When you hire me to house-sit, your home becomes my home base. Aside from brief client check-ins, personal appointments, and my twice-weekly volunteer shift at the Knoxville Family Justice Center, my focus is entirely on maintaining your pets’ normal routines. To ensure a smooth stay, I am fully self-sufficient and bring my own groceries and personal toiletries. I only request space in the fridge and freezer for my food and drinks, along with a clean set of towels and fresh bedding for my sleeping area. My standard overnight care includes: • High-Presence Companionship: Because I anchor myself at your house, your pet gets maximum quality time, and your home gets built-in security. • Routine & Comfort: Maintaining precise schedules for feeding, medication, and exercise. • Home Security & Care: Bringing in the mail, managing trash bins, watering plants, and keeping everything clean. I also always physically double-check that all doors are locked before leaving or going to bed. • Constant Communication: Regular updates and photos so you can relax, knowing your pet’s favorite "Aunt" has everything under control. 🤝🗝️ Respecting Your Home & Boundaries I treat your home with the utmost respect, cleanliness, and professionalism. For your peace of mind: • No Visitors: I never bring guests or visitors into your home. My focus is entirely on your pets. • Smoke-Free: I am a non-smoker. • Privacy Respected: I am deeply respectful of your privacy: I never snoop, and closed doors remain closed. 🐾 Experience You Can Trust I have a lifetime of hands-on experience with a wide variety of animals, including horses, fish, chickens, turtles, rabbits, and pet rats. At home, I balance the needs of my cat, Raven, and my 117-pound Lab mix, Shadow, with my Eagle Scout son. ✨ I specialize in care across all life stages: • Puppies: I offer specialized puppy care to maintain consistency with your potty training, crate training, and high-energy routines. • Seniors: Having recently loved and cared for my toy poodle through her 14th year, I have a deep heart and a gentle touch for senior pets who need a slower pace, extra patience, or medical management. Whether your pet is spry and playful or moving a little more slowly, they will be treated like family... safe, happy, and cherished every step of the way. Melissa is so adored by my cats. She tenderly focused on every detail. The phrase, "went above and beyond" isn't sufficient for showing how she went about caring for the cats' basic needs as well as attentively considering precisely how they would want to play and receive love. She was extremely mindful of keeping my house secure and incredibly patient about answering questions related to my house and cats. She prevented a disaster that was totally unrelated to catsitting and found other ways to be extra-helpful. I couldn't be more grateful and relieved to find the perfect catsitter.
Melissa was excellent, she took the time to ask about my cat's particular habits, their personalities, and any special needs. She was both flexible with accommodation and easy to work with, while taking extensive notes. Overall, my cats seem Happy and healthy and the house was taken care of while I was away. 5 out of five would ask Melissa to take care of my void babies again.

Schedule
🗓️ As a recent Criminal Justice graduate, I have excellent flexibility. Aside from my twice-weekly volunteer shifts at the Knoxville Family Justice Center (Tues/Thurs, 12pm–4pm), my schedule is entirely dedicated to pet care. This allows me to be reliable and present for both precisely timed drop-ins and high-presence house-sitting.
