“Hailey was fantastic!! She was very communicative about our cat and very patient in trying to get his fearful personality to come out of hiding. We will certainly reach out to her when in need of a cat sitter. Highly recommend her!!”

“We recently just moved to the area and feel so lucky to have found Elizabeth! She was willing to have a “meet & greet” meeting before us committing to booking and made us completely comfortable with her attitude, attentiveness, and caring way with our Miller. While away she was in constant communication when at our home for the drop-in visits and sent a ton of great photos and videos. In the future, when we need to travel, we will hire Elizabeth in a heartbeat!”

“Jordan is so sweet and attentive. He sent me updates after every visit, including several pictures! He gave my senior dog the extra TLC that she needed! He always showed up on time and was willing to go the extra mile. Would definitely recommend Jordan and will certainly be asking for him again in the future!”

About: Hi! My name is Sophia, and animals have always been a huge part of my life. I have hands-on experience caring for dogs, cats, foster animals, and neonatal kittens. I actively volunteer with local animal welfare efforts, assist community cat colonies, and have experience fostering vulnerable animals, including bottle-fed kittens and mother cats with litters. Because of my rescue background, I am comfortable caring for pets with different personalities, medical needs, and anxiety levels. I understand the importance of maintaining routines, administering medications when needed, monitoring behavior changes, and providing a safe, stress-free environment. I treat every pet as if they were my own. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles on the couch, or simply having a calm companion nearby, I will make sure they feel comfortable, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. I pride myself on being reliable, communicative, and detail-oriented. I provide regular updates, photos, and messages so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in good hands. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! I’m currently WFH, which means I have plenty of time to care for your furry friends! My schedule is extremely flexible, and I will work around what’s best for you! Currently not accepting pets in my home as I already have 1 foster cat, 3 personal cats and 2 dogs! As a result of this I will be primarily be accepting drop in visits, and other services that take place in my clients home!

About: I have owned pets since I was 4 years old. I have worked in the veterinary field since I was sixteen and am starting my 2nd year of veterinary school at Long Island University. Over the years I have pet sit for a total of 25 different dogs, 15 cats, a bearded dragon, a hamster, guinea pigs, and a turtle. I am able to medicate any dogs or cats, as well as give any injections needed (ex. insulin). I also have experience at a dog daycare where I was in charge of over 40 dogs of all sizes in one large yard together. I am currently working full time at UrgentVet and work second shift so I am available in the mornings or any time on my days off. When school starts at the end of August, I will be able to work around my class schedule and make adjustments as needed for your pet. I care for pets as if they are my own. I make sure they are comfortable and keep their daily routine that they are used to, to make sure everything goes as smooth as possible.
“Kaylee watched our 2 large shepherds and she was fantastic. Our dogs are very hyper dogs and both anxious in their own ways so we never feel the best leaving them with new people but Kaylee took lots of photos, our dogs were super happy and we felt so confident leaving them in her care. We will definitely use her again and recommend her to anyone looking for a loving sitter for your fur babies!”

About: Our pets change our lives for the better and I want to make sure they’re well taken care of too. By making connections via talking, playing, training, and grooming I pride myself in providing full care for my furry friends. I make training fun and learn their individual strengths! Pet care is an essential part in my daily routine. Each day begins by walking my pup, refreshing her water and food bowls. At the end of the day, I’m cleaning and prepping to start out routine over, putting toys away and doing our last walk of the night. I love taking my pups out downtown or to the dog park. If it’s dog-friendly, why aren’t we bringing the beans?! Everyone is always happy, fed, hydrated, and well played with. Pet hygiene and environmental cleanliness go hand in hand. I like to make sure I’m keeping my home clean for my pets. After all they play, lounge, and sleep in our home. The least we can do is make sure the space is free of dangerous objects or potential choking hazards. We also use pet gates in our home to ensure pet safety when cooking/cleaning/moving furniture.

About: I’ve grown up with animals my whole life and have taken part in caring for them! I also have pet sat my friend’s animals on many occasions with no complaints. I absolutely love animals and take a lot of pride in my passion for proper care and pet relationships! I am currently taking a class at Nassau community, but am otherwise completely free to care for your animals! The class is from 10 am to 12 pm. I absolutely love to play with and take care of any animal! I am incredibly passionate about creating close and safe relationships with cats and dogs.
About: I've had pets ever since I was born so I have a lot of experience taking care of them! I've helped out neighbors walk their dogs often and always enjoy it! I've had a dog for 10 years so I know a dogs routine! I volunteered at Cove Animal Rescue taking care of cats for a few months (as well as the 2 I have at home!). I am currently a pet care specialist at Dan’s Pet Care so during the weekdays I will have clients between 10am-4pm but I will try my best to hopefully make myself available to be able to attend to your pets needs! I enjoy spending time with my dog and 2 cats when I’m home and always try to attend to their needs as much as I can. I'm a big animal person so I'm always glad to do it!
About: I have owned both cats and big and small dogs and am experienced in training, raising, and taking care of all types of dogs in various states of health and ages. I love all animals! I work part time as I am applying to masters programs right now, so I will have plenty of time for dog walks and animal drop ins! I do not offer boarding or day care at my own house because of the multiple outdoor cats and other animals (like raccoons) in my neighborhood.
About: As a Biology graduate, current NYIT Physician Assistant student, and certified Medical Assistant, I bring a level of attentiveness, responsibility, and reliability that sets me apart. My healthcare experience has taught me the importance of following detailed instructions, recognizing changes in behavior or condition, and providing compassionate, individualized care—skills that translate naturally to caring for pets. I have been an animal lover my entire life and grew up with both dogs and cats, so I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs. Whether your pet is energetic and playful, prefers a slower pace, or simply wants extra attention and affection, I am committed to making them feel comfortable, safe, and loved while you're away. Pet parents can count on me to be dependable, communicative, and attentive. I will provide regular updates, photos, and prompt responses so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in good hands. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and treat every pet with the same care and affection I would give my own. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, belly rubs, or quiet companionship, I look forward to getting to know them and providing the highest quality care possible. I am currently on summer break from school so pet care would fit very naturally into my daily and weekly routine right now, since my schedule is very flexible. I am currently volunteering at a food pantry, which allows me to structure my days in a way that can easily accommodate pet care visits, walks, or extended stays as needed. Because I don’t have fixed work hours, I’m able to be reliable for morning, midday, and evening check-ins, and I can adjust my availability based on client needs. My volunteer commitment is typically set and predictable, so it doesn’t interfere with scheduling pet care responsibilities. I’m also comfortable planning my week in advance to ensure I can consistently show up on time and give pets the attention, exercise, and care they need. Overall, pet care would fit in seamlessly with my current routine, and I have the flexibility to be dependable, responsive, and attentive to each pet’s schedule. I care for pets in my clients’ homes and during walks, and my main focus is always keeping them safe and comfortable while respecting the owner’s space. When I’m in someone’s home, I follow all instructions closely and try to keep things as close to the pet’s normal routine as possible so they feel relaxed and not stressed. During walks and drop-ins, I make sure pets are secure on their leash and always supervised. I pay attention to their behavior and surroundings to make sure they stay safe, especially around other animals, people, and traffic. I also know how important trust is when someone is letting you into their home and caring for their pet, so I’m reliable, communicate clearly, and can provide updates so owners feel at ease while they’re away.
“What a great experience we had with Ashley watching our two dogs, three cats and guinea pig! Easy going, flexible time wise and punctual. Our animals love her and we will use her services in the future. Thank you Ashley!”

About: I like to joke that I was “raised by Rottweilers,” because at three months old my parents delivered a litter of rottie pups. We always had rotties growing up until we got into rescuing mastiffs. I’ve been involved in rescue work since I was very young, and caring for animals is just second nature to me. My 7-year-old special-needs pup, Blake, is my heart. He’s been with me since I rescued him as a tiny puppy off the streets of Puerto Rico. More recently, we welcomed Jet, a bouncy heeler mix who keeps us all on our toes with his endless energy! Seeing Blake and Jet as my fur babies means I understand firsthand the patience and attention it takes to care for dogs with very different needs. Anything from managing medical routines to channeling playful energy - I have it covered. I treat every pet like family, because that’s exactly what they are to me. I work full-time from home, so my schedule is very flexible. My dogs get a quick morning walk around Powderhorn, followed by regular potty breaks in the yard and a longer hour+ walk/hike after 3pm. I live in a townhouse community with an unfenced yard that is great for playing fetch and running. Otherwise, as most Jackson locals, I am often on the local trails, or the Snake River Levee, making sure animals in my care get plenty of exercise and socialization!

“Gianna is amazing!! I’m so happy we found her. She’s come several times to visit our dog Chester and he (as well as the rest of us) fell in love with her within seconds. She’s so kind and good with him. We’re so happy with her we’ve asked her to house /dog sit for us when we’re away.”

About: I’m a young college student that loves animals and willing to help you with all your dog needs. Flexible with schedules ( am, pm, and emergencies) and will provide more than just a service for your dogs. As a dog owner myself, I know how important a walk and a visit is for them. I know I am the perfect fit for your companion and I will make sure to make you and them happy with every visit. I am willing to give baths and small trims to fur dogs, feed, make sure they have clean water, brush coat, clean any messes, run, take to the dog park and any specific instructions ( ex: give pills, inspect cuts or wounds). I will provide updates and details to everything I do and when any concerns are noticed. I am dedicated and trustworthy to do all tasks mentioned above.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Greenvale
We were thrilled to find Jill on Rover - nothing short of exceptional and amazing when it came to taking care of our three cats whilst we were visiting family out of state. Her communication was fantastic and our boys were so well taken care of - we couldn’t have been any happier with having Jill take care of them. Thank you so much!!! M&M
Emily was wonderful with our pets! Our dog can take some time to warm up to new people, and Emily was so patient and persistent with her — by the end, you could tell she absolutely loved her. She kept us updated throughout the whole stay with photos and messages, which gave us total peace of mind. It was clear from the pictures that both our pets were happy, comfortable, and having a great time playing with her. We'll definitely be booking Emily again!

Talia is warm, attentive, timely, and a big animal lover. Our stubborn, and often aloof, shiba warmed right up to her, which is a major win in our books. And our very shy cat immediately came out of his cave to let her give him pets. You’re in very good hands with Talia’s care!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Greenvale. On Rover:
- 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
