About: I’ve grown up with dogs but have experience sitting for both cats and dogs. In addition, I spent 8 months volunteering for the humane society walking dogs. I love going for walks, hikes, and anything outdoors. I work a full time job but would love to give your pets some love outside of that :) I work full time but love to go for walks before and after work! I’m happy to accommodate whatever routine your pet is used to! Your pets are guaranteed lots of love while under my care! I hope to mimic the same love and routines they’re used to, so please don’t hesitate to tell me all your pets habits and quirks!

About: As a retired law enforcement officer and full-time island resident, I bring unmatched safety, trust, and reliability to your home and pets. My background means I remain calm and observant in any situation while keeping your property secure. Because I am retired, my schedule is completely flexible.Special Skills:• Senior Care: Practiced with strict medication schedules, oral treatments, and low-mobility routines.• Puppies/Young Pets: Skilled at maintaining potty schedules and reinforcing basic obedience with positive boundaries.• Security: Elite peace of mind for house sitting. As a retired island resident, pet care is my primary focus. Because I am not bound by a typical 9-to-5 job, my daily and weekly routines are completely flexible. This allows me to seamlessly adapt to your cat's specific schedule rather than forcing them to fit into mine.For overnight house sitting, my schedule allows me to move into your home and maintain a consistent, reassuring presence. I am there to keep your cats company through the evening and night, providing them with security and affection while keeping your home safe. Living locally on the island means I am always nearby, highly reliable, and ready to make your pet's routine my top priority. I treat your home with the utmost respect, integrity, and care. As a retired law enforcement officer, keeping your environment safe, secure, and clean while you are away is second nature to me.For your cats, my care centers on minimizing stress and maintaining their familiar routines:Updates & Photos: I send daily text and photo updates after every visit or overnight stay so you always know exactly how your cats are doing.Consistency: I follow your exact feeding schedules, refresh water bowls, and meticulously clean litter boxes daily to keep your cats comfortable.Companionship & Play: I provide dedicated attention based on your cat's personality. Whether they want high-energy laser and feather play or just a quiet, reassuring presence on the couch, I adapt to them.Health & Safety: I carefully monitor food/water intake and litter box habits to ensure they are healthy. I am highly reliable with strict medication schedules.Home Security: While house sitting, I ensure all doors and windows remain securely locked, bring in the mail, and keep your property safely monitored around the clock.

“Bianca was kind and came by beforehand for a rundown, which was much appreciated! She is clearly a cat person who is dedicated to her pet sitting commitments. I removed a star because she had a last minute mix up with her work schedule and texted us the morning we were leaving to let us know she could not come within the agreed upon time window, which left us scrambling calling neighbors and friends asking for backup. She ended up getting her work schedule moved around to make it work, which we really appreciated, but she was not able to stay the full 30 minutes at that time. This delayed us leaving on our trip by about two hours, which was a challenging start for us. With that being said, we really appreciated Bianca going above and beyond to get her work schedule moved around when things went awry.”

About: I've been around animals my entire life, and I've always considered them part of the family! I got my first dog when I was eleven, and over the years, my family grew to include six dogs. My parents and I have also fostered dogs together, giving me hands-on experience with dogs of all ages, breeds, and backgrounds, including those who need a little extra patience, reassurance, and time to adjust. I've spent years pet-sitting for family, friends, and neighbors, caring for pets through overnight stays, feeding routines, walks, playtime, and lots of love and attention. I currently live with two cats, so I'm comfortable caring for both dogs and cats and understand that every animal has their own unique personality, needs, and routines. My favorite part of caring for animals is getting to know their individual personalities and making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while their owners are away. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pets, and I want every owner to feel comfortable knowing their furry family members are in good hands. I’ll always do my best to make your pets feel right at home and give them the same love and care I would give my own! I recently moved to the area and currently work remotely, which gives me a very flexible schedule! I'm available to give your pets plenty of attention throughout the day, whether that means walks, drop-in visits, playtime, or keeping them company while you're away. I'm happy to work with your pet's usual routine and do my best to accommodate your scheduling needs. I know how important consistency is for pets, and I want to make sure they feel comfortable, cared for, and loved! My top priorities are always to create a safe, trusting environment and to ensure a comfortable atmosphere. I make sure all pets feel secure, calm, and loved. I carefully follow each owner's instructions regarding feeding, walks, medications, routines, and house rules to maintain consistency as needed and possible. In a client's home, I treat the space with respect and keep everything clean and organized. I make sure doors, gates, and leashes are always secure, and I'm very mindful of my surroundings during walks. I also take the time to get to know each pet's personality so I know how to respond appropriately to their needs and comfort levels. Communication is key, so I always provide regular updates, photos, and messages to give pet parents peace of mind. My goal is to create a safe, loving, and stress-free environment where all pets feel comfortable and cared for, and each owner feels confident they've left their pets in good hands.

About: (I am currently unavailable for new bookings Thursday through Sunday.) My name is Casey, I'm a student majoring in creative writing, and I'm looking to expand my house sitting portfolio. I have been a dog walker and house sitter for three clients/families in 2025 so far and love popping by for walks every two hours with your pup. Size, barking, and puppy-ness are non-issues! I have extreme patience and good shoulders. My grandma always told me to leave the house you're visiting neater than when you got there, so I have an eye for cleanliness and I don't want you to feel like someone has been living in your home when you come back. I.E. I will ask you if I can vacuum. I'm starting school in the fall at Vermont State University in Johnson, so I am free to book any time this summer, unless I have another doggie booked that day. I'm a list maker so I like to write down your instructions when we have a formal introduction. Food, walks, potty time, play time, training, and housekeeping will all be done to your standard.

About: My family grew up with dogs and cats; the animals are treated as family. Pet sitting (and baby sitting) were part of the routine from early on. My Consulting work is done remotely, which makes my schedule flexible for Rover assignments, and, additionally leaves ample Time for getting out on the trails with tails. I enjoy being out-of-doors, and hope that some time outside is part of your furriends’ daily care plan. I believe in sticking to the schedule that clients have established with their animals for meals, toileting, play time and quiet rest.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs my whole life. Because of my school schedule I have not been able to have a dog myself but would love the opportunity to have their companionship. During the summer I have very little going on and the few obligations I have are online so I’ll be able to dog sit. Also my son (9) who is sensitive and very caring loves dogs and would also benefit from the opportunity. I live in a dog friendly apartment building and have the trail to Leddy within steps of my doorway. There is also a dog area within steps of my front door

FAQs for Pet Sitting - Gordon Landing

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
