Heather was incredible! I could say enough great things about her. Our puppy loved spending the weekend with her and she sent me photos all along the way to ease my nervousness about leaving her for he first time. I would not hesitate to have her sit for us again!

What we most loved about Hailey was how quickly our animals took to her — our dogs were leaning against her within minutes, and even the cats who hide came out and let her pet them the very first night! It was comforting to leave our pets in the care of someone who clearly loves and understands animals. And though we ended up rushed and didn't have as much time as I wanted to orient her, she perfectly remembered and followed all instructions. We've already booked her again.

Avery is an excellent pet sitter! She took care of our dog and cat while we were out of town for nearly 2 weeks. Her communication was great while we were gone. Pets well taken for and had all the snuggles they could want. She clearly loves animals and that made it easier for us to leave our pets in her care. She is professional and we will certainly hire her again in the future. Thank you Avery!!!

Naomi and Hannah were great to work with. They came to the house prior to pet sitting to meet the dogs (and fish) and get the lay of the land. They communicated through out the process. They sent us pictures of how everyone was doing while we were gone. The dogs looked happy and well cared for. The house, towels and sheets were clean when we got home. Which is great when you get home late after traveling all day. I will definitely use them again and would highly recommend them.

About: I have been helping out friends and family with pet sitting for years. I enjoy being outside and staying active, love all animals, and am familiar with administrating medicine to older felines but am willing to learn for dogs/other breeds as well! I work part time as a server as well as a nanny. I have a rather flexible schedule and will be happy to meet clients in the middle with the frequency of potty breaks etc. I have worked with animals of all sizes and am capable of walking large dogs as well as putting them in their crates if needed. I’d be happy to do walks/ or just letting out in a fenced yard for a quick break.

About: I grew up in rural Virginia, in a county bordering Shenandoah National Park. That area of Virginia is primarily known as being the horse capital of the country, and like every little girl, I fell in love with horses. In order to afford riding, I’d often trade farm work for time in the saddle; and so, I grew up surrounded by creatures great and small. Not only was I responsible for taking care of my family’s personal dogs and cats, but also the farm animals (in particular, 15+ horses at a time, farm dogs, and barn cats). My unique upbringing with horses and other animals has made me a versatile house sitter. Since I was 16 (5 years ago!), I have consistently been house sitting for families with dogs, cats, and horses. Moving to Burlington has brought me away from animals, as it is hard (nearly impossible) to care for a pet while being a full time student living in an apartment. Thus, I’ve joined rover in hopes of reconnecting with my four legged friends. I am happy to help care for your pets in whatever way you see fit! I love running, walking, hiking, or simply lounging, and am flexible to your pet’s needs. As an animal lover myself, I am committed to making sure your pet is happy and healthy! I work as a barista 4 days a week from roughly 7 or 9am (depending on my shift) to 3 or 5pm. My work schedule is usually planned a month in advance and any days that I am not working at the cafe I am available for dog walking or house sitting duties. In my free time, you can find me running, working out, reading, or painting. If your dog is an active creature, I would love to take them on runs or walks! If not, I am more that happy to care for them and keep them company while you’re away! I am not able to keep your pet at my apartment for extended periods of time due to my living situation with four roommates. However, I am more than happy to take them on adventures or visit your home to care for your pets!

DEFINITELY A STAR SITTER!!! Kasandra was phenomenal! She came to my home and sat for my dog--and agreed to take on a friend's dog, in a late edition, after she had already agreed to sit for my dog. The dogs were well taken care of, walked, given lots of attention. By all indications (daily updates and photos), they both really enjoyed her. I will absolutely request Kasandra again! I just hope she's not so busy that she's booked.😁

About: Growing up in rural Vermont, my household was equal parts animals and humans. From an early age, I learned the care and attention that goes into caring for pets from the time they are an energetic puppy to well into their silver years. I’m well equipped to handle potting training, medication feeding, and leash pulling. Fun fact! My first job was as a neighborhood dog walker and my catch phrase was “Lydia B walking” because my last name starts with a B! I'm currently a student and I'm most available during the mornings on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Depending on the distance and public transit accessibility, I could be more available! When it comes to caring for other people’s pets, I treat every pet like they’re my own. Which means making sure they are happy, healthy, and safe even after walk time is over. I understand and fully respect that your pet is part of your home and as such, I will follow every aspect of your (and their) routine. In your home, I will make sure doors, gates, and crates are secure, and I always leave things just the way I found them (or better!). I love getting to know each pet’s unique personality, and I’ll keep you in the loop with plenty of updates, pics, and funny moments along the way. You can relax knowing your furry friend is in good hands—and probably having a blast.

About: I bring a diverse background to pet care, including hands on grooming experience, years of working at a daycare and boarding facility with dogs of all sizes & ages, and my current role working in pet retail. I also hold pet CPR and first aid certification and have a deep familiarity with special needs, like grand mal seizures. Your pet will be in safe, experienced hands with me! Due to my full time job, I’m available in the mornings before work, evenings after, and for overnight stays. I may not be as flexible during the day, but I’ll always work with you to ensure your pet’s needs are met. In each client’s home, I strive to keep their schedule as consistent as possible, following their usual routine for feeding, walks, and play. I keep a close eye on their comfort and safety, so they feel right at home.

Cate was absolutely amazing!!!! My husband and I were so nervous leaving our puppy at home for the first time. Cate was so kind, responsible and caring our minds were put at ease as soon as Cate arrived. She communicated throughout the weekend with pictures, videos, clarifying questions and more! She also accommodated a change in plans that required her to be on call an extra day for walks. Our dog seemed to enjoy her time with Cate and we are looking forward to being able to use Cate again! We highly recommend her

FAQs for House Sitting - Gordon Landing

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Gordon Landing on Rover is $69.38 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 355 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Gordon Landing. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Gordon Landing walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Gordon Landing maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gordon Landing choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Gordon Landing. On Rover:

  • 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
