“This was our first house sit with Katelyn and I will definitely be rebooking. She took care of my large dog, 2 cats and home as if they were her own. 10/10 definitely recommend Katelyn.”

About: I have grown up having dogs my entire life. I have two family dogs named Comet who is 15 years old and Lucy who is 8 years old. I love my dogs and have taken great care of them. I also regularly walked a dog named Lucy (different from my family’s dog Lucy) twice a week for a year while in college along with many other walks, drop-in visits, or sitting opportunities over the past six years. I enjoy walking, sitting, and doing drop-in visits for dogs. They bring me great joy, have such fun personalities, and get me outside for some exercise and fresh air. I am a social worker who is currently working on transferring licenses from states. With that said, I am currently very flexible with my schedule. I will always prioritize your pet’s needs. I usually like to see what the dog is doing in their own space or in a new space like my house so I can learn their preferences. I am always in the same room as the dog and never leave them on their own. My house is very clean and organized. There is plenty of living room and bedrooms space for them to roam around.

About: friends and family have trusted me with their pets and i’ve never let them down. i’m very reliable and will love your angels like they’re my own. i currently work full time, but im available any time Tuesdays and Saturdays and can do early mornings to midday Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. i’m a calm, inviting and friendly person who will always have toys and treats with her. i’ll make sure your animals are safe and comfortable in my care
“In a last minute scramble Taylor was able to watch Eli and house sit for us. She was very flexible and we appreciate her showing our pup so much love. 10/10 recommend! Thank you again!”

“Andrea (Ash) is a terrible Rover. Definitely don't hire her...... That way she'll always be available for my Cocoa when we need her. Okay, being serious now....if and when we ever need another Rover for our baby, you can rest assured we will be desperately trying get her again - she was wonderful with Cocoa and very with us. You could see it in the pictures. Cocoa was happy and loved while we were gone. We have been reluctant to take any trips because we aren't comfortable leaving our baby. But with Andrea, we both felt assured that she was in great hands. We will actually be much more likely to take trips if we can get Andrea to be our Rover in the future!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats for over 15 years through being a pet parent myself. I currently have two dogs and two cats, so I’m very comfortable with different personalities, sizes, routines, and energy levels. While I’m newer to professional pet sitting, caring for animals has been a huge part of my everyday life for years. I’m dependable, attentive, and will treat your pets with the same patience, love, and care I give my own. I have a flexible schedule and can accommodate a variety of pet-care needs throughout the week. I’m available for drop-ins, walks, and other care with plenty of flexibility, including weekdays and weekends! I know how important it is to feel completely comfortable with the person caring for your pets! I’ll always follow their normal routine as closely as possible, from feeding and walks to playtime, medications, and all the little things that make them feel at home. I’m very attentive to safety, will keep you updated, and will treat both your pets and your home with the same care and respect I’d want for my own.
“Brandi is great at communicating and understanding my anxious pups needs. George was so happy and relaxed when we came home from a week long trip. I'm so happy he has such a caring new bestie to stay with him when we're out of town.”

“Nadia was absolutely incredible! From the moment we left, she kept us updated with photos and messages, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She took amazing care of our golden retriever, Syla, treating her like she was her own and making sure she was happy, comfortable, and loved the entire weekend. When we got home, our house was spotless, and Syla was relaxed, happy, and snuggled up on the couch. It’s clear that Nadia genuinely cares about both the pets she watches and the homes she stays in. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would trust her again in a heartbeat. We highly recommend Nadia to anyone looking for a kind, reliable, and thoughtful pet sitter!”

“Lillian (Ruthie) took such loving care of my li'l girl Sadie! This was my first time leaving her since a cross country move, and Ruthie helped keep Sadie's routine consistent while giving her a quiet, comfortable environment. She was also wonderfully communicative, trustworthy, and caring. Thank you, Ruthie, and we look forward to having you out again!”

“Oh my goodness!! There are no words to describe how pleased we are with Alexandra. She is by far the best care taker for our dogs and our home. We are so over the top dog owners and she totally respects the love we have for our pets. She followed all our directions to a T. We tell how happy our dogs were by the photos she sent. Olive was rolling around in the grass so happy. And, Cassie was bossing her around as usual. We highly recommend Alex for exceptional care and the love most of all. Its not just a job for her she truly loves animals 💕. Worth every penny!!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats of every age and need since I was 10 — from rowdy puppies and playful kittens to senior pets with special requirements. I’m comfortable administering oral and topical medications, tracking dosage schedules, and watching for changes in appetite, mobility, or behavior. With senior pets, I focus on gentle routines, extra rest, and close attention to comfort. With younger pets, I prioritize safe socialization, play, and structure so they get the interaction and exercise they need. I offer boarding and house sitting, so pets stay in a comfortable, familiar routine whether they’re in my care or their own home. Neighbors, friends, and family have trusted me for years to feed, medicate, and care for their pets like my own. I’m currently working part-time from home, so I have plenty of flexibility to give your pets real attention, not just a quick check-in. Here’s what a typical visit or stay looks like: • Available for boarding on weekends and weekdays after 2pm • Flexible daytime drop-ins for medication schedules and older pets who need consistency • Extra playtime and outdoor walks built into every visit, not rushed • Happy to adjust timing around your pet’s normal routine so nothing feels disrupted I treat every pet like my own, with a strong focus on both physical safety and mental enrichment. Here’s what you can expect: • Fenced yard and two friendly, dog-savvy dogs to keep your pet company • Daily outdoor time for fresh air, sniffing, and exercise — not just a backyard bathroom break • Enrichment activities like puzzle feeders, treat-scattering, and interactive play to keep their mind engaged • Comfortable crating available if that’s part of your pet’s routine • Careful medication administration and monitoring for any dogs or cats with health needs • A calm, decorated, pet-friendly space that feels like home, not a kennel

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 1,046 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hare. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hare walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hare maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hare choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
