Cynthia is very patient with Kwame as he can be a handful. As I work externally and my daughter works at home this walk has really helped Kwame. Thank you Cynthia

Stephanie had a great time meeting the dogs. One is cautious around new people, but Stephanie made them feel very comfortable. I am very happy to have found her!

About: I have had pets all my life and love taking care of them, I’ve also dog sat and taken dogs out before for people close to me I just graduated and am looking for ways to get out of the house and make some extra money, I love to just get out of the house for even just an hour of the day! I love walking pets or letting them outside in the yard, I also like to play fetch with them and of course relaxing is good also!

Daysi absolutely went above and beyond to ensure that all of my pup's needs were understood. Despite Mac being a little bit nervous about new people, Daysi worked to get him to warm up. I highly recommend Daysi to any dog parent.

About: Reliable, caring, and passionate about animal care 🐾 I provide dependable pet sitting services with a focus on safety, comfort, and personalized attention. I understand that every pet has different needs and routines, so I take the time to learn what makes each pet feel their best. From daily walks and playtime to companionship and care while you’re away, I’m committed to providing the same love and attention I would want for my own pets. I’m responsible, communicative, and will always keep you updated so you can relax knowing your pets are cared for. I have 8 years of experience with animals (dogs specifically), I have been trained to give oral and injectable medications for all pets as well. I am currently working part time (2-3 days a week) so that gives me ample time to spend time with your fur babies. My schedule is also extremely flexible! I have a decent sized fenced in yard with 5 dogs at home. My babies are friendly but take some time to get used to other dogs!

About: I've grown up with dogs in my house for my whole life and helped neighbors out when needed. I've had dogs of all ages, ranging from puppies to seniors. In addition, I've helped out friends who have cats and often volunteer and local animal shelters with cats and dogs. At the moment, I have an extremely flexible schedule! I am available most days of the week, and I can shift around the majority of my plans if needed. Because I've grown up around dogs, I'm very experienced with dog care necessities including walking, feeding, crating, etc. Although I have never had a cat because my dad is allergic, I love cats and have helped friends take care of their fuzzy furballs more times than I can count. I love playing with animals, and I'm exciting to meet yours!

About: I’ve taken care of animals for as long as I can remember. My mother was a dog sitter when I was younger so that has made me comfortable around most if not all breeds. I would help her with the feeding while she took them out. Now that I’m older I have two huskies and a cat. My goal is to eventually have farm animals, mainly as pets 😂. So, my love for animals is quite enormous. I do currently work from home M-F. I can give potty breaks every 2-3 hours while working. Since I work from home your pet would have to be well mannered while I’m on the phone. They of course will be welcomed to lay around me while working and will be loved on the entire time 😊. I have a huge yard, 2 acres worth. About 1/2 an acre is fenced in for the dogs. I have 2 spunky huskies well one tends to be more lazy than anything and I have a cat that loves our dogs.

Jessica is terrific!! I have a sweet dog, but she can be kinda difficult to wake up, and then she can have a mind of her own when it comes to walks (and she's a big dog). Jessica took the time needed to wake her up gently, give her a good walk, feed her, and settle her back down for her nap. I could see that my dog went on her "preferred" walks both times. And Jessica texted me throughout to let me know how things were going. I would definitely call her again (and am glad to know somebody so dependable - and whom my dog likes!. Thank you, Jessica!

About: I’ve cared for dogs & cats since I was kid and will care for your fur baby like they are my own! I’m an avid walker/runner and happy to help you and your pup in whatever way you need—drop in visits or walks. I have cared for senior pups before and am happy to care for your’s if that’s what you need! I’m a full time PhD student doing research from home with a flexible schedule. I’m hoping to help someone walk their dog or stop in to play with their cat from time to time or on a regular basis if we’re a good fit! Mornings & evenings are generally easiest for me to come by and go on walks, but I can be flexible midday depending on my schedule. I’m currently a Cat Mom who loves to have play & cuddle time when I’m not working (or even sometimes when I am). I don’t have a dog but would take them out regularly on my daily walks! I’m also happy to drop in and visit your pup—for playtime, snuggles, or just some companion time!

About: Customers will love that I love animals and they will be able to feel it! I have had many animals for long periods of my life. My Cagney ( a min pin) passed when she was 16. My Boo ( a black cat) passed also when she was 16. They were the best! My babies are always interesting - all their personalities make them all so different just like people, except that they love you unconditionally. They are always there no matter what! One of my all time favorites was a bulldog I used to pet sit. He was a funny slobbery clumsy little man. Sliming corners of my jeans and my shoes and running as hard as he could to me when I came thru the door and always ready to hang out and cuddle. Fun stuff!!!!! One customer had two cats that required lots of love visits! They loved to play and run all over when u visited. Mommy Suzanne loved pics so my son and I would get them playing and start taking pics. Sweet personalities. My weakness used to be taking in animals when I couldn't afford any more. I try not to do that now - instead I try to place strays that others bring me into other good homes. My brother took in one such cat that I took in as a rescue. Jazz brought him and my brothers wife a lot of happiness over the years! I am glad I took him in and that my brother added him to his household as a forever family!! The pics in my profile are: Thor the bulldog! Thor Thor bully Thor! Rocky the red min pin- big bark ! Little man!(he's older and whiter in this pic) Boomer is a good ole boy that my younger brother adopted. Just a super calm dog that you can only love. Mae Mae the cat - very RARE close encounter with her on my knee!!! #mustescapefromhumans The last one is good mix dog sitting in his front yard after I have taken him for a walk. His name is so different I can't remember how to say or spell it. Protective dog that I kept for my friend Val. Loves his regular walks. I currently work full time but work from home but and can work from your home if house sitting and/or visit when needed thruout the day(s). I follow your lead. Whatever you allow them to do i will allow and will restrict as you see fit. I go by your rules.

About: Current dog mom of 2 and love to care for all animals! I’ve always grown up with a dog in the home and I began my petsitting journey at age 13 when I began petsitting for my neighbors. I’ve cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, hedgehogs, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, and fish. I’ve cared for dogs with extra needs (blind, anxiety, behavioral issues, etc.) and am comfortable administering medicine. I’ve watched up to 6 dogs in one household and am comfortable if more are involved! I volunteered at my local animal shelter throughout college working to socialize cats and dogs to help find their forever home! I have a large fenced in yard and live close to walking trails. My dogs are very friendly and love to be social with other, well-behaved dogs! I currently work from home 3 days a week and can offer drop-in visits before 8am or after 5pm. I’m flexible to do one time drop ins or regular scheduled drop ins! In my home, I make sure to keep your pup in a normal routine while you are away. I’m respectful and want you to come home to pup(s) just how you left them!

  • 92% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
