Not only did she have an instant rapport with my anxious-about-new-people puppy, but she responded immediately to my sudden and very last-minute need for help when our usual pet sitter had a conflict about an hour before I had to leave town for the weekend! I was afraid I’d have to cancel everything but in a matter of about an hour Rachel came to meet me and our two dogs, get instructions and a house key, and that was that. I liked her immediately — she clearly has dog-whispering skills! — and I had NO qualms about leaving town with them in her care. I cannot thank or praise her enough — did I mention that she even noticed a scheduling error I’d made in my rush to get the paperwork done? She handled everything with ease and generosity. About: I’ve always loved animals, especially dogs and cats. I grew up with two golden retrievers, and after they passed, my family naturally became the neighborhood pet sitters. I spent so much of my childhood around all kinds of pets that it honestly feels like I grew up right alongside them. When my family got another golden retriever puppy, I was the one who took on most of her training. Working with her taught me patience, consistency, and how to build real trust with a young dog.
