About: Dogs have had a tremendous impact on my life; I’ve trained & owned dogs for the last 20 years. Currently I own a Yorkie mix named Mayhem who loves motorcycle rides & fetch! Over the years I’ve helped strangers & friends with training & general care of their fuzzy babes. Pitbulls, labs, poodles, dobermans, tiny terrors & more. I try to add structured fun & exercise to any dog I encounter, paying attention to the dog’s personality & confidence level. A tired pooch is a happy pooch. I currently work nights, so I am flexible during the weekdays before 4pm to help let your dog have fresh air while you’re at work! And for nightshifters, I can let your dog out late in the evening because I naturally stay awake until approximately midnight to 2am. My true availability (I’m unable to modify the calendar to reflect this) is Monday & Tues available all day/night, Wednesday & Thursday between 7:45am to 4pm, Fridays before 2:30pm, and Saturday & Sundays I’m generally unavailable but open to requests on a weekly basis (especially if we have an established relationship). I am flexible & will do what you think is best for your dog. I am used to staying calm under pressure & providing a reassuring presence for your dog. I’m especially good for dogs which need a physical outlet seeing as I lead an active lifestyle with lots of running, walking, bike riding, hiking, etc.
About: I've been taking care of animals since I was 18 years old. I am not intimidated by size or breed of dog or cat. I have cared for dogs, cats, guinea pigs, fish, turtles, horses, chickens, llamas, and a hedgehog. If owner was okay with it I took the dog to work with me or to a park to walk. I currently work part-time at a park on Thursdays and Fridays and/or when someone needs coverage. I also attend church on Sundays. Otherwise I am available all days. I treat the animals as if they were my own. Play with them inside and outside when weather permits. I enjoy cuddling with them and enjoying their company.
About: Ever since I was around 5 or 6, I always remember being in a home with pets. Whether it was dogs, cats, reptiles, a potbellied pig, and even smaller animals. Older or very young, all of the animals I have had and cared for were very spoiled and given a life well deserved. I love every single animal and couldn't imagine a life without them. I believe that all animals deserve proper care, and a loving home. Any animal is loved as if they were my own. I am currently working at Kroger part time, three days a week. I am going to school full time as well. The days I work at Kroger are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday- 5 a.m.- 9 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays are the days I attend school and go all day. I plan on fitting in pet care after working at my job, and possibly weekends. I care for pets in my home or a client's home by greeting them and making sure they have everything they need. This includes making sure they are comfortable enough, with plenty of food and water. I also make sure they get taken outside or have access to use the bathroom often or whenever needed. Activities, such as playing, walks, or tricks is something I make sure to fit in as well.
“First time using the Rover service and our first time away from our pet for such a long duration. Franki was an excellent communicator, went above and beyond spending her time with our dog in his own home so he would be comfortable, and we're so thankful for her! Great experience and our new go-to option if we need to travel!”

“Jessica was fantastic with all of my pets and went above and beyond what I would have asked of her when one decided to create extra loads of laundry. She was able to follow their complex feeding schedule perfectly and made sure everyone was happy and taken care of while we were away. I will definitely be asking for her again in the future!”

“Bree was fantastic! She took amazing care of Lucy and sent the best updates and photos. Her detailed messages made me feel so comfortable while I was away, and it was clear Lucy warmed up to her quickly. Highly recommend Bree—she’s wonderful!”

“Mariah was excellent! She was concerned and caring. She made me feel like our two cats were in the hands of someone who actually cared about them, not just a person who fed them and then left. We’ve found our new pet sitter. Thank you, Mariah!”

“Hannah was wonderful throughout the whole process, and Bella was so happy and calm when we got home. Hannah was an excellent communicator and sent the sweetest notes and pictures of Bella each time she stopped by. We recommend Hannah to everyone, and we’re looking forward to having her watch Bella again in the future! Thank you, Hannah!!”

About: Hi! I’m Alexis an avid dog lover. I have two pets of my own, and lots of experience with animals. I am pet first aid and CPR certified through Purdue university, I have 5+ years of dog training and behavior experience, and I also worked as a veterinary technician assistant for 1 year and gained valuable animal husbandry and care skills. I’d love to hangout with your pup! I run my own pet brand where I work from home so I am able to host dogs, or come visit your pup any day of the week and anytime. I can make my schedule fit with yours! I live in a good neighborhood where we can take leashed walks, or drive to a nearby park to play. I can crate dogs or let them free roam, I have two other dogs to keep your pets company or I have the ability to keep them seperate if that’s what’s needed. For in home visits I can do anything you require!
“Breana was HANDS DOWN the best pet sitter we have EVER had, including when friends and family have helped in the past. I would absolutely hire her again. She was thorough and attentive, and gave us peace of mind while we were gone for over a week.”

About: What sets me apart is that I’ve grown up surrounded by animals my whole life—dogs, cats, fish, and even the occasional bunny. Because of this, I’m comfortable with all kinds of personalities and needs. I have experience walking energetic dogs, caring for playful puppies, and making sure senior pets feel safe and comfortable. My background helps me tune in to each pet’s unique routine and give them the same love and attention they’d get from you. I currently work full-time, but I have some flexibility during the week with enough notice. I hope to be working from home full-time soon, which will allow me to be home more often and more readily available to help care for your fur babies during special events, last-minute trips, or whenever you need an extra hand! As of right now, I have a domestic long-haired cat and a puppy who is a Mastiff-Pit mix. I’ve had my cat, Garrett, since he was born and my puppy, Storm, since April of this year. They are getting along much better now, although Garrett will occasionally swat at Storm when he gets a little too playful—there have never been any fights between them. Storm is very sweet, social, and full of energy, and he loves playing with other dogs. I also have extra rooms available to give visiting dogs their own space when they need a break, some quiet time, or simply a little room to themselves.
“Katie has been absolutely amazing with Lyla! She is very considerate with my instructions, and cares deeply for my fur baby. I have always felt comfortable knowing that Katie will take great care of Lyla when I’m busy at work. She has incredible communication skills and goes above and beyond. I would recommend her to anyone! Leaving your pet in the care of another can be scary, but Katie puts me at ease knowing Lyla is being loved like her own.”

“Taylor was amazing! We went above and beyond when caring for our pets and I felt very informed of how they were doing the whole time I was gone. Will 100% book with her again!”

“Amara was amazing! Even got my reclusive cat Soeren to come out for treats. Lily, of course, was her usual extroverted self and came out for lovies. So sad we only got to try her services once, but we will definitely recommend her to friends.”

About: For as long as I can remember, I have always had an animal in my life. I got a puppy at a young age and cared for him up until the day he passed. Since becoming an adult, I adopted a kitten and continue to care for him. He is now 6 and the light of my life! I have an extremely flexible schedule! I currently work part time with a lot of availability. I’m available at almost any hour of the day. I currently have a cat but he has his own space if tensions were to rise. I have a mid sized unfenced yard, but I know of multiple dog parks. I’m available to cuddle up with animals or wear out some energy!

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Grabill stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
