“My rescue Pom has major trust issues. Viktoryia did a great job of caring for her and gaining her trust. I would definitely recommend V. to anyone looking for a good spot for their furry friends. It’s so good to know I have a great spot for next time I need to find a Rover! Thank you Victoryia!”

“Jewell is a true jewel!! My nervous pup flourished with her and her sweet pups. My dog is a singlet and isn’t around dogs a lot !Jewell’s pups welcomed her into their home and became great friends with my pup. I appreciate the socialization she received while staying with Jewell. We will be using her again. She is amazing, her home setup is perfect. Jewell is fantastic for nervous dogs. Highly recommended!”

“Nicholas is very friendly and communicative. He sent regular daily updates via photo and video of my cat. My cat warmed up to the space within a couple days and was way more comfortable there than we would’ve been at a kennel. Highly recommend for a safe and comfortable place for your pet!”

About: I'm a lifelong pet lover with 20+ years of experience caring for both dogs and cats. I spent 18 years as a cat owner and currently share my home with Willy, my 5-year-old English Bulldog, and Lilly Grace, my 3-year-old French Bulldog. I work remotely from my home in Sarasota's Gulf Gate East neighborhood, allowing me to provide attentive care, frequent potty breaks, playtime, walks, and lots of love. I'll treat your pets like family and keep you updated with photos and messages while you're away. 🐾 Around here, the dogs have me on a pretty reliable schedule! Since I work from home, my days naturally include potty breaks, walks, playtime, treats (when approved!), and belly rubs. Your pet will have company throughout the day and won't be left alone wondering when their humans are coming back. I know leaving your pet with someone new can be stressful. That's why my goal is simple: make your pet feel safe, loved, and spoiled in all the right ways. With over 20 years of pet-parent experience, I'll keep routines consistent, provide plenty of attention, and send updates so you can enjoy your time away knowing your furry family member is in good hands.

“We had our pair of dogs stay with this family and they treated our dogs very nicely. A mature Golden retriever and a young and energetic aussie Sheppard. They exell at comunications, and are willing to go the extra mile. Highly recommend.”

“Linda was a terrific nanny for Oscar! She responded very quickly to my request, had a prompt and positive meet and greet… and was kind and caring during Oscar’s stay. We received numerous pictures of his “making himself at home” and a happy reunion after 12 days. Highly recommended!”

“Jacqueline is awesome...watched Maggie (our 5 month old Lhasa) and was wonderful. I don't think she was on her best behavior but Jacqueline was very tolerant and handled her so well. Took her for walks, played with her and sent us pictures of her stay. Was so nice not to have to put her at the kennels and be able to enjoy our vacation with knowing she was being well taken care of. The back yard is awesome as it is fenced in. Highly recommend!!”

“Leslie watched our sweet Remi girl who was only 13 weeks old. She hadn’t had all of her shots yet, so we were nervous to board her publicly. Taking her to Leslie, she was able to socialize with not just her two dogs but with tortoises, a parrot, and chickens! Our puppy also discovered that she loves swimming Leslie allowed her to swim in their pool. It felt like Remi was welcomed into a family and not boarded up all weekend! Thank you Leslie!”

“Debbie was wonderful. She took good care of my toy poodle and she was very communicative and always kept me up to date during my dogs stay. I would highly recommend as she will give you the best service”

“Lindsay is an awesome dog sitter. I had to leave the state for a couple of weeks and was perfectly comfortable having my “kid” at her house. It’s nice because she works out of her home and do you know about the dog isn’t love for long periods of time. I will definitely use her again !”
About: I have always had a dog in my life since I was born but my caretaking journey started when a little corgi entered into my world. She was an escape artist, food fiend, she couldn’t be left for too long and she battled anxiety her whole life, but she brought me the most joy. She taught me attentiveness, and limitless love. She recently crossed the rainbow bridge so I have been missing the presence of my fury friend but am excited to hang out with doggies again!!! Skills include: puppy care, senior care, special needs. During the school year, I am a grad student and my weekends are usually free. I have class 9-5:30pm tue-fri with a 2 hour break 12-2pm everyday. Mondays are always free. I appreciate a list of instructions specifically stating your pets schedule and needs. The more detailed the better:) I love to take videos and pictures to keep you updated through the process. I know how important it is to have peace of mind when leaving your baby with a stranger.
“Mylena is amazing! My dog Tessa has never been around children and let her know I was worried about that and she put me at ease the morning of drop off. This was my first time putting my animal in boarding before. Mylena texted me EVERY day with pics and updates. My heart broke leaving her for 2 weeks, but I knew she was in great hands. I will ALWAYS go back when I need a pet sitter. Thank youuuuu so much for making my girl feel right at home. Highly recommend!!!!!!!”

“I highly recommend Kelly! She was sweet, accommodating, and always quick to respond. We could tell our dog had an amazing time and was well cared for. We will definitely book with her again!”

“I highly recommend Yohanna and Mark. They truly love dogs, and the pictures they sent realty showed my dog as a member of their family. I liked that they only watch one pet at a time, so i knew mine was well cared for.”

“Jessica is amazing and everything you want from someone to take care of our lovely furry friends. We boarded our 17 week old pup with Jessica and could not be happier with our decision. She is observant, caring, kind, flexible, and never failed to provide updates and communicate with us when our pup stayed with her. I highly recommend Jessica and would 1000% board with her again!”

About: I have trained my dogs since I was fourteen and have a love for pets. I don't work and live in a home with a large backyard so your pets will have my full attention. I have two friendly loving dogs I take care of who would love to have extra friends to play with. :) Sorry but no pit bulls or aggressive breeds will be accepted. Thank you for your understanding. I stay at home but of course may go out for groceries or a small amount of time to the gym. My doggies are well taken care of and spoiled and would love some furry friends to play with. My backyard provides a good area for bathroom breaks and is cleaned on a regular basis. Dogs are allowed on the furniture and bed and are an integral part of my daily life and routine. They are very loved and they know it! :) Bathroom breaks are frequent as I keep an eye on their needs and the water bowls are always clean and available for them.

“Cyndee did a great job with our 10 year old Corgi. She regularly sent us photos and updates. I can always tell how much Murray felt relaxed by the way he acts when we bring him home. I would like to use her again.”

Christyn and her girls took such great care of Hatch! They treated him like part of their family and he played so hard with her pup, Meli, that he slept for days when he got home. We knew Hatch was in good hands while we were away and I'm pretty sure he wants us to go away again soon so he can go back. Thanks, Christyn!

I want to write about how wonderful Leslie was with our dog and our family. This has been our first time leaving our dog with someone else. We were nervous because there were more dogs around, she made us feel very conformable and kept us well informed. She gave me so many tips about how to take care our dogs anxiety and myself around other dogs on a daily basis. Rocco stayed w her x 5 days, she sent us pictures everyday. We were able to have our vac stress free, I will definitely book her again in the future. Thank you Leslie

Tiffany was amazing with my two boys (both large labs)! It was my first time boarding my 1-year-old puppy, and I was a little worried about how he would be with someone new. He had the best time with Tiffany. My mind was at ease knowing both boys were being well cared for. Tiffany sent pictures and updates to let me know how they were doing, which was so comforting. Will definitely be looking to use Tiffany next time I come to town - she is the best!! Cannot say enough wonderful things :)
Nathalie is an excellent dog sitter. We boarded our puggle Marley for six days, and she was easy to communicate with. She genuinely cares about her dogs and sends us daily photos of Marley. I highly recommend her and will definitely use her again for a three-week period we have planned in the near future.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Gulf Gate Estates home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Gulf Gate Estates.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Gulf Gate Estates sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
