“Zachary took excellent care of my cat while I was out of state. I'm quite particular about who enters my home or cares for my animals. Zach was extremely communicative, upfront, and timely. Loved the photo updates, and not once did I worry about my cat while I was on vacation. Will book him every time. Thanks, Zach!”

About: I have been an active volunteer with the Elmore SPCA in Peru Ny for 4 years. I often walk, socialize, enrich, and foster the dogs in the shelters care. I have worked with puppy's as young as 3 months up to the elder dogs to provide comfort. I am currently home for summer between my graduate years of college, my work schedule varies week to week. I have lived in this area for my entire life and am comfortable with traveling for the care. Unfortunately during this time I am unable to have pets in my home. To ensure the safety for me and your pets I have completed all state required ASPCA programs to work professionally with animals. The topics for dogs and cats included; body language, diseases, safety and management, and cleaning regulations. I have regularly walked and fostered dogs from Elmore SPCA in upstate NY. Through them I have gained lots of experience handling different breeds, temperaments, sizes and ages of dogs.
“Jennifer was great with Bailey. She is very responsive even last minute. Bailey loves her and usually it takes Bailey awhile to get comfortable with anyone. Highly recommend Jennifer and will be using her again”

“Kaylee was fantastic with our two cats. She was very communicative and really did go above and beyond. We were very grateful that she was able to add an extra drop in due to an unexpected change in our trip. We will definitely be booking Kaylee again when we need a pet sitter.”

About: I grew up surrounded by animals, including spending years at a horse barn, which gave me hands-on experience caring for many different animals and personalities. I’ve pet-sat and walked dogs of all ages and energy levels. Along with that. I have trained and competed in agility and obedience with my own dogs. This background makes me comfortable providing both structured care for active dogs who love hikes and runs, as well as calm, attentive companionship for dogs who prefer a slower, cozy pace. I treat every pet I care for as if they’re my own and focus on making them feel safe, happy, and well cared for. Because I am currently working part-time, I will have plenty of time to spend with your pets! My employment and schedule are quite flexible, so I can easily spend time with your dogs. I discuss with the family what their rules, concerns, and expectations are. In order to provide the greatest experience possible, I am always open and honest!
“Nan is great! She always spends more time than what has been set up and does a great job with my little dog. She’s very thorough with making sure she will have everything she needs for your dog when you’re gone. I highly recommend Nan”

About: I have taken care of dogs, cats, horses, and exotics of all sizes my whole life. I have a calm energy and am able to work with most animals. Family and friends have relied on me from a young age to help take care of their pets while out of town. Looking to build my clientele with any type of pet sit and booking you are requiring. I specialize in aging dogs and cats and the specific special treatment they require, physically and emotionally. I have an unfenced back yard which all dogs will be leashed for potty breaks. I will treat your home as I do my own and leave everything the way I found it.
“Ben did an amazing job I was in training for 5 days but then got stuck in travel hell with his Global Travel nightmare for an additional five days and Ben was able to extend his days. I'm so thankful”
About: I’ve spent many years volunteering at shelters. Dog walking at a very young age started walking dogs in my neighborhood as a kid. It’s only progressed from there. I have training skills in potty training, commands, etc. I have some minimal behavioral training as well. I wake up at 6:00 am everyday. The dogs will get fed shortly after being walked. From there they will be walked every 4 hours. Plus they will get play time for example hike, running, fetch, swimming, etc. I do have 4 dogs in my home. They are all very friendly and well trained. They have been through extensive dog training. I also have enrichment toys to help keep your pups occupied. I have the ability to separate the dogs if needed. I do also have the knowledge of medication administration. I do make sure to monitor the entire time. Will be sure to send photo and video updates.
About: Attention to detail and understanding that each pet has unique needs is very important to me. I take the time to make them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I prioritize clear communication by sending regular updates such as photos/videos and check-ins with owners. I’m also patient with puppies who need consistency and routine. Being gentle with senior dogs who may need extra attention, slower paced care, or administration of medication during my visit. My goal is to help every pet feel at home and give owners peace of mind. I am working toward a long term career in animal care and value every opportunity to build experience while giving pets the compassionate attention they deserve. Meeting with you and your pets are a requirement before I can provide my services. I believe safety and trust are a crucial part to our professional relationship. When caring for pets in your home I do my best to keep their routine consistent so they feel safe and happy. I will provide updates and communication during my time with them, in addition to leaving your home in the same condition as when I arrived.
About: Have had pets since I was a child, over 20 years. I am a current pet and livestock owner. I have dogs, goats, bunnies and chickens. I am available most week days and every other weekend. I can be flexible, but it would have to work around my full time job. I am willing to drop in and walk your dog for as long as you'd like. Will play catch, ball and run them when possible.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
