Melissa was an absolute dream cat sitter for me. My sweet Louie struggles with strangers and socialization. He is very anxious and doesn’t do well with new people, but I didn’t want him to be lonely on my trip. Melissa spent so much time and effort making Louie feel comfortable with her during her visits. She kept me updated the whole time with photos and updates on his behavior. She was neat and tidy, brought my mail in for me, and made sure he had everything he needed. I would give her 100 stars on this review if the app would let me. Melissa was phenomenal. I’m using her again in two weeks. I was so worried that I would find a sitter who didn’t understand Louie and who wouldn’t try to bond with him, but with Melissa that couldn’t be further from the truth. She was absolutely amazing and I am so glad Louie has someone like her to care for him now!

This was the first time we used Beverly for house/dog sitting. She kept us informed daily on how our buddy was doing and sent daily photo updates. She also gave him a bath and trimmed up his nails! When we returned the house was in good shap and our little buddy was happy to see us! Over all excellent work by Beverly!

About: Since I was a teen, I've always been the go-to person asked to pet sit for people when they went on vacation. I've done it for 10+ years. I recently graduated from law school in May, and I am currently studying for the BAR. I would love to make some money on the side, caring for your special guys and girls! Currently, I have full availability because my sole focus is studying for the BAR. So I can make myself available at any time day or night! I love animals, and I recognize how much they crave attention, especially when they're missing their owner. I would love to provide that necessary attention in your absence. I will make sure that your place is the same as it was when I got there. With a fresh litter box cleaning for cats.

About: I have over 12 years of pet care experience, working with puppies all the way to attentive senior care. My expertise in puppy training allows me to instill good behavior and obedience from a young age, while my senior care skills ensure that older pets receive the extra love and attention they need. Pet owners have trusted me time and again to provide reliable and compassionate care for their beloved animals, making me a standout sitter in the community. While I'm currently unemployed and preparing for my upcoming move to a new job and apartment, I have ample time and flexibility in my daily routine to provide dedicated pet care. It's important to me to make the most of this transitional period by offering my services to pet owners who need assistance. I can give their pets the attention, care, and love they deserve during this time while I'm available. Once I start my new job and settle into the new apartment, I'll reassess my schedule and explore ways to continue supporting pet care For pet sitting in my home, I prioritize safety and comfort. I have a secure, pet-friendly environment with designated spaces for pets to play and rest. I ensure there are no hazardous items within their reach and provide regular supervision to avoid any accidents. Additionally, I follow any specific dietary or medical requirements your pet may have, ensuring they receive proper care and attention. When caring for pets in my client's home, I focus on creating a familiar and stress-free environment. I'll always adhere to their usual routines, such as feeding schedules, walks, and playtime activities, to maintain a sense of normalcy for the pets. I take extra precautions to secure the client's home during my visits, ensuring the safety of both the pets and the property.

About: I love animals of all kinds but I especially love dogs. I have been caring for dogs for 11 years. I've raised two dogs from puppies to senior citizens and they have since passed on. Three years ago I adopted a high energy boxer mix. I enjoy training dogs and doing activities like hikes, playing ball and swimming with them. I make sure my animals have adequate exercise, healthy food and lots of love. I am home most of the time and am able to take dogs out for potty breaks every 2 ours if needed or whenever they signal. I take dogs out for a short walk in the morning and then a longer walk once it cools off in the afternoon/evening. I continue the feeding schedule that the owner specifies and only feed dogs the food their owners bring with them. I keep dogs and cats and they can sit or sleep wherever they are most comfortable. I have dogs beds but they are welcome to sleep on the couch if they want. If the dog is fearful, I give them their only little area until they warm up to the situation.

Jill was fantastic. She made sure my babies were loved! My baby girl Willow gets UTIs bad and she suffers with chronic pancreatitis- she hadn’t been sick in a while but of course she got sick while I was out for just one night! Jill let me know and she was able to give her the meds she needed. Grateful she was comfortable with doing that bc I did not expect her to be sick! She sent pictures and updates, which was much appreciated! Thank you Jill!

She came at last minute request and made herself available for all week. My dog is finicky, so I'm not sure how much interaction they had besides throwing the ball a few times. I didn't get any photos thru the dtay, but she also knew I was at hospital with my mom. Overall , I would use her again in an emergency, but I'm trying to get my dog to be out of kennel completely

We hired Angela for a four-day weekend to care for our two dogs, one of whom is older, while the other is three years old. We were absolutely delighted with her services. Angela stayed at our house, walked our dogs, and maintained everything perfectly. Upon our return, we found our home in immaculate condition. Thank you so much, Angela! We would definitely use her again in the future.

Catherine was wonderful! It was such a last minute booking, but she responded so quickly. It was a genuine relief to have her come and look after my dog and cat on such short notice. Both my dog and cat are of geriatric age and have differing needs with both having different medical conditions. She listened to our concerns and took our pet care instructions seriously. She comforted my dog who has severe separation anxiety and somehow managed to persuade my cat with princess-like standards to eat her entire can of cat food. Throughout the night, she responded quickly and sent pictures and updates. I would definitely book with her again the next time I am traveling with my pets in the Knoxville or Gatlinburg region.

About: I've had a love for animals since I was a toddler. Growing up, I use to visit my grandparents place and play with their dogs. And even though I liked being around animals in general, dogs were always my favorite to be around. And then eventually, I started having dogs of my own and learned how to take care of them. At the moment, I'm currently working part-time but am always looking to pet sit for extra income. I'm available throughout most of the week for drop-in visits and occasional overnight house sitting throughout summer breaks and holidays. I always clean up after myself when in the company of other peoples homes. And while looking after your fur babies in your home, I will make sure to clean up after them as well. Another thing that's important for me when caring for your pets is knowing their needs. This is because I want to make sure while sitting that I'm caring for your pets in the absolute best way I can. That they will be loved and cared well for as if they were my own.

Naomi took great care of our dogs, including being really accommodating of all of our anxious-dog-owner instructions. She was also super respectful of our house, including washing bed linens and remaking beds before she left — not anything we expected, but definitely appreciated! She was also easily to communicate with and flexible around some schedule chaos on our end. Would definitely book with her again!

Melissa is the best sitter we have had. I almost don’t want to add onto the praise because she will be booked up next time I need her. Melissa sends great photos and check-ins and I know she spends quality time with our crew. Our dog has none of the anxiety he has shown with other sitters.

We can’t recommend Megan highly enough! Our dog is reactive and requires a bit more attention and understanding than most, but she handled him with total confidence and care. She picked him up from boarding, which was incredibly helpful, and gave us consistent daily updates that really put our minds at ease. It’s not easy finding someone who’s both patient and experienced with dogs that need extra behavioral awareness, but she truly exceeded our expectations. We came home to a happy, calm pup! Thank you so much for going above and beyond!

FAQs for House Sitting - Halls Crossroads

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Halls Crossroads on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 701 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Halls Crossroads. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Halls Crossroads walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Halls Crossroads maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Halls Crossroads choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Halls Crossroads. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
