Much of my work has been with dogs who require more understanding than the average person has: reactive dogs, anxious dogs, dogs who are typically hard to find care for. I’m Jen — a lifelong animal lover with over 4 years of hands-on experience working at an animal shelter, plus many additional months caring for dogs and other animals on a small farm property. If there’s one thing I truly understand, it’s dogs. Especially the shy, anxious, and misunderstood ones. They hold a very special place in my heart! There is no greater feeling than earning the trust of a dog who needs a little extra patience and understanding. At the shelter I worked with every type of dog imaginable, from easygoing family pups to dogs with more complex needs due to past trauma. I was trusted to walk and handle even the more anxious or sensitive dogs, helping them build confidence and learn to trust new people. I’m very comfortable reading dog body language and adjusting my approach so each dog feels safe, respected, and understood. One of the dogs I worked closely with, Donald, needed a trusted handler present while new volunteers learned how to walk him safely, and I helped train others so he could get the exercise and enrichment he deserved. I also helped start enrichment initiatives at the shelter, including treat puzzles, mental stimulation games, and a “dog play buddy” program to give the dogs additional socialization and activity. About: I had a Shiba Inu for 11 years and took care of her medications and treatments for cancer for 3 years. She was an escape artist so I’m used to walking dogs every 8 hours on a leash. I work for a school and have a typical 8-4 schedule when I’m at work. I take dogs on long walks after and provide puzzles and games for enrichment. I have a fenced backyard yard. My kitchen, living, and dining room are all pet friendly. I have a medium crate if your dog is crate trained.

About: About me: I am a Project Engineer for a construction company, we a have a little boy and a baby on the way, and we LOVE animals! We have two beautiful horses, three wonderful dogs, and two cats. Eventually I would like to rescue a few farm animals and foster dogs. One thing that breaks my heart is seeing animals in the shelter or up for slaughter. I think every animal deserves a second shot at life and I wish I could take them all on. However I have saved a few horses from slaughter and retrained them to give them a promising future! Basically I work hard to give my animals and future animals a wonderful life! In HS I was an active FFA member which gave me the opportunity to expand my knowledge from just horses, dogs, and cats to dairy cattle, goats, poultry, rabbits, and swine. I also worked for a large animal veterinarian for 2 years as a vet assistant and gained even more knowledge on how to properly care for ALL animals. Ranging from exotics, livestock, equine, dogs, and cats. So your Fur baby is in GOOD hands! At this time I am only accepting clients for drop in visits or house sitting (I do not stay the night). About: I have been a dog sitter awhile and have gained a lot of experience. I have done overnight stays, check ins, dog walks, and more. I have a puppy of my own and have grown up with dogs my whole life. Neighbors, friends, and more have trusted me to check in on their pets, feed them, and play with them. Worked with many different dogs and various ages. I’m currently working part-time so I have plenty of time to come check in on the pups and play with them. My work schedule does change depending on the week but I am available every day of the week. I am free mornings and nights and would have time mid day to check in on the dogs. I have a fenced yard for my dog and I walk him twice a day so he can get his energy out. I would walk your dogs how ever much is needed. Additionally, I would make sure to check in on them multiple times outside of my other jobs to ensure that they are good and can be let out. I am comfortable making sure any necessary medication is given on time and that they are also fed at there normal times. I know how much pets need to play and I would love to play fetch and more with your pets!!

My evenings are reserved for more exercise/walks/fetch and plenty of one-on-one snuggles to wind down. We live on 2.5 acres so there is a lot of room to play fetch and get lots of exercise. It’s mostly fenced so I am happy to take dogs on leashed walks if preferred. We live in a large house which dogs are welcome in and will get lots of attention from my 3 year old son. We do have a cat (Boba) which is very friendly and stays in her own room at night so dogs have the rest of the house over night.
