“Lana was so great! She even came over the night before to meet our dog and get all of the instructions from my husband as I had already left town and wanted peace of mind! When she dropped in both days, she didn’t just let Maverick out, she played with him, sat down on the ground and let him cuddle/kiss all over her! And she even gave our cat Milton love and attention. She gave them some food and topped off their water when she didn’t have to! I trusted her in my home and she went the extra miles (literally). We will for sure be rebooking with Lana! ❤️”

“Michael is wonderful to work with. He came over for an initial meet-and-greet with our two dogs, including our German Shepherd who can be a bit territorial, and the visit went very well. Michael was patient, calm, and confident, which immediately put us at ease and helped our dogs feel comfortable with him. We really appreciate his willingness to do multiple visits to build trust and ensure a good fit. We’re looking forward to continuing to work with him and feel confident our dogs are in great hands.”

“This is my second time booking Xandra and I couldn’t be happier. She is extremely attentive and communicates well. I really appreciate how quickly she responded and kept me updated throughout the trip. I def recommend her ! Book with her if you don’t want to worry about your fur babies while you’re away.”

“Carla has been amazing! She has gone above and beyond for us working with our crazy schedules and the occasional clean ups! Not to mention our pup loves his time with her!”

“Heather was a lifesaver on really short notice when our usual dog sitter cancelled a few hours before I left on a trip. She responded immediately and even without meeting them in advance, she was amazing with my 2 French bulldogs. She sent lots of photos and updates and I didn’t have to worry about them at all! When my flight home got delayed, she was able to add another visit on moment’s notice as well. I’m so grateful for Heather’s help and care!!”
“Stephen did an awesome job sitting for us! Our dogs managed to get out of their run, but he saved the day by fixing the broken boards. He went above and beyond to help us. Our dogs were so happy and well taken care of. I highly recommend him, he is great with dogs!”

“Our long time dog sitter recently moved and I was really nervous about finding someone to watch the pups. My sister recommended the rover app and boy did I get lucky by finding a great sitter my first try. Elle was gracious and understanding when I needed to alter the schedule just before leaving on our trip and better than that did a great job with the pups! They were happy to see us of course but not mad at us when we got home as they received great care and attention while we were gone! I highly recommend Elle!”

“Ava did a great job checking in on Ruby! She started her check in on the app, left a thorough note letting me know how the visit went and sent such great photos showing all the fun Ruby was having. I feel so much less puppy mom guilt on long days in the office when Ava can come do a drop in visit with Ruby. We feel so lucky to have found Ava on Rover.”

“Emma will be booked again by us. She called & spoke with me, at length about Finley’s very specific needs. She followed every instruction to the letter. Thank you so much, Emma!!! We 🩷’d having you.”

“She is legit the sweetest and most professional young lady. I had a dog sitter for the past 3 years but she moved to NYC. I contacted Jadah and she made me feel so comfortable leaving my sweet girl with her. I travel for work and she will be my absolute go to forever !!!”

“Elyssa is great!! She was so kind and patient with our 2 big pups and spent extra time giving them love and attention. She is very communicative and we would absolutely recommend her!”

“Aleona was great with my puppy, she was very communicative and attentive to her! My pup was very happy and so were we! Would definitely book with her again, she is very trustworthy!!”

“again, lisa came thru on short notice- always reliable, she has made my life so much better! i was swamped at work and didn’t have time to get my home or bubba’s litter area as neat as i wanted it, and i came home to my place even nicer than when i left, which was SO nice”

About: I have worked at Petsmart before. At Petsmart we are required to know what makes a dog comfortable while at a public place or somewhere other than home. I have watched over puppies 2 and 3 months old for my in laws a couple times now. My parents got a kitten that I helped take care of till I moved out about 10 months later. I own a chinchilla which is an exotic small animal. I’ve had her for a year. I’ve been fascinated by pets since I was a child and always do my research before taking care of an animal. I look forward to being of assistance. I fluctuate between part time and full time. I’m usually free tuesdays, wednesdays, and thursdays. I can schedule the time off if it’s 3 or 4 weeks in advance. I usually work mornings except for mondays, when I work evenings. I can always visit the pup or kitty during break and then spend the rest of the day with them after work. This will most likely be temporary until I can get a solid schedule here or at Home Depot. My apartment complex is very pet friendly. My building is only a few steps away from a dog park inside of the complex. The clubhouse has dog treats and I can provide as well based on age and diet. I will always ask any questions about what you would prefer for your fur baby. I have a chinchilla that stays in a cage as long as your pet is around. She is curious and will not hurt your pet even if they stick a paw in between the bars, which is hard to do anyways. My living room is a large space for any pet. I’m currently working part time, but I’m willing to do weekly stays with 2-3 weeks in advance notice. I also will require meet ups before every service in a public place. This is not going to be required for existing clients. I live in an apartment so I don’t currently own any pets, but everyone in my direct and extended family either has, or has had one that I’ve grown up with. I’m very familiar with animal routines and attributes. If something is bothering your pet, I will notice. I always keep in constant contact with whoever I petsit or help take care of for anything I may notice. Most of the time it’s things owners are already aware of, but I’ve always found it never hurts to ask and inform.
“Kendra took wonderful care of my cats. She was easy to communicate with and kept me updated with as needed. I really like that she was responsive and comfortable with both of my cats.”

“Ruth was wonderful watching our cats for a week. She is very sweet and calming with the animals. She sent pictures daily and left us a little message. She brought in mail and packages and even helped us on trash day by taking down the can. Would recommend her snd plan to reuse when we have another long trip. Thank you Ruth!”

About: I love watching my bf’s sweet blue heeler, Rosie! She is my bundle of joy and brings the energy and love whenever she meets someone! I am so loving, patient, and I enjoy animals curiosity with the world! I’m trying to gain more experience with animals to maybe be in this field for a career later! I am pretty flexible! Available usually all day on mondays, tuesdays, thursdays, and most fridays and sometimes saturdays! On wednesdays, I’m available all morning until 2pm! I am unavailable sundays (: I will make sure your pet is safe and hydrated and use the bathroom when needed and have no problem cleaning! I will make sure they are loved on with good energy!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
