Jordan is the best - so flexible & communicative. We always feel (slightly) less guilty leaving our baby with her knowing that he’s totally obsessed with her. 12/10 would recommend.

Candice is terrific! We can tell she loves dogs, is very experienced, careful and trustworthy. And our 8 month old pup loves her. Our dog is high energy yet is always tired out after walks with Candice, which is exactly what we need! I would highly recommend Canice to anyone looking for topnotch pet care.

About: I have taken care of animals for as long as I can remember. I grew up with cats, but most of my family had dogs, so I have always been around them. This love for animals also got me into the veterinary field, which I have 6 years experience in. I have years of experience walking, handling, and playing with dogs and now have the experience to give oral medications or injections if needed. I currently don’t have any dogs, but I do have 2 cats. During my day I always make sure I wake up early enough to feed them and clean the litter box. After coming home from work, I feed them dinner and spend some time brushing and playing with them. I then clean the litter box before going to bed and repeat the next day. In my home, I have installed screen doors on the entry doors to prevent my cats from escaping but so they also can see the outside activity. I have socket covers to prevent them from playing in it and make sure to cover all wires so they don’t think they are toys.

About: Animals are basically part of my DNA. I’ve been walking dogs and pet sitting since I was a child, and I grew up surrounded by dogs, cats, and other animals. I’ve also been riding and caring for horses my entire life, which means I’m very comfortable with responsibility, routines, and understanding animal behavior. I have hands-on experience with pets of all sizes, ages, and personalities—from energetic dogs who love long walks and playtime to seniors who need a calmer pace and extra TLC. I’m great at reading animal cues, keeping routines consistent, and making sure pets feel safe, happy, and loved. I truly treat every pet as if they were my own. I work from home, so pets are never left alone and are part of my daily routine. My home sits on 3 acres of private property surrounded by a state park, which means lots of space for play and long walks or hikes. Safety and trust are always my top priorities. I care for pets by treating them like part of the family, whether they’re in my home or theirs. I stick closely to each pet’s usual routine—including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and rest—so they feel comfortable and secure. I make sure dogs get plenty of supervised exercise, enrichment, and attention throughout the day. I’m attentive to individual needs, whether that means extra activity for high-energy dogs, gentle care for seniors, or patience and consistency with puppies. I also keep pet parents updated with messages and photos so they can feel confident their pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.

About: I have been dog sitting for a couple years already, I love to dog watch and have 2 fur babies of my own! Both of my dogs are predominantly pit bull so I am super comfortable handling bigger dogs or even dogs with attitudes. Family friends trust me to care for their pets while they are gone and I will always care for other pets as if they are my own. I love animals and if theres any other animals other than cats or dogs feel free to reach out! I used to have ball python and also know how to care for reptiles. I am currently still looking for employment so my hours are super flexible! I occasionally will have appointments but besides that I will normally always be available. It all depends on your own preference, I can always drop in to either feed or walk your pets. If you really wanted I could also bathe your pets or I could just stay at your house while you’re gone. Im very comfortable handling dogs so if you need me to crate them at night or have any other special instructions like medication feel free to let me know!

About: Hi! I’m Jess, and if my friends had to describe me, they’d probably say I’m the human version of a golden retriever friendly, energetic, loyal, and always excited to make new friends (especially the furry kind!). While I haven’t owned a dog myself, I’ve spent years helping care for dogs belonging to family, friends, and many of my personal training clients. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, cuddles, or simply keeping them company, I genuinely love spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. As a personal trainer and health coach, I’m very active, dependable, and attentive to details. I’ll treat your dog like family and make sure they get plenty of exercise, affection, and care while you’re away. I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, and I would be honored to be that person for your furry family member. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine right now. I currently have a flexible schedule and am looking to stay active and productive throughout the summer while doing something I genuinely enjoy. I love animals and see pet sitting and dog walking as an opportunity to help both pets and their owners. I know many people have vacations, family events, long workdays, and summer plans, and it can be stressful worrying about leaving a beloved pet behind. My goal is to provide loving, dependable care so pet parents can enjoy their time away with peace of mind, knowing their furry family member is getting plenty of attention, exercise, companionship, and affection. As someone who is active, responsible, and caring, I enjoy spending time outdoors, going for walks, and giving pets the love and attention they deserve. I look forward to helping families this summer while building meaningful connections with both pets and their owners. 🐾💛 When caring for pets in my client’s home, I do my best to keep their routine as normal and stress free as possible. I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding schedules, walks, potty breaks, medications, playtime, and any special needs. I make sure pets have fresh water, a clean environment, plenty of exercise, and lots of love and attention throughout the day. Every pet has a unique personality, so I take the time to build trust and make them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owner is away. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playing fetch, cuddling on the couch, or simply having someone nearby, I’m happy to accommodate their needs. As a personal trainer and health coach, I lead an active lifestyle and love spending time outdoors, making me a great fit for dogs who enjoy walks and playtime. I also understand how important pets are to their families, so I treat every animal as if they were my own and provide regular updates, photos, and communication so owners can have peace of mind while they’re away. 🐾💛

I totally lucked out finding Griffin through Rover. He was friendly, communicative, and quickly got to know my dog, Poppy's, personality and needs. I felt very secure having him take her out for walks while I was working. He was safety minded; thinking about the right place to walk with her, using a harness, and being mindful of ticks. I think Poppy loved her time with him and I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

This was our first time using Rover in several years and since moving back to NYC from another state. We engaged Doris to stop by our apartment to walk our two large dogs in the middle of a weekday when we both had to be out of town and it sounds like everything went great. One of our dogs, Molly, can be very shy and skittish, so we left Doris detailed instructions about how to deal with her. Doris gave us specific feedback about how Molly did with her (quite well, as it turned out), which made us feel more comfortable about the next time we will need to employ someone to help with the dogs.

About: I am a true animal lover at heart! I've taken care of friends and family pets my entire life. I became a dog walker part-time on the side of my full-time job back in 2017 in Southern California where I once walked 7 dogs at once! I have cared for high energy puppies all the way to older dogs with medical needs. I love all personalities and age ranges. I am a hybrid worker which allows me a flexible schedule that I can adapt to pet care routines. I love to snuggle up on the couch and look forward to the pet breaks in the day to get outside to play and walk. I am happy to work together and adapt to your pet care needs! I have had extended stays, some as long months at a time at clients' homes to care for their homes, plants, cats, and dogs. I understand the trust needed with your home and animals and hope to bring you peace of mind with my stay and lots of pet photos!

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Garrison. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Garrison.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Garrison. On Rover:

  • 88% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
