“Breanna is very kind, caring and did amazing with our pack. I would use her again! She took good care of our home and our pets are all happy. Very satisfied with her and would use her again for overnight stays in our home.”

About: I’ve animal sat for lots of family & friends, I have animal sat snakes, chinchillas, cats, dogs, guinea pigs, fish, and lizards! I love all animals, and even if I haven’t taken care of a certain animal, I am willing to educate myself on how to take care of them. I do currently work full time and go to school part time. I’m available on weekends at any time, during the weekdays I’m available before 2:30 and after 11pm I’ll always be outside with a dog when it comes to using the restroom just to make sure nothing happens, if your dog isn’t good with other dogs I’ll ensure that we go to the park when there’s no other dogs, or if I’m walking and another dog is coming I’ll just go to the other side of the sidewalk.
“Mason is so good to Joely. Joely is very anxious and Mason handles her so well and takes the time to make her comfortable. Mason provides updates and pictures all the time. I know Joely is completely safe and comfortable in Mason’s hands and it calms my anxiety of leaving Joely. I would highly recommend Mason to anyone for their pet’s needs.”

“Zaria was such a gift! She went above and beyond caring for our three cats—two of whom are on medication—with so much love and attentiveness. The house was spotless when we got home, and the cats were relaxed, happy, and somehow getting along even better than before we left. She’s kind, reliable, and just a joy to work with. We honestly can’t recommend her enough!”

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats my entire life. I have been surrounded by dogs since I was born and have had a dog since then. We have always had cats as well and they are all treated like royalty. Pets truly are a part of the family and I will be sure to treat and care for yours as I would my own! I am currently fully available to pet sit, take on walks at any time of the day. I am fully committed to making sure your animals are taken care of and get enough human interaction! My dog personally doesn't do the best with other dogs as she's getting older and doesn't want to be bothered, so I would make myself fully available to come to your home at any time. Obviously every pet is different and on different schedules so I would make sure to follow your pets schedule and routine just as I would for my pets.
“Emily was an extraordinary dog sitter! She went over and above to provide a comfortable and relaxing time for our two old dogs. We were constantly updated with cute pictures of them playing and came home to a squeaky clean house! We cannot say enough positive things about our experience.”
“Brit was an absolute gem of a dog sitter while caring for our sweet Maybelle. From the moment she stepped in, it was clear that she approaches her work with remarkable thoughtfulness and heart. She didn’t just “watch” Maybelle — she truly cared for her, paying close attention to her routines, her little quirks, and all the small details that make her who she is. Brit kept us updated and gave us such peace of mind, which is priceless when you’re away from your beloved pet. It felt like Maybelle wasn’t simply being looked after — she was being genuinely cherished. And as if that weren’t enough, we returned home to a house that was beautifully tidied and welcoming. There’s something so comforting about walking back into a calm, cared-for space after time away, and Brit made that happen effortlessly. We’re beyond happy with her care and can’t recommend her enough. She treats both pets and homes with the same warmth and respect as if they were her very own — and that makes all the difference.”

“Emily was awesome!!! They were so relaxed and content when I got back from my trip I could immediately tell they were well cared for and got plenty of exercise and playtime. She sent tons of photos and updates and left my house spotless. I even think my dogs are World Cup Fans now!!! Will repeat”

About: I’ve taken care of all kinds of animals since I was young! Growing up we had dogs, cats, horses, cattle, chickens and more. I have taken many veterinary medicine related classes as well as exotics. I can care for senior pets, puppies, and everything in between with the same love and care that I would my own. I also volunteer at the local animal shelter where I have gained even more experience with animals of different temperaments. Your pets will be safe with me! I currently work full-time but I am always looking to switch up my routine. I am awake early for my job so walking or taking pets out for the bathroom and breakfast in the morning perfectly aligns. The same goes for when I am home from work. During the weekends, I tend to be outside so walks, hikes, trips in the car are frequent. I will follow all guidelines given to me by the pet parent. I will also pay special attention to medical cases, seniors or those who may need it. With me, there will be lots of snuggles, potty breaks, walks, and vital checks (if needed) just like with my own fur babies. I can crate if needed but I prefer not too if it is not necessary.
About: Growing up I’ve always had some sort of animals in the house! I’ve always wanted to be a veterinarian growing up (i’ve changed my mind since lol) but i know i definitely want to do something with animals! I recently had to leave my full time job and am looking for something different and better to fit my lifestyle! I’m available 24/7 and am just going to see house this works out! I would follow any rules in client’s house that are needed to ensure safety with pets! Making sure there isn’t anything for pets to get into, making sure gates are closed when letting pets out, engaging with the pets (providing exercise and attention), exercising pets as needed, etc.
About: I have taken care of family members', family friends', neighbors', houses, pets, and children since I have been in high school and I am now a 2023 graduate from Central Michigan University. I have taken care of senior pets, both cats and dogs, for several days at a time. I am comfortable with giving medication and tending to any other special needs your fur baby may have. I am also comfortable with taking care of several pets at once, as I regularly stay at a household with 6 pets in the home (4 dogs and 2 cats). I have a dog of my own and I strive to care for others' pets as they are my own. I am currently a nursing student at Oakland University. I am in the accelerated program and my schedule changes every 6-7 weeks. Until 4/16, I have 12 hour clinical days at Troy Corewell on Thursdays and Sundays and class 3 days a week ending at 2 PM on Mondays and Wednesdays, then 10:30 AM on Tuesdays in the Auburn Hills area. I am also available in the Macomb and St. Clair areas. I am completely comfortable with staying in the home with pets to keep them on their routines in a familar environment. I have stayed one night up to 2 weeks, so I am flexible with whatever you or your pets may need. My dog loves to play with other dogs, so I can introduce them if requested.
“Bobbie was great!! We have two that can be naughty but she was the best with them!! I know they miss her!!! Our flight was delayed and she even offered to go back over to check on them.. ♥”

About: I have a unique experince with many years caring for my past dog, guinea pig, and current cat and betta. I love every species and am well informed in all areas. I monitored and medicated my guinea pig around the clock when she was sick and my cat came to me as a kitten with a bot fly and brain and eye infection at three months old. I put endless hours of care into him and he is now a healthy three year old. I love animals and will never show up uneducated. I work a 9-5 so I would have to work around that! I would be the ideal help for someone with morning or night shift. I will tailor care to each animals needs. I am currently rehabbing a betta while caring for my 3 year old cat and I understand each animal is different. I will educate myself on the breed and listen to you about how to best care for your pet.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Harsens Island walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Harsens Island maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Harsens Island choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
