About: I have grown up with cats and dogs, two dogs and 4 cats over my lifetime. Both outdoor indoor pets and I am very active with them. Pets need love and support from us as much as we need it from them. I spent three years volunteering at the Oregon zoo working with animals. I am flexible and creative, easily adapting to pet's needs. I am also patient and calm with them. I have loved animals since I was a kid. I refused to hit a piñata at a party because it was animal shaped. I will love your pets as if they are my own. I am always happiest when I am around pets. I work from home on a salaried basis, so my schedule is flexible. Especially from early morning until 3pm. I can do quick drop ins and/or long stays if they need a little interaction. I pay attention to location of plants, making sure they are out of reach and not a hazard to pets. I make sure all toys left out are safe, not too small to chock on. Making sure toys don't have anything to tangle up with. I'll watch to make sure pets don't eat too fast and get sick.

“Charlie is very kind and was super attentive to my cats and their needs! You can automatically tell he really loves animals and wants to give them the best care possible. He will be my go-to cat sitter from here on out! :)”

“Thank you so much! Sorry I was MIA, no service in the mountains, normally I communicate better. The boys were very happy to have their snacks and a clean box, I had a great time away because I knew they were well cared for.”

About: I work for a doggie daycare and dog walking company and I walk up to 10 dogs at a time by myself in all kinds of weather. In hot weather, I bring them to shaded parks. I use healthy treats for training and every dog improves, some dramatically. My business partner and I have given sick or injured dogs wagon rides on paved bike trails to get them fresh air and socialization with their friends. At the time of this writing, between the daycare and Rover, I have worked with 80 dogs. I am currently working full time on weekdays, but I’m available on weekends for dog walking, house sitting and drop-in visits. Dog walking is included with house sitting. I am available to pet sit in client’s homes and walk dogs. I am an avid hiker, so I would take them for walks and runs if appropriate. I double check to ensure harnesses are adjusted properly and comfortable. I use a dog walking belt to attach leashes to, keeping my hands free to pick up after them. If another dog passes, I distract my dogs by offering treats for sitting, staying and directing attention at me. I love taking them to play in parks or the yard, and give lots of love, head scratches and belly rubs! I take time to train so they will trust me and come to me when called. I use a happy, excited voice to encourage them to walk, and a calm, gentle voice when giving them a treat so they learn to take it gently from my hand. I even learned commands in Spanish to help a dog who understands that language best. In addition, I have earned online certificates in Dog Emotion and Cognition from Duke University and Animal Behavior and Welfare from the University of Edinburgh.

“Kira was great. I could tell my two cats had been in good hands while I was away since all was calm and peaceful with them upon coming home. She even got my shy boy to welcome her pets after a few visits. Home was left in tip top shape; no complaints.”

“Chris was the absolute best! The dogs loved him and can't wait for him to visit again. He kept us very well informed - we felt very well taken care of too. We are very thankful to him for saving our Thanksgiving trip.”

“Erin is excellent at taking care of cats. Every time she comes to my house, my cat eagerly waits for her, hoping to be petted, and even sits on her lap. She left me detailed and heartfelt message about how my cats were doing that day . I completely trust her to look after my cats.”

About: I grew up with a dog as well as having two dogs in my adult life. I have experience with all size dogs with different needs and temperaments. I'm definitely a cuddly, caring, ready to have her face-licked dog lover! I enjoy long walks, I usually walk my own dog 2-3 times a day for a total of about 3 miles. As far as cats I have experience with indoor and outdoor cats, cuddly cats and cats that prefer to be left alone, I love to play and cuddle and meet the needs whatever they are! For both dogs and cats I am good with routines, medications, dietary needs, you name it! **Right now I have the capacity to take one regular drop in/walk 1-2x a week Monday-Friday in Milwaukie or Oak Grove. Otherwise I am happy to fill in if you’re a regular walker is unavailable or you are looking for more of a one off visit!** I am a Real Estate Agent with a flexible schedule. I generally work from home and can plan my work schedule around your pet's needs! As far as being in your home, as a Realtor I'm very used to ensuring everything is locked up and that homes are left the way they are found! I am also used to walking large/strong dogs no problem.

About: I have dog sat for family friends my whole life. I have had a two of my own dogs. One from childhood and I got my last dog when she was 10 weeks old and she recently passed at 13 years old. I miss having her at my house dearly. I love dogs and have had experience with all ages ranges. My mom was a science teacher so I have cared for all types of animals, lizards, rodents, Chickens, ducks, you name it I have taken care of it. I have a love for all animals and am able to notice body language of dogs/cats and be a friendly loving person to all pets. I work from home, I have to leave for about 30 mins in the morning and afternoon to take my bf to work. But other than that I am at home and can easily take a dog out to my yard or refresh water etc. I have a fully fenced back yard and a cat in my house that has grown up with a dog. I have a live in boyfriend that will not be responsible for care, custody or control of any pets during any bookings. He also, loves dogs, and would be there to provide extra pets.

About: I have pet sat since I was a younger kid, dog walked, and gave anxious animals comfort. I try to understand your animals worries always. For me, they come first and deserve only the best. Only going to school online, I have plenty of time for your animals! I am very flexible. I will take them on walks, bathe them if needed, and maybe spoil them a bit because they deserve it with that sweet face. I am very adaptable and good at directions. I enjoy making a safe and comfortable environment for each animal, not pushing them out of their comfort zone.

David G.
“I am so particular with who can be around my fur baby, Wendy. She is very selective about who she lets into her little world and can get scared easily. David took his time earning her trust and mine. Now we both love him! He clearly has experience around animals and his passion shines through as he interacts with them. Would definitely book him again and will be recommending him to several friends.”

Donna O.
“Donna is an incredible pet caretaker with ample professional experience working with animals. She worked for a dog walking company for three years, often walking up to 8 dogs at once. She always showed the dogs a ton of love and would talk endlessly about each one whenever I talk to her. She clearly understands each animal's personality and takes great care to not just walk them but provide them with training and behavioral exercises that are tailored to each dog's needs. She is very careful and highly values the health and safety of the animals she works with. Additionally, she has always been a loving caretaker for her own pets, and she has been a devoted caretaker for my own pets whenever I am out of town. She would be a perfect fit for Rover, and I hope you will seriously consider hiring her.”

Rachel T.
“I’ve known Rachel for about 10 years, and during that time, she has consistently shown herself to be one of the most trustworthy, compassionate, and animal-loving people I know. I’ve witnessed firsthand the love and care she gave to Lily and Muffin, and I have no doubt she would make an excellent pet sitter. Rachel has a natural ability to connect with animals—even those who are shy or timid—and I’ve always felt completely at ease knowing she was available to care for my pets. Her calm presence, reliability, and genuine passion for animal care make her an ideal addition to the Rover community.”
