About: Hi! I am a big dog lover and love caring for pets of all shapes and sizes! I know that every furry friend is unique. I have extensive experience with dog care as I grew up with them and began caring for them at a young age. I work a part time job that does take me away from care for several hours during the day. If your pet requires lots of attention/visits throughout the day I might not be the best person for the job :) I am a full time graduate student. I am available mornings, afternoons and nights as well as full time on the weekends. Each semester gives me a different schedule but I generally have time for a lunch break to swing by and give some pets and a quick walk. Let me know what your pet needs and I will put in my best efforts to make it work! I do not have my own home available for sitting however I am comfortable staying overnight with your pet. I am flexible for you and your pets needs. Let me know your preferences and I will accompany them!
“She was always on time and took the cutest pictures of Leo. The house was neat and clean and she even cleaned up my plant that Leo knocked over. Leo looks well fed and she played with him every time.”

“Danielle always takes such great care of our cats, and goes above and beyond to make sure they get attention and playtime. She also sends the best pictures to keep us updated while we're away!”

“Shelbie was great with my dogs, very communicative and respectful of my home! I could tell my dogs felt comfortable around her and that she truly loves animals from the pictures she sent.”

“Fable is great, and we would have them watch our cat again. They showed up ready to take notes about parsnips care, and was super communicative. Fable did a great job watching her and we have no complaints.”

“Jessica was great! I informed her my dog wasn’t the friendliest with new people or dogs and she didn’t waver- instead she had a great vibe when working with my dog and made my dog the calmest I’ve experienced with rover sitters. Would 100% use her again!”

About: I have over 10 years of experience caring for animals. My first job was at a dog boarding facility where I prepared food and medications, cleaned kennels, bathed and groomed dogs, and took them on walks. I’ve also pet-sat for family friends for weeks at a time, caring for a variety of animals—including a pig once! In addition to my professional experience, I have two small Chihuahuas of my own, so I understand how important individualized care, patience, and attention to detail can be. Above all, I genuinely love spending time with dogs and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy while their owners are away. As a resident manager, I have the flexibility to bring my own dogs with me throughout the day. I split my time between my apartment and my office, which has a private living space attached, allowing me to provide frequent supervision and attention. There is also a large park directly behind my workplace, giving dogs plenty of opportunities for walks, exercise, and outdoor time. Your pup will receive lots of attention, care, and companionship throughout the day, whether I’m working or at home. At home, I make sure pets receive plenty of attention, exercise, and affection throughout the day. I live in the downtown area, which gives us lots of opportunities for walks, fresh air, and mental stimulation. I provide a safe, comfortable environment with plenty of toys, treats, and personalized care based on each pet’s needs and routine. Whether your dog loves playtime, cuddles, or simply having someone nearby, I strive to make them feel happy, secure, and right at home while you’re away.
“We are so grateful for the care Oliana provided for our sweet kitty, Sybil. Oliana sent pictures every day which helped ease our minds while we were away. She was also very easy to communicate with. We will definitely book with Oliana again!”

“Dee took such amazing care of my dogs. For my first time using Rover, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. She went above and beyond my expectations and was so pleasant!”

About: I have had animals in my life ever since I was 4 years old. I'm pretty new to Rover, but have been petsitting by word of mouth since 2020! I've done extensive research on pets and what kind of care they prefer, what kind of diets are healthiest for them, and all the details that bridge the gap between their domestication and their primal instincts. I will provide loving care to dogs, cats, and other small animals like birds, hamsters, rabbits etc, and I will leave your house in just as good, if not better, condition than I found it! I work full time, but my schedule at work is incredibly flexible, so I am available on weekdays and weekends. I can take animals on walks if needed, or just be there to feed them and let them out daily. I am very flexible in terms of what services I offer, as it depends on what services you need! I can come and petsit at your house, and I can spend the night if you don't want your fluffy friends to get lonely. I can board for certain pets but not all, as I have a very picky cat of my own, so it is best to message me directly about what you are looking for!

I offer a huge (free roam) fenced yard. I also have a kennel in the back yard with heated dog houses if needed. A doggie shower and a large kennel are available inside a heated garage. My experience includes feeding, walking, exercising, administering basic care, cleaning, overnight stays, and making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I understand how important trust and communication are when caring for someone’s animals, and I always treat every pet like they are my own. I am currently working patr-time on Mondays, so I have plenty of time the rest of the week to spend taking care of loved animals. I provide a safe, calm, and loving environment where pets can feel comfortable and cared for while their owners are away. I always take time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, energy level, and any special instructions to help keep their schedule consistent and stress-free. In a client’s home, I respect the space, keep things clean and secure, and make sure pets receive plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, potty breaks, and affection. I carefully monitor pets during walks and outdoor time to ensure their safety at all times. I also have experience caring for multiple types of animals, including dogs, cats, and horses, and I am comfortable with pets of different ages, temperaments, and activity levels. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable while giving owners peace of mind through dependable care and communication.

About: I have paid pet- and house-sitting experience, including a 10-day overnight dog-sitting stay in summer 2023 for a former supervisor. I cared for her poodle, golden doodle, and senior pug, and I returned for several shorter stays during the school year. During those stays, I cared for the senior pug while he was declining in health. I followed the owners’ instructions carefully, asked questions when I was unsure, and communicated any concerns in a calm, factual way. I also sent occasional photo updates to reassure them that their dogs were safe and well cared for. I’m comfortable with feeding routines, potty breaks, walks, playtime, cleaning up accidents thoroughly, and keeping pets on their normal schedule. I also cared for my own cat, Babu, for many years, including during the last five months of her life when she needed regular medication in both liquid and pill form. That experience taught me a lot about patience, gentle handling, and caring for pets who may be sweet, scared, stubborn, or medically fragile. I’m comfortable with cats, dogs, senior pets, multi-pet homes, basic medication routines, litter boxes, and detailed care instructions. I also grew up caring for small and exotic pets, including lizards, hamsters, rats, and helping care for my grandmother’s iguana. I’m happy to care for many small animals or reptiles with clear instructions, though spiders are my one hard boundary. I currently have flexible availability for house sitting, drop-ins, and pet care. For overnight house-sitting stays, I do my best to keep pets on their normal routine, including feeding times, potty breaks, walks, playtime, medication if needed, and quiet companionship. Before each booking, I like to confirm the pet’s schedule, how long they can comfortably be left alone, and any special instructions so I can make sure the care plan is a good fit. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow instructions carefully and treat both the pets and the home with respect. I pay close attention to doors, gates, leashes, harnesses, feeding instructions, medications, litter boxes, potty breaks, and any household routines. I’m comfortable asking questions if anything is unclear and communicating calmly if I notice a concern. I also provide updates and photos so owners can feel reassured while they’re away. I clean up accidents thoroughly, keep pet areas tidy, and do my best to make sure each pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Helena
Haydee took care of my 2 dogs and cat for a drop in visit. She paid attention to instructions making sure everyone got the right amount and kind of food. She communicated well and everything was in order when I got home. I would certainly have Haydee back to care for my pets again.

Danielle was wonderful! She took excellent care of our two cats. We were initially hesitant to hire someone we didn’t know, but she immediately put us at ease with her friendly demeanor and professionalism. Her communication was excellent, and we loved receiving photos while we were away!

This was our first time using Katherine and we will definitely use her again. She was prompt for her visits to feed and play with our dogs twice a day and I felt confident that if anything came up she would let us know. We were able to be out of town without any worries.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
