About: Since a child, I have been trusted to watch, walk, and care for neighbors and friends dogs. I still care for my friends and families dogs. I grew into loving the difficult dogs, training lots of different sports and dog behavior. I love seniors/special needs who just need some TLC. Puppies are my absolute favorite. I enjoy the bond and training from the start. I'm currently a stay-at-home mom looking to start working again and thought this would be a great fit due to my passion with animals. I have a flexible schedule and am available to board most days. Dogs will be given love and attention, play, walks, really whatever they are into or owner needs. My own crew loves to swim in our pool, play frisbee or fetch the chuck-it. I have 3 custom built in crates that are massively oversized. I can keep dogs separate from my own or integrate. I absolutely love working with puppies and dogs and exposing them to new fun things!

About: Hello, I'm a dog lover, of all breeds, big and small and everything in between. I truly believe that your precious canine/feline will be truly at home with me. Animals off all sizes and breeds are special to me and also to God. I know I have a couple less than desirable reviews, but they were total misunderstandings. Unfortunately they stay on my page which makes me so sad because it gives me great joy to be there and stand in the gap for these precious animals. I also watch caged pets. I am very flexible, available at a moments notice. I love all animals and do everything in my power to accommodate. I'm not perfect but I love all animals perfectly. Another chance appreciated!!
“Kaya really enjoyed her first visit with Elizabeth!! This was the first time she’s had dog sitting in a sitters home and it went really well! I felt very comfortable with Elizabeth and Kaya really likes her 😊”
“Olga truly put me at ease about leaving my pooch with someone new to us. Murphy took to her instantly. The photos showed that he was doing great and having a good time! It's a relief to have someone like Olga to care for my pooch when I come up to the area.”

About: I have taken care of dogs, cats, fish, and lizards my whole life. I will spoil your pets based on what the owner allows me to do. I have an 11 year old Boxer who loves companion ship of all animals. Currently I am unemployed so pet care is my main focus. When I’m not taking care of my 11 y/o Boxer and 1 year old Bearded Dragon I’m looking up ways to make my animals more happy I will take dogs on walks at least 2 times a day and will take them to dog parks to run around. I have a 11 year old Boxer that will keep your dog company too. This household is cat friendly as well and will treat the cat like a king/queen that they believe they are.

“Cheryl was phenomenal and really helped me out on short notice to give my dog a calm place to spend the day. She was very communicative and flexible, and had lots of photos to share at the end of the day. Thank you, Cheryl!”

“Jacqueline was a pleasure to work with to arrange daycare for Brutus. She was communicative; responded in minutes with very clear questions. She double checked that Brutus had all the necessary shots. I didn’t go inside, but from the outside the house looked perfect for dogs in a nice neighborhood with grass and a yard. Her two dogs in the house must have had great personalities, because Brutus came home exhausted from playing. Thanks again, Jacqueline! I’ll message you next time.”

“Jennifer did a great job making our dog, George, comfortable while we were away. He was happy & well taken care of, & we would definitely have George stay again in the future!”

About: I grew up with animals my whole life, from smaller dogs to big dogs such as Akitas. I have a dog of my own almost 10 years old that I trained and have taken care of and I have had 2 cats, currently have 1 cat now age 10! I've been a nanny for years and always helped with their animals as well, from walking them, feeding them and giving them medicine! Love animals so much and honestly always wanting to adopt more. Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
