“Love Rodney & Marissa, professional, provided clear instructions and they obviously love, love, love animals. My dog Bailey warmed up quickly and in every picture she was in full sprint, running leash free as she loves. She enjoyed the other dog’s company as well. Rodney & Marissa kept in communication with Bailey’s hovering Mom and Auntie. So happy and pleased with the service provided. 🥰🥰🥰”

“Where do I begin? Superior experience from start to finish! Communication about Trixie’s stay included pics and info. I felt at ease and confident that my pup was in good hands being well taken care of. I highly recommend Terry if you need a safe, welcoming place for your pet. 5+ stars!!”

“Lingli came through for our last minute doggy daycare needs and we are grateful! She was consistently responsive over messages, and was very sweet to our small dog, Gary, during their meet and greet, gently letting him get used to her. He was excited to see her again when we returned for drop off a couple days later. We appreciated the photos of his stay and know he was well looked after.”

“Ken and Felice are awesome! Definitely going to book with them again! :) Amazing communication and planning. My pup had a cone and stitches so he couldn't be boarded at his usual place, so thank you again so incredibly much for coming through for me in a pinch! I'm infinitely grateful and will book again!”

“I have never felt more comfortable with leaving my precious Corgi, Lugnut, than with Jim and Mary. It is evident as soon as you talk to them that they understand your dog is a family member. They are flexible with pick up and drop off times. The best part is they send pictures of the fun times throughout the day. I have used them many times, and are the first people I contact when we need someone to watch our pup. I could not sing their praises enough. Oh, and they have a fenced in back yard with a fence down the middle to create two play areas in case you have a shy dog, like my own. 5 stars isn’t enough to describe the wonderful experiences we’ve had!”

“Lydia Is an awesome sitter! My dog Bennett absolutely thrives there, she takes him on little adventures he plays outside it’s wonderful! I would highly recommend her! She also sends pictures all the time which I adore!”

“Brittanie and Ryan were super welcoming and their house is set up amazingly well for dogs. I love how they made sure my dog was a good fit for their family so that everyone is happy!”

“Kelly’s family is wonderful! They took such a great care of Toto 🥹 Took Toto for a walk to the park and updated me every hour!!! Super nice family and trustworthy 🙏🏻🥰 Toto enjoyed time there!! Thank you so much 😇🙏🏻”

“I highly recommend Auana as she is expertly took care of my pup while I was at work. She made sure to ask all the right questions to provide the right care. Norbert and I both were impressed with communication and attention during his stay. Thanks again!”

About: I do not own a dog personally, however I have had experience caring for dogs. I have dogsitted for as long as I can remember, feeding, walking dogs and genuinely caring for them. I love all dogs alike and at the end of the day I just want to see your dog happy. I am very active, patient and gentle with pets and understand a dog/cats needs from experience and teachings from pet trainer friends and friends that own pets. I am meticulous and detailed when it comes to care, especially understanding that when dogsitting I am dealing with another persons pet, but most importantly an animal that deserves care and respect. I would love to walk or play with your dog, and have committed the time to this work despite also working from home in another profession. Services will include -Meet and Greet. -Convenient/flexible drop off and pick up times. -Excercise/walks at least 3 times a day or whatever is preferred by the owner. -Sanitized rooms, vacuumed daily, and house will never be shared with other pets. -Around the clock attention for overnight boarding, I am able to be work from home every day when I have a dog in my care. I work from home in Ellicott city with time dedicated to care for pets. I am pretty flexible and willing to go out of my way for pet care work. I live in a very walkable and safe neighborhood community in Ellicott City. While not gated, it is a closed community and offers numerous paths for dog walkers, including a dog park nearby as well. There is a shared backyard where I have seen dogs play and ample space in my townhome. I have had cats/ dogs in my home in the past with no problem.
“Esther and Yi took great care of Eevee. Eevee was a picky and slow eater but Esther ans Yi was very patient and accompanied her to finish her food. Eevee had a great time with their puppies Milk and Peanut! She can’t wait to have her next vacation in Esther and Yi’s house!”

“Brianna was a joy to work with. We dropped our pup off in the morning and we were sent photos and updates which was wonderful. I strongly recommend Brianna if you’re looking for an engaged and thoughtful dog sitter. 10/10!”

About: What sets me apart is that caring for dogs is more than a side hustle for me—it’s part of who I am. After years as a tax professional, I stepped away to slow down and live with more peace. In my walk with Christ, I’ve learned the value of patience, consistency, and unconditional love—qualities that shine through when I’m caring for dogs. I truly enjoy their company and treat them like family. As a child, my father bred American Akitas, and I've owned and cared for over 25 dogs between myself and my wife. I've been around dogs my whole life. I enjoy their company, whether it’s a quiet cuddle, an energetic walk, or simply sitting with them so they feel safe and cared for. I know how important it is to trust the person looking after your pet, so I provide reliable communication, regular updates, and the kind of attention that makes your dog feel at home. Every pup in my care is treated like family, because that’s what they deserve. After stepping away from the busyness of my old career, dogs are more a part of my everyday life, so pet care fits naturally into my routine. I spend time daily walking or playing, feeding, and caring for my own dogs, and I structure my schedule so I can give full attention to the pets I look after. Whether it’s early morning walks, midday drop-ins, or evening feedings, I build my days around making sure dogs are comfortable and cared for. I enjoy the consistency and companionship they bring—it’s part of what keeps me grounded and fulfilled. In my home, safety and comfort come first. We live on 1.5 acres of land where I’ve trained my own dogs to respect boundaries and stay on property, but all guest dogs remain on-leash when outside unless otherwise agreed. I offer multiple housing options depending on the size and personality of your dog—ranging from crates (14in, 28in, or 48in metal) to larger 6x6x10 indoor kennel enclosures in our spacious 1200 sq ft basement. For social dogs, I’m able to introduce them carefully to my own confident and balanced dogs, but if separation is needed, I can easily house them apart. Guest dogs also spend plenty of time with me upstairs so they don’t feel isolated. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their routines closely—feeding, walk schedules, and house rules—while providing my own expertise where it benefits the dog. My only request is to use a slip lead leash, as it provides safer, more secure control, especially for larger or energetic breeds. I am comfortable administering medication, following special diets, and working with anxious dogs who need extra playtime or structure to relax. With years of experience handling XL American Bullies, combined with my calm demeanor and strong physical presence (6’4”, 275 lbs), I have yet to meet a dog I can’t handle safely. My goal is always to create a safe, trusting environment where your dog feels secure and cared for like family. During bookings, I personally supervise any minor children in my home to ensure all pets remain safe and comfortable. I understand Rover’s Guarantee applies to sitters and the booked pets, not to other family members.
“We booked day care with Francine super last minute and she accepted a same day request (on Christmas Eve!!) Our dog had a great time with their 2 dogs, running around in their fenced in back yard and chilling in the house. We would strongly recommend booking with Francine!”

“Robin made it really easy to drop my dog off and pick him up. He had a great playdate while we were going out for lunch. Robin sent lots of cute pictures and videos.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Granite
Nina was very communicative and present. She had a calming presence which made us feel instantly comfortable while dropping our puppy off for day care. Her space was clean and welcoming. She sent several pictures & kept us informed about our pup. Whenever we are back in the area visiting family, we will definitely look to book with Nina.🤍

Terry is the best! He took amazing care of our puppy, Ginger. After her meet-and-greet, she was so excited to come back for daycare! Terry provided picture updates throughout the day, was always responsive, and communicated promptly. It was such a positive experience from start to finish. We would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a caring, reliable dog sitter or daycare provider!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
