, giving you complete peace of mind while you're away. I look forward to meeting you and taking care of your fur baby. Thanks for your consideration and the opportunity. Have a wonderful day. Because I work from home full-time, I can fit pet care into my daily schedule. I enjoy taking breaks for walks, outdoor time, playtime, and cuddles, which allows me to give dogs attention throughout the day. My flexible weekday and weekend availability means your dog won't be left alone for long periods and will receive compassionate, attentive care. I live in a pet-friendly apartment community with easy access to sidewalks in quiet neighborhoods and nearby trails, providing plenty of opportunities for dogs to get exercise, explore, and enjoy time outdoors. Because I work from home full-time, I can provide regular potty breaks, walks, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. Your dog's safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. Dogs in my care will always be supervised, walked on a leash, and given a calm, loving environment where they can feel secure and at home. Having cared for dogs my entire life, I understand the trust involved in leaving your pet with someone else, and I am committed to treating every dog as if they were my own—with patience, compassion, and attentive care.

“Cory is matter-of-fact, flexible, and a good energy for our hyper lab mix. We were able to schedule an additional walk during our vacation which we really appreciated. We received updates each time he stopped by. Big fan!”

“This is the second time Karly has been our walker for Bella. The first time was a 5 week hire while we were out of town. The second time was a short notice two day walker stint. Always punctual through both terms, and always caring. We felt very comfortable knowing Karly was watching our Senior Labrador Bella. Bella loved it too!”

“Jessica was great! She took time out of her night to come visit Koda the night before she walked him and see how they did with each other! She was also a great walker and was willing to just hang out with him outside of his kennel and play with his toys! We will definitely be going back to Jessica again!”

About: Growing up as the son of a veterinarian, I’ve had the privilege of firsthand experience in treating and handling a wide variety of animals. This passion has been with me since childhood. Currently, I’m pursuing a Pre-vet degree at Iowa State University while simultaneously gaining valuable hands-on experience through extensive shadowing at clinics in Des Moines. I’m eager to take on the responsibility of caring for your beloved pet, treating them with the utmost care and attention, as if they were my own. If you’re seeking a highly experienced and passionate pet sitter, dedicated to providing the best care for your best friend, I’m the guy you’re looking for! I am very open as far as me week to week schedule, I am busy in the morning until 11 o’clock. But any time after that I am available! I handle pets not only in my home, but have many hours of experience in a clinic. Handling animals, Large and Small. So there is no worry about any issues as far as handling.
“Kent is amazing! He goes above and beyond for my dog. He is an excellent communicator and keeps me informed with anything I may need to know about my dog. He cares deeply for animals and is so trustworthy and genuine. I highly recommend Kent and we are so lucky we found him!”

About: I have lived with dogs my entire life. I began playing a role in walking, and feeding/filling water for my dogs since I was 12. I have also watched my friend’s dogs before by stopping in a few times a day to feed them and give them love! I’m currently working a part-time job, most of the time I work day or night shifts so I do a lot of pet care in between my shifts or on the weekends. At home we use an electric fence for our animals but for others I accompany them outside on a leash. My two puppies who are 1 years old enjoy company but are very energetic and can be kenneled if needed. My cat does not do well with other cats without meeting/getting used to them over a period of time.
About: I have been the main caretaker of any animal I’ve ever had, some because I was the one who begged for it. And others because I just love animals so much that their care is only half the fun. I have experience with animals in all stages of life, from puppies to seniors. My puppy experience ranges from being the one who nursing a parvo puppy back to excellent health, she is now 3 years old and thriving. I also have a senior dog, who is such a joy but I think he forgets he has arthritis with all of his puppy antics. I also have a lot experience with teaching many tricks so don’t be surprised if your animal learns something new every time they see me! I work from home and have only two courses a day, so I have a lot of time on my hands to do a good pet care routine. My babies (my cats and hermit crabs) are on a routine or rather I am. We do feedings in the morning and have an hour of down time for everyone to “stretch” their legs before I go to class. I’m away for 3 hours before I’m back and during that time I can walk a dog if one is staying. And then I work from home so pretty much I’m at the animals beck and call whenever they need anything. I am in an apartment which lessens the risk of anything happening to your pet on my watch! Also with living in an apartment by campus we can always go for walks and meet some college students wanting some animal love!
About: I have worked as a Supervisor at Wags Pet Resort and Hotel in Ankeny, IA for 5 years in October! I have worked with all different personalities, types, ages, sizes, and behavior of dogs. I have gained a lot of knowledge about dogs and the best ways to work with them based on their personalities and behaviors! I have experience with administering medication, baths, and caring for injuries. I would love to set up a meet and greet and understand your dog and your expectations of my visits! I am currently a Direct Support Professional and Personal Care Assistant in Iowa city! I also volunteer at the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital! I have pretty open availability on the weekends and randomly throughout the weekdays! I will be as flexible as possible and willing to work with your schedule! I have a dog of my own so I understand what it takes to care for an animal inside a home. I would let your pet out multiple times during the day and stay outside and play with them to help wear their energy out. I think it is important for your pet to be outside and running around or just getting attention depending on their behavior and moods! Due to my experience I am able to see what a dog needs and wants based on their actions and I am willing to spend time with them multiple times throughout the day!
About: Interacting with animals has always been the highlight of my day. I have a decade of professional experience with pet care, primarily dogs and cats, but small animals and exotics as well. I have a beloved senior dog and a giant day gecko at home, but I grew up around a large range of animals, including dogs, birds, lizards, frogs, rodents and sugar gliders. I also have a bachelor's degree in biology with a particular interest in animals and plants. As a result, I have the experience, knowledge and passion to provide the high-quality care you're looking for. I currently have a very flexible schedule, which means that I am able to devote plenty of time and attention to your animals. I will keep in touch with you while your precious pets are under my care, so you won't have to worry about their safety and comfort. I am happy to provide detailed updates and photos of the time they spend with me. I would love an opportunity to work with your family! I'm between jobs right now, so I'm able to provide even more time for your pets. When I do find my next job, I will be sure to give advance notice to any clients potentially affected by the change in addition to updating my profile. I will respect any rules and routines of your household so that you and your pets will be as comfortable as possible. I am always careful when opening doors to prevent escapes and take any specific safety concerns for your individual pets into account.
About: As a dog mama myself, I understand that our dogs are more than just our pets. They’re an integral part of our family! I strive to provide them with the necessary care they need, but also the enrichment they need to thrive and live a happy life. I love to play with them, take them out for walks, and provide them with love and pets. It’s important to me that they are not just physically cared for, but they are mentally stimulated through play and emotionally cared for at every visit. I'm always mindful that all pets should be greeted with a slow introduction, that does not come off as intrusive, or threatening. Even the most social pets, can behave differently when an unfamiliar person enters their home while family is not present. I always take that into consideration upon each visit, as I get to know your dog/cat, and build a trusting relationship. Whether your pet goes out on a leash, uses a fenced in yard, or requires potty pads to go to the bathroom, I'll follow your instructions as discussed through the Rover app, or during our initial "meet and greet". Requested information about your pet -Medication schedule -Behavioral issues that may affect walking your pet on public sidewalks, history of biting or aggression while being fed. -Ongoing medical conditions -Vet number and/or emergency contact I currently work on a hybrid schedule - 3 days in West Des Moines and 2 days at home in Ankeny. I have a flexible schedule where I can pop around to your pet when needed. I have a heart for animals along with the patience needed to give quality pet care. Your pet will always come first and I would treat them as if they are my own.

“Kelly took great care of Cooper while we were out of town for a week! I loved knowing that she’s a dog trainer. He got along great with her dogs and had a place nearby to run. She was also super responsive. Will definitely use her again.”
“Elizabeth is awesome! She provides regular updates, and photos and videos of how much fun our pup was having. We have never seen her so tired after other play dates. Thank you so much for taking care of our pup!”

“Cory took such great care of Bruce! He sent pictures and responded to messages quickly, and Bruce came home happy and exhausted. We are so appreciative of the great care Bruce received with Cory and will definitely come back!!”

“If I could give Jessica 10 stars, I absolutely would! She was incredibly accommodating and easy to work with. Jessica made both Cleo and our entire family feel at ease. We had never left Cleo with anyone before, but from the photos, it was clear she felt right at home. We received daily updates, pictures, and walks, which reassured us that Cleo was in great hands. So grateful for Jessica and her husband!”

“We continue to ask Alexandra to care for our pup every time we go out of town. This time, our dog hurt his leg just before we left and she right away reassured us she could manage whatever he needed. She is always responsive and takes great care of Auggie. We are grateful for the peace of mind!”
