“I’m so glad the host of the vacation rental were staying at recommended Rover. We had plans to go out for part of the day and I wasn’t comfortable leaving my 1 and 11 year old dogs unsupervised in a rental home where they’re not totally familiar - and I wanted to be sure the house was kept in order while we were gone. Though it took me some time to understand the workings of the rover app, I did ultimately connect with a lovely and very conscientious dog sitter, Katie R. She provided helpful communication ahead of the visit, was right on time and very friendly. Katie kept us apprised of how our pets were doing, even sent some pictures, so we could also see how well they took to her. Our only regret is that we live too far away to use Katie for our dog sitting needs on a regular basis!”

About: $20 off for first time bookings using https://www.rover.com/sit/nates19697 I've ran my own kennel for 15 years for small to medium dogs. I have a lot of experience with taking care of your pets and making sure you can function without the thought of your pet being mistreated. I have been a dog lover all my life. I also have non-aggressive French bulldogs your family member can play and bond with. I'm available anytime time. I'm just a call away from dropping your family member/members off for a nice clean stay until you arrive home from work or vacation. A nice big fenced in backyard so they can run and rest and I have three French bulldogs of my own. So they will have friends to talk and play with 😂
About: I have over 5 years of direct pet care experience, starting with petsitting for friends and families in the community. I’ve gained most of my sitting experience with chickens, cats, and dogs, but am happy to venture out. Through my work at a dog daycare and boarding facility, I became skilled at overseeing dog activity, safety, and cleanliness in a busy setting. I moved on to a position working with dogs one-on-one in a small grooming salon where I handled dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I am able to comfortably handle, care for, walk, and bathe dogs of varying sizes, breeds, and behavior. I am open to taking on a challenge, and am not afraid to clean messes. I look forward to meeting you and your pets and finding ways to ensure you’re comfortable throughout the entire process. Although I work throughout the day, I have plenty of time in my schedule to put toward spending time with your pet. I’m active in the mornings and evenings, and can give my undivided attention as soon as I arrive to your home. My weekends are open for overnight stays or flexible drop-in visits, and I am always open to discussing options for pet care throughout the week. My goal is to meet the needs of you and your pets, and I am more than happy to make accommodations. I am happy to work with you to find what will make your pet most comfortable. Whether it’s keeping them crated, or finding ways to keep them stimulated when alone, I look forward to finding what works best for your pet. We can discuss feeding schedules, exercise and activity preferences, stress-relief, and other concerns you may have as we plan for your time away.
About: I taken care when I was very young even taking care of ill/sick animals. I'll nurse them back to health when vets couldn't do it. I bottle feed and take them to the restroom when they are babies. I been taking care since 10 years old. I'm very open with my schedule and love to be around animals. I work from home working as a editor and have lots of free time. I have a gate area for all animals. I always have them on a leash and make sure we walk in the morning or evening. It's too hot for their paws if you have booties for them even great. Always have water on me and poop bags. I never have anything laying around for them to eat or play with. I'm always outside with them when need to go potty and play.

“First time Rover user that was initially very hesitant regarding the idea of having a 'stranger' watch my pup but front initial conversation, greet and meet, day of, and post service, Elizabeth was amazing to work with and made the entire process extremely easy and smooth as she puts her clients' needs first. As I was traveling to the area with an unknown schedule, Elizabeth was super flexible in scheduling, and extremely accommodating where she was willing to watch my pup at a different location than initially scheduled- was a HUGE blessing as my puppy is extremely sensitive to change and has a very high level of anxiety. Elizabeth sent a ton of photos and videos all day (I asked her to not hold back as it provides relief knowing my pup is doing well) which was greatly appreciated. Elizabeth is professional, understanding, accommodating, and truly has a heart for animals. Highly recommended!”

About: 🐾 A Lifetime of Love, Now Sharing It Through Rover Hi! I’m Isaac, and I’ve been caring for dogs for over 9 years. Before joining Rover, I worked for free because I simply love animals and wanted to help people in my community. Over time, my passion grew into a professional career where I get to do what I love every day — caring for dogs and making pet parents’ lives easier. I’m also an up-and-coming book writer, which means I’m extremely organized, focused, and detail-oriented. I take notes on every dog I care for so I can fully understand their personality, quirks, and needs. I always do meet & greets before starting any job so that your pet feels comfortable and you can feel confident that they’re in safe hands. I’m calm, patient, and dependable, even in the most stressful or chaotic situations — whether it’s handling a dozen energetic pups, an overly affectionate dog, or cleaning up big messes (which I always do so well you’d never know it happened!). I can handle pregnant dogs, multiple pets, and any breed, and I even offer free basic training for dogs who need a little help with manners — as long as they’re not aggressive. I understand all a dog’s cues — when they’re happy, nervous, or uneasy — and I always listen to what they’re trying to communicate. I take pride in the fact that I’ve never failed a single dog I’ve worked with, no matter how challenging the job was. The only pets I don’t take are aggressive or unpredictable dogs that have a tendency to bite, nip. My goal is to create a safe, loving, and positive experience for every animal I care for. I’m quick to respond to requests and open to long-term clients who want a sitter they can rely on year-round. If you’re looking for someone who’s passionate, responsible, and treats your pets like family, I’d love to be your go-to sitter! 🐶💙 Hi there! I’m so excited to be offering my dog sitting, walking, and drop-in services here on Rover. While I may be new to the platform, I’m definitely not new to caring for dogs! For the past 9 years, I’ve been the go-to dog sitter for family, friends, and neighbors — caring for pups of all ages, breeds, and personalities. Over the years, I’ve learned that every dog is wonderfully unique — and they deserve care that’s just as personal. Whether it’s a drop-in visit for some playtime and cuddles, a long refreshing walk, or overnight house sitting, I make sure every pet feels loved, safe, and understood. Here’s what makes my care a little different: 🐶 Heartfelt, Personalized Attention I don’t just “check in” — I connect. I take time to learn each dog’s quirks, favorite games, and comfort zones. Whether your dog is shy, energetic, or needs a little extra patience, I adjust my approach to make them feel completely at ease. 🚶 Walks That Nurture Mind & Body Walks with me are more than just a potty break — they’re time for enrichment, sniffing adventures, and positive energy. I match your dog’s pace and personality to make each walk both fun and fulfilling. 🏡 Respectful, Reliable Care at Home When I’m in your home, you can trust I’ll treat it — and your pets — with the same care and respect I give my own. You’ll always receive clear communication, photo updates, and peace of mind knowing your furry friend is happy and well cared for. ❤️ Built on Experience, Fueled by Love I’ve spent nearly a decade caring for dogs simply because I love it. Now, joining Rover lets me do what I love most — bringing comfort, joy, and trust to pets and their people. Your dog isn’t just another booking — they become part of my extended furry family. If you’re looking for someone who truly cares, not just someone who “sits,” I’d love to meet your pup! 🐾 🕓 Availability & Scheduling I aim to make pet care as flexible and stress-free as possible for every family I work with. 🐾 Drop-In Visits: Available any day and time — except on major family holidays. I’m happy to accommodate morning, midday, or evening visits to fit your dog’s routine. 🏡 House Sitting: I’m available for overnight or extended stays anytime. I just ask for at least one day’s notice so I can plan accordingly and give your pet my full attention. 🚶 Dog Walks: I offer walks daily between 3:00 PM and 11:00 PM — perfect for after-work strolls, evening walks, or nighttime potty breaks. Please note: I do not offer walks past 11:00 PM. Communication and consistency are important to me, so I always confirm bookings promptly and keep you updated with messages and photos during my visits. My goal is to give you total peace of mind — knowing your pets are cared for with reliability, love, and respect for your schedule. Hello! “Jennifer is always fantastic with our two cats (and they aren't exactly the welcoming type) and we would highly recommend her to anyone needing pet care. Thank you Jennifer!”

About: I've always had a special connection with animals. My dogs and cats have been rescued, not from a pound but have come to me either from the streets or random place. Had a mixed Rottweiler pup who followed me one rainy night, named him Lucky. Another rainy night years later a kitten followed me to my door, named her Pandora. Rescued a cat from inside a car hood once. Found an injured red cheeked parrot on the sidewalk, who I brought back to health and released back with its flock. They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks, I say with a little patience and lots of love you can teach any animal something new. I have had parents who's dog isn't so social walk up to me, sniff and ask to be pet. The parent telling me they don't EVER do that. Wouldn't mind a crazy active dog, love to stay active by walking around our beautiful parks. My week is pretty flexible I have a lot of free time on my paws. So your children will be very well looked after, they might get annoyed with having me around so much. Have a small yard that has a very small brick wall. I know the importance of safety and always having dog on leash. In-home in or out of crate is fine. And home visits whatever the owner is comfortable with.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
