About: Krista is the main point of contact, and depending on scheduling and/or pet needs, it will be Krista or Zach conducting the visits. This will be discussed up front! We are Zachary and Krista - passionate animal lovers. We are experienced foster dog parents (with Little Paws Dachshund Rescue) with three rescue doxies. We provide premium care for both your pups, kitties and other pets! As pet parents and experienced dog foster parents over the past 6 years, we bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise in caring for our furry friends. For drop-in visits and walking clients, we make sure to be a trusted companion for your dog or cat during the visit and will feed, snuggle, play, administer medications and/or walk as you instruct. Our service radius for visits is 10 miles of Glasco/Saugerties, NY. We can be flexible based on location and timing. We have experience giving injections (B12 and insulin), subcutaneous fluids via IV, experience with anxious and reactive dogs, as well as caring for special needs pups (recovering from surgeries, disabilities, IVDD). Happy to discuss non-traditional animal care as well (i.e. rabbits, ferrets, chickens, reptiles, birds). We both work remotely during the week with flexible hours, so your furry companion's comfort is our utmost priority, and we will diligently adhere to their established routine right from the beginning. Our Rover calendar is kept up to date so you can see when we are available. We only book up to two months in advance, unless you are a current client. For house sitting clients, the cost is for staying overnight, and dropping in (in and out) during the day depending on pet needs. House sitting pricing is not inclusive of 24/7 care. If 24/7 care is needed, we can discuss further! For walk clients or drop-in visit clients we will follow your instructions for care and will ensure to create a nurturing environment where they'll thrive in their own element. You’ll get lots of photos and a summary of the visit upon conclusion of the visit.

About: I didn’t get to experience the joy of growing up with dogs or cats but as soon as I was able I began taking in fosters from the NYC shelter system. It was quite a learning experience spending time with many dogs (and a few cats) of all different types and personalities. I no longer foster but I bring the experience and dedication from working with so many shelter pets to caring for your furry family members. And as a pet parent now myself I have been through many sitters so I understand what makes a good one! A note on boarding and meet and greets: I’m happy to have boarding candidates come by to meet me and check out the space but I do not do meet and greets with my own dogs. My dogs are dog friendly but they are too chaotic and excitable to meet new dogs and owners right away. New dogs are kept separate at first and introduced at their own pace when everyone is calm. This minimizes stress for everyone and allows for better interactions. I currently work out of the house Monday/Wednesday/Friday but my schedule is somewhat flexible. The rest of the week I work at home and I am often available all weekend. Dogs in my home have access to a securely fenced large yard for running and fetch, as well as a quiet neighborhood for walks. If the weather is warm dogs have access to a dog door so they may go outside as they please. If your dog likes to play with other dogs mine will certainly be happy to accommodate but they can also have separate spaces if quiet time is needed. In your home I will make every effort to keep your pets schedule as familiar as possible while offering lots of love and stimulation. As someone who has had many sitters come through and stay at my house I understand the importance of trust and cleanliness so you can be away without worry.
