About: I’ve been caring for pets for many years and understand that every animal has unique needs and personalities. I currently have a 12-year-old Japanese Akita, a 13-year-old German Shepherd, and a young Highlander cat, giving me hands-on experience with both senior pets and energetic younger animals. Caring for my senior dogs has taught me the importance of patience, recognizing health concerns, maintaining routines, administering basic care, and adjusting exercise levels based on age and mobility. I am comfortable with dogs of all sizes and breeds, including large dogs, and I understand the importance of safe handling, positive interactions, and consistent care. Whether your pet needs a walk, drop-in visit, feeding, playtime, medication reminders, or companionship while you’re away, I will treat them as if they were my own. I pride myself on being dependable, attentive, and communicative, and I’m happy to provide updates and photos during every visit so you can have complete peace of mind. As a pet owner myself, I know how important it is to trust someone with your furry family members. My goal is to make sure your pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. Pet care is a part of my daily routine. I care for my 12-year-old Japanese Akita, senior German Shepherd, and young Highlander cat every day, including feeding, walks, exercise, grooming, playtime, and monitoring their health and well-being. Caring for pets has taught me the importance of consistency, patience, and attention to detail. Because pet care is already a regular part of my life, I can easily incorporate walks, drop-in visits, and other pet care services into my weekly schedule while providing reliable and attentive care. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I strive to maintain their normal routine to help them feel comfortable and secure. I follow all instructions regarding feeding, walks, playtime, medications, and any special care needs. I make sure pets have fresh water, receive plenty of attention and exercise, and are kept safe at all times. I also respect my clients’ homes by keeping everything clean and secure. Communication is important to me, so I provide updates and photos during visits to give pet owners peace of mind while they’re away.

“Alexandra took wonderful care of our cats for 3 days. Her love of animals is so apparent. Both cats loved hanging out with her, even our sometimes surly cat Mr. Mox. She stayed for longer than the 40 minutes, playing with them and making sure everything was clean and that they were set for the rest of the day. The pictures she sent proved how happy and relaxed the cats were with her We will definitely rebook the next time we need help!”

“Cannot recommend Sara enough! She was incredibly thorough and sent so many pictures and videos. We were out of town for about a month so she even offered to help with the plants and bringing in the mail, etc. She is incredibly kind, professional, and very obviously LOVES animals. It was such a relief to know my little buddy was in such capable hands. Thanks again Sara!!”

“I’m a travel nurse so I work really long hours. Katie came and sat with my girl a little bit each day I was at work and went above and beyond to take care of my girl!! If I’m ever in her area again I will so be using her again to take care of Willow. She truly loved my dog and my dog loved her. At one point I flew home and my sitter called was I landed and unable to care for Willow. Katie stepped up and made a very stressful situation bearable!! She is amazing and I 10/10 recommend her to anyone!”
“Rachel was so so great…caring, loving, kind to our black lab Rosie. She did drop in visits while we were away for 4 days. Extremely reliable and went above and beyond. She even gave Rosie her dog’s slow feeding bowl to see if that would help her eat a bit slower. Would recommend Rachel without hesitation. Thank you so much for taking care of our girl!!!”

“Eric was amazing! This was our first Rover experience and it was fantastic. Such a contentious caregiver for our Maizy. We appreciated Erik’s flexibility , the meet and greet, and all of the updates and pictures that he sent while we were away. Outstanding!”

About: I've owned and cared for animals since high school. In addition to dogs and cats, I've owned horses since I was 16. I have been\am a foster parent for the Animal Rescue League of Boston since 2020. I'm a former puppy foster for service dogs and participated with early puppy training. I have carried those skills over to training other foster puppies and my personal dog. I have a medical background (EMT) and my daughter is a Vet Tech so I am very comfortable working with animals with medical needs and will follow any required medical plan. In addition to dogs and cats, I'd love to meet\care for your backyard farm animals; horses, pot-bellied pigs, chickens, goats, sheep, etc. I have experience with some of these animals through ownership and fostering opportunities. I'm currently unemployed so I'll have plenty of time to spend with your pets. I'm available for petsitting any day of the week and can work around any personal appointments. Boarding in my home is restricted to cats or other small animals. Puppies (under 1 year) may be accomodated, no adult dogs. For cats; we have a dedicated "cat room" to keep your pet separated from our pets. The room has a screen door so they don't feel locked away and can be part of our household while remaining safe. You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
